Chapter 1055: Chapter 1055: You’d Better Give a Good Reason

Summer Sutton stood obediently to the side, like a student who had done something wrong, silently observing his reaction.

Watt Bennet seemed to be trying hard to restrain his anger, taking several deep breaths. His face slowly lifted, and his gaze fixed on her again, "Tell me, why did you go abroad this time?"

He had become much steadier than before. When provoked by Summer Sutton, he no longer just focused on his anger, or thought only of tormenting her.

Now, he would calmly ask her for reasons first.

Breathing steadily, he just looked at her, waiting for her answer.

She’d better give him a good reason!

Otherwise...

As he looked, he suddenly curled his lips into a cold smile.

Summer Sutton found his smile rather creepy, making her extremely uncomfortable under his gaze. She took several steps back, "I already said, I just wanted to take a break. I was a bit tired recently."

She was undoubtedly tired, Watt could imagine that.

A woman who didn’t understand business management, managing so many companies, how could she not be tired?

But before, had she ever said she was tired, or complained?

Summer Sutton wasn’t someone to complain, and Watt knew her.

Her reason, he didn’t believe a single word of it.

"Give me a better reason." Coldly, he said again.

Summer Sutton seemed not to expect that he completely didn’t believe her, but since she had already spoken, she could only stubbornly continue.

"I told you, that’s the reason." Her gaze shifted stiffly away; Summer Sutton didn’t dare to look at him directly.

Watt looked at her coldly, seemingly pondering over her words.

Summer Sutton cautiously glanced at him, not knowing how credible she appeared in his eyes.

Watt remained silent for a long while after her words, not probing further, simply saying slowly, "In that case, rest abroad for a while then!"

Before Summer Sutton could relax, he added, "I’ll come to see you every ten days." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Summer Sutton looked at him in astonishment, unable to believe what she heard.

"No, no! Aren’t you busy? I’m an adult, I don’t need company, just focus on your work. Don’t worry about me! I can take care of myself." She seemed a bit flustered, waving her hands repeatedly.

Seeing her like this made Watt’s gaze sharp again.

The two of them stood there in the garden in a standoff, just looking at each other without knowing how much time passed until a voice suddenly broke the silence, "Summer, what are you doing there?"

A strange male voice startled the two of them in the garden. Summer Sutton stiffly turned her face to see Manuel Ink standing not far away, her face turning pale.

Watt slowly turned his head, following her gaze to Manuel Ink’s face, and his eyes instantly grew cold.

The two men’s gazes met, and because of the distance, Summer Sutton couldn’t see Manuel Ink’s expression clearly, only Watt’s.

Watt’s gaze was icy, cold as a piercing wind, even lowering the pressure in the garden.

"Is this the reason you refuse to go back?" Still staring at Manuel Ink, Watt coldly asked.

"No!" Summer Sutton was truly panicked, waving her hands several times, trying to explain, but the situation seemed too complicated to clarify.

"Then what is it?" Watt pressed on.

Summer Sutton wore a distressed look, not knowing how to clarify things.
