Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 307: You Must Give Me an Account and an Explanation
Aaron Wyatt was being held down by the bodyguards, but they couldn’t restrain him.
He was a skilled fighter himself—and a very good one at that. In fact, he was the one who had taught Annabelle Linton how to fight.
When the other bodyguards saw Aaron Wyatt get back on his feet, they all rushed in to attack him.
As capable as Aaron Wyatt was, he couldn’t take on so many highly-trained bodyguards. He was soon injured.
Annabelle Linton saw blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, and her heart leaped into her throat. "Stop fighting! Stop it! All of you, stop!"
Unfortunately, no one listened to her.
Aaron Wyatt was gradually overwhelmed. Watching so many fists and feet land on him, Annabelle Linton’s eyes reddened.
She ran up to Leona Grant and shouted frantically, "Leona Grant, make them stop! Please don’t let them hit him anymore! I’m begging you, okay?"
’Begging?’
Leona Grant’s sharp gaze fell upon her reddened eyes, and a sarcastic smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
’So her heart aches for that man? How dare she plead for another man right in front of me?!’
’In that case, I’ll make sure he doesn’t get off easy!’
His eyes, deep as a dried-up well, scanned her nonchalantly. He appeared unconcerned, but inside, a tempest raged.
Leona Grant looked at her coolly, his face devoid of expression. "In this world, no one besides you has ever dared to lay a hand on me. Do you know what happened to the first person who dared to insult me?"
He stared at her, a cold sneer forming on his lips. "He’s long dead. I don’t spare even those who insult me, let alone someone who dares to attack me!"
"You’re shameless!" Annabelle Linton cursed angrily. "You provoked him into attacking you just so you’d have an excuse to go after him, didn’t you? Let me tell you, if you dare do anything to him today, I’ll kill myself right in front of you!"
A dangerous glint flashed in Leona Grant’s eyes. He commanded the bodyguards, "Don’t anyone hold back. Beat him half to death!"
As soon as he spoke, the bodyguards’ attacks grew even more vicious.
"SPIT—"
A fist slammed into his stomach, and Aaron Wyatt coughed up a mouthful of blood!
Annabelle Linton’s heart clenched. She kicked a bodyguard aside and ran to Aaron Wyatt.
The bodyguards didn’t know what to do. Not daring to touch Annabelle Linton, they stopped their assault.
Annabelle Linton rushed to Aaron Wyatt’s side. He was already covered in blood, looking completely lifeless.
Annabelle Linton burst into tears. She knelt and held him, her heart aching as she wiped the blood from his lips. It felt as if her own heart was bleeding. "I’m sorry, Aaron Wyatt. This is all my fault."
Aaron Wyatt tenderly wiped her tears away and pulled her into a tight embrace. Her fresh scent washed over him, and he felt a wave of unprecedented happiness and contentment. "I’m okay, Annabelle. Don’t blame yourself. All that matters is that you’re not hurt."
Hearing this only made Annabelle Linton cry harder. "It’s all my fault. I’m the one who dragged you into this. I’m the worst. Aaron Wyatt, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry, I never thought this would happen..."
Leona Grant watched the two of them coldly, his expression one of detached, superior indifference. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
In reality, he wanted nothing more than to strangle Annabelle Linton.
Everyone knew about his relationship with her. That was the only reason the bodyguards hadn’t laid a hand on her. And yet here she was, clinging to another man, crying as if her world were ending.
’Damn her. Damn her to hell!’
’This is a provocation. A blatant, shameless provocation!’
"Men! Take this shameless, arrogant, and utterly clueless man away!"
At Leona Grant’s command, the bodyguards swiftly pulled the two apart. They dragged Aaron Wyatt into a car and sped off.
Annabelle Linton froze for a second, then immediately scrambled to her feet and faced Leona Grant, shouting in fury, "Leona Grant, you’d better explain yourself, or I swear this isn’t over between us! Where are you taking him?!"
