Richest Rag-picker
Chapter 203 - 201: The Arrogant Sanqiang Entertainment
Fang Chenyi frowned. The guard had clearly recognized Bai Mengyao.
"What makes you think we don’t have business here?"
In response to Fang Chenyi’s question, the guard waved his hand in annoyance and said impatiently,
"Cut the crap. Didn’t I tell you last time? There’s no one here named Mu Linsen! Now scram, go on about your business and stop blocking the door. Seriously, everyone thinks they can be a star without taking a good look in the mirror. Now you get scammed and come crying back? A little late for regrets, don’t you think?"
The guard’s abrasive tone took Fang Chenyi aback.
’There’s an old saying for a reason. You can tell a lot about a place from its people. Judging by this guard’s rotten attitude, I can already guess what kind of company Sanqiang Entertainment is.’
With a disdainful glance at the guard, Fang Chenyi led the way inside. ’It’s beneath me to argue with a lowly security guard.’
"Hey, hey, hey! What are you, deaf or blind? Didn’t you hear what I just said? Get back here... OOF!"
Seeing Fang Chenyi trying to barge in, the guard scurried over to block his path, arms flailing as he tried to shove him back.
Fang Chenyi didn’t even deign to look at the man. With a single flick of his arm, he sent him flying several feet.
He hit the ground with a THUD and let out a long wail.
He turned back to the others and gave them a small smile, as if nothing had happened.
"Heh. Judging by that guard alone, this company can’t be much. Let’s go. Do you know where the boss’s office is?"
No one had expected the perpetually smiling, seemingly harmless Fang Chenyi to be so swift and decisive. He had taken down a big, burly security guard in a single, fluid motion.
This was especially true for Father Bai and Mrs. Bai, whose impression of their future son-in-law improved considerably. ’With a son-in-law who can fight like that, we can rest easy leaving our daughter in his hands.’
After hearing Fang Chenyi’s question, Bai Mengyao shook her head and said,
"I don’t know. Last time I was here, I never even got to see the boss. The receptionist just sent me away."
Fang Chenyi nodded, unconcerned. ’If we don’t know where it is, we’ll just have to find it ourselves.’
He strode into the office building. The entire first floor was a single, large reception hall.
A receptionist behind the desk immediately stood up when she saw Fang Chenyi’s group walk in. But as her eyes landed on Bai Mengyao, the smile vanished from her face. She snatched the walkie-talkie from her desk and began calling for security.
Hearing her on the radio, Fang Chenyi frowned. ’So they’re all like this, huh.’
He strode forward, frowning at the heavily made-up young woman behind the reception desk.
"Excuse me, what floor is your boss’s office on?"
The receptionist gave the handsome young man in front of her a flirtatious glance, but then she remembered why he was here and her tone became blunt.
"The boss isn’t here!"
Seeing her attitude, the hearts of the people behind him sank. ’Even if our future son-in-law is rich and powerful,’ they thought, ’there’s no guarantee these people will show him any respect.’
Before Fang Chenyi could ask again, a group of security guards stormed in from outside, including the one he had just tossed aside.
Even if the receptionist hadn’t called, they would have charged in to cause trouble for Fang Chenyi anyway.
"Listen, kid. I’ll give you one chance. Pay me two thousand for medical expenses and get the hell out of here, and we’ll call it even."
He shook his head in resignation. ’What kind of people work at this company...?’
Seeing Fang Chenyi’s disdainful head shake, the guard flew into a rage. The receptionist seized the opportunity to shout,
"Security! They’re here to cause trouble! Get them out of here!"
’Huh? All I did was ask where the boss’s office is. How is that causing trouble?’
Hearing this, one of the guards yelled, "Alright, boys! They’re looking for trouble, so let’s give it to ’em! Throw ’em out!"
The words had barely left his mouth when the guards swarmed forward, brandishing their rubber batons to drive Fang Chenyi and his group out.
Seeing this, even the good-natured Fang Chenyi finally snapped.
He darted to the front, planted his left foot, and unleashed a spinning roundhouse kick with his right. The first two guards cried out as they were knocked to the floor.
But as the saying goes, two fists are no match for four hands. After felling the first two, Fang Chenyi expertly flicked his toe, sending a fallen rubber baton flying into his hand.
With a weapon in hand, Fang Chenyi was like a tiger loosed upon a flock of sheep. In a matter of seconds, he was the only one left standing, baton in hand. The other seven or eight guards were all on the floor, groaning in pain.
He casually tossed the baton to the ground, dusted off his hands nonchalantly, and turned to the receptionist with a bright smile.
"Now, would you be able to get your boss for me?"
The receptionist flinched under his gaze, her body trembling with fear. She nodded frantically.
As she nodded, Fang Chenyi could clearly see a dusting of white powder flake off her face...
About three minutes after the receptionist made the call, a portly man with a large belly came storming down the stairs.
His arrogant voice echoed down before he even arrived.
"Who has the gall to cause trouble at my Sanqiang Entertainment? So, you’re the ones who wanted to see me?"
Watching the man’s insufferably arrogant display, Fang Chenyi shook his head. ’With an attitude like that, this company will never amount to anything.’
He took a step forward, his eyes fixed on the fat man, and spoke in a level voice.
"So you must be the boss of Sanqiang Entertainment? Heh, and here I was, thinking you were actually out. Since you’re here, let’s settle this. Here. This is one of your company’s contracts, correct?"
Though rich and powerful, Fang Chenyi had always believed in using reason to persuade others. He extended his hand, holding out the six-million-yuan contract Bai Mengyao had been tricked into signing.
But the man didn’t even glance at it, simply swatting Fang Chenyi’s hand away as he spoke in a cold voice.
"I’m not looking at that garbage. My men already reported this to me last time. That contract is a forgery, and the company seal is a fake. This has nothing to do with us. You’ll just have to chalk it up to bad luck. Now, I’m a busy man, so you can leave. I’ll even be generous and overlook the fact that you beat up my men."
After saying his piece, he turned to leave.
Just then, however, the sound of a car engine roared from the entrance.
To be continued...
