Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss
Chapter 833 - 807: Maybe a Daughter Would Like a Dad Like This
"Do you have some sort of conflict with this client?" Zheng Xu asked Qian.
Qian didn’t mention the part where the principal released a lunatic; she just simply mentioned her past with the principal.
After hearing it, Zheng Xu couldn’t help but laugh and cry.
"What’s the deal with your connection to this family? How come you bump into them wherever you go?"
The principal, afraid of encountering acquaintances in Lishi, ran to the town to find a doctor, not expecting to encounter Qian there who was sent over to assist.
After the principal showed symptoms of schizophrenia, her family feared the embarrassment of running into familiar faces in Lishi. They thought a renowned psychologist in Lishi might help, but ended up falling into Qian’s hands again.
"I also want to know how small this world is. Forget it, I definitely won’t take her case, let her family change doctors."
Though Qian had doubts about why the principal went crazy, she didn’t plan to engage with that family anymore. There were many doctors; she had neither obligation nor any strong compassion to deal with such a family.
"I understand." Zheng Xu didn’t plan to force Qian; he wasn’t familiar with that family anyway.
After covering the business topics, Zheng Xu shared with Qian his recent situation, mentioning his poor quality of sleep.
"Can you record a hypnotic guide for me or call me every day?" Zheng Xu had undergone Qian’s treatment and knew her hypnosis was spot on.
Qian thought about it; the task posed some difficulty.
"With my current voice, would you be distracted listening to it?"
Her voice would take a while to recover. This raspy little voice would make Zheng Xu distracted if recorded for hypnosis, rendering him unable to sleep.
"What should I do then?"
"Do you have something on your mind lately?"
"What could it be..." Zheng Xu’s headache sprang up upon thinking about his father. Recently, the old man had been calling him without reason like someone going through menopause, nagging him non-stop.
Zheng Xu glared at Qian, "Isn’t it all your fault!"
"Me?!" Qian felt wronged.
"Ever since my dad got wind of your Erha’s marriage, he’s been pestering me like a madman, pointing fingers and scolding me!"
What’s more frustrating for Zheng Xu is, getting yelled at is one thing, but why should he be compared to a military dog?
Zheng Xu’s dad really favored Yu Minglang, thinking since Xiaoqiang married so early, compared to renegade, freedom-loving Zheng Xu, he was like a neglected stepchild.
"Pfft, so it’s about that." Qian laughed with no sympathy.
"Every day they line up blind dates for me, it’s suffocating. I’ve decided to randomly pick someone who can bear children and is reliable, give my father a grandchild and quiet him down." Zheng Xu was also forced into marriage and was left with no choice.
The only time in his life he considered marriage was a few years ago after meeting Qian, but Qian was snatched away by Erha. Zheng Xu and Qian became friends, losing that romantic feeling. He felt that all women were the same, once the lights were off, it was no big deal. Quickly marrying someone to quiet his father became his goal.
"I see..." Qian thought about it, Zheng Xu didn’t marry so early in his previous life, but considering everything, it might be almost time now. Maybe Minglang and Xiaoqiang’s situations stimulated Zheng Xu’s dad, making him rush the marriage early.
Considering Zheng Xu’s previous life wife, Qian couldn’t help but offer Zheng Xu some honest advice.
"Your dad has an old comrade whose daughter is named Fen Lan, stay clear of her. If you marry her, your life will be full of turbulence."
The woman appeared gentle and reliable, but upon marrying, there was endless drama. Secretly, she engaged in lots of jealousy-induced actions. Zheng Xu, on the other hand, after marriage, was reluctant to give up the pleasures of the outside world. He never truly cared for that woman in his previous life. If he hadn’t married before knowing Qian, he wouldn’t have married Fen Lan. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"You know her?" Zheng Xu was taken aback. His father’s blind date list did indeed include Fen Lan. If Qian hadn’t mentioned it, he would’ve met her this week.
"I have a patient who knows her, she’s the type with dual personalities. If you dare marry her, prepare for a lifetime of entanglement."
Besides, such marriages have notoriously difficult divorce rates.
"Forget it, I won’t go on a blind date with her, there are plenty of women, I can pick randomly."
Qian sneered, "Your irresponsible attitude isn’t fit for marriage. Why force yourself into it?"
"My dad wants grandchildren." Zheng Xu didn’t want a wife either. If it wasn’t Qian, there wouldn’t be much point.
"Getting a grandchild is easy. Consider test-tube babies, it’s perfect. A man like you marrying would only harm women. If you can’t settle down, don’t touch marriage, especially after having children, it hurts them if parents aren’t harmonious."
This life of Zheng Xu was completely different from his past. With Qian’s rebirth, she brought him lots of information and resources. Now, Zheng Xu was an impeccably clean businessman, avoiding anything illegal, so his family couldn’t fault him but could only nag about his private life.
"Chen Xiaoqian, how come you’re all naggy like a community aunt after getting married?" Zheng Xu felt Qian shouldn’t be like this; she should be like him, crossing a yard full of flowers without being touched.
"Maybe it’s because I’m planning to have a baby recently. Preparing to be a mother makes you think comprehensively, marriage isn’t just about two people, it’s about considering your child’s future too."
"You’re... going to have a child with Mr. Yu?!" Zheng Xu was shocked. Yu Minglang’s marriage alone made his father jealous enough. If Yu Laomao went ahead and had a child, his father wouldn’t stop obsessing.
What’s more surprising was such a carefree woman like Qian would consider having a baby so young.
"I’ve thought it over. Xiaoqiang and I are pretty stable now, having a child seems fine."
Initially, Qian didn’t plan to have a baby so early, mainly because she felt she wasn’t qualified yet to be a mother. But unexpectedly, the incident of being choked became the key point in unlocking her heart knot.
"You guys are so suffocating..." The shadow cast over Zheng Xu’s heart was immeasurable.
"Once you become a parent, Zheng Xu, you’ll understand my feelings. Trying to explain it to someone without kids now is futile."
Pfft, Qian struck Zheng Xu’s head with another thunderbolt.
"Where do you see me having the look of a nanny? Those soft little babies, what’s appealing? Aren’t they just props to please the elders?"
"We’re like mental twins; what I like you’ll like too."
"Can I ask how Erha brainwashed you into this? I remember 10 days ago during our call, you said you weren’t planning to have a baby anytime soon, it wasn’t the right time?"
Feeling betrayed after his ally was choked and switched sides, it was painful!
"Well, I did feel it was inappropriate back then, but after getting hurt, Xiaoqiang made me suddenly understand something: humans are imperfect but can always improve."
If it were Minglang 10 years later, he definitely wouldn’t have kicked the lunatic mom. Maturity taught him restraint, but Qian fell for the process of seeing him grow bit by bit. She suddenly realized, perhaps a daughter would also like to see a dad like he is now.
