Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 288 - 289: Just Like Us
Leona Grant walked to the door of Aaron Wyatt’s hospital room. When she saw the scene inside, she stopped dead in her tracks—
Annabelle Linton was feeling quite exhausted.
’Ever since she was reborn, she felt like she’d lost count of how many times she’d been to the hospital.’
And now, on top of everything, just seeing Leona Grant was irritating. She had planned to transfer to another hospital with Aaron Wyatt yesterday, but since he hadn’t woken up, the transfer was impossible.
Thankfully, he was awake now, and Annabelle Linton could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"Time to eat." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Annabelle Linton walked over to Aaron Wyatt, holding a bowl of porridge.
Leona Grant had injured his right arm, so he couldn’t move it. He wasn’t supposed to move much at all, so she had no choice but to feed him herself.
Annabelle Linton scooped up a spoonful of porridge and brought it to his lips. Seeing him just staring at her without reacting, she raised an eyebrow. "Master Wyatt, would you please open your mouth? Staring at me won’t fill your stomach."
Her form of address made Aaron Wyatt chuckle. He ate the spoonful of porridge she offered and said with a smile, "Thank you, Dr. Linton."
"You’re welcome. Just pay the bill."
They both laughed together again.
The two of them were always so harmonious and warm together, as if no one could ever come between them.
After they finished eating, Aaron Wyatt removed his shirt, and Annabelle Linton changed his dressing.
She was a doctor, and in her eyes, patients had no gender. So, she could remain calm and professional when faced with a shirtless, mature man.
Annabelle Linton gently cut open his gauze with a pair of scissors. Blood had already seeped through, and seeing it, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of self-blame.
’If it weren’t for him, I would have been the one who got hurt... And the wound on his arm was inflicted by Leona Grant...’
’This was all my fault...’
Annabelle Linton pressed her lips together, her expression grim as she changed his dressing without saying a word.
Aaron Wyatt stared unblinkingly at the woman before him, her eyes lowered as she tended to his wound. A soft light filled his gaze.
In his eyes, a small injury was nothing as long as Annabelle was safe.
Watching this scene, Leona Grant would be lying if she said she wasn’t upset.
She remembered when she had been hospitalized for an allergic reaction Annabelle had caused. Annabelle hadn’t even been willing to stay in the same room with her.
She’d had to threaten Annabelle just to get her to feed her or change her dressing.
It felt as if she had to force Annabelle to do everything.
Seeing the deep worry and remorse etched on Annabelle’s face, Leona Grant found the sight absolutely jarring.
Her expression instantly turned sinister, and fury surged within her.
After Annabelle finished changing his dressing, the two of them had nothing to do, so they found a movie to watch.
They were watching the classic film *Titanic*. They had skipped ahead in the plot, and it just so happened to be the scene where Rose runs to the stern of the ship to jump, only to be met by Jack.
Jack, seeing she was about to jump, started taking off his clothes and said to her, "You jump, I jump."
This line is the most moving and classic one in the entire film, having touched countless people around the world.
Jack’s line, "You jump, I jump," signifies being together in life and death.
Aaron Wyatt looked at Annabelle Linton’s expressionless profile as she watched the movie and suddenly said, "Annabelle, don’t you feel like this scene with the two of them is a lot like us?"
Hearing this, Annabelle Linton was indeed reminded of something.
Vivian Yates had framed her, pushing her into a river, and Leona Grant had abandoned her and left.
She had crawled out of the river in despair, only to be hit by a car. It was Aaron Wyatt who had saved her.
After she woke up, she felt that life was hopeless and ran to the seaside to jump into the ocean. At that time, Aaron Wyatt had also been about to take off his clothes, and he said to her, "I definitely can’t just stand by and watch you jump. Go on, jump. If you jump, I’ll jump too."
