Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons
Chapter 949 - 821: Spirit Communication Flower
Umberto patted Harry after learning some information, then talked to the old lady.
"I roughly understand. So, may I ask if there’s anything peculiar around the village since the child was born?"
Hearing this, the old lady began to ponder.
After a while, she still didn’t seem to recall anything.
"I know, I know."
Harry waved his hand, looking at Umberto and his grandmother’s gaze, he immediately said, "The incline above the village."
"There’s a cave there, inside is a small lake, Clark said, it’s the place discovered when I was born, it’s our secret base."
The child should be only six or seven years old, which means it must have been told by an older child.
After listening, Umberto nodded.
"Well, let me take my leave first."
He then rose up, shouldered the wooden box beside him.
Kane and the others followed him out, waving at Harry.
Now knowing they wouldn’t want to harm him, Harry also waved with a smile.
The old lady sat on the wooden stool, quietly watching.
After they walked out, they headed toward the path at the back.
That’s the road up the mountain.
As they walked, Umberto spoke about the information regarding the spirit within the child.
He knew that these few behind him must be curious.
"The spirit dwelling within Harry is extremely rare to see, this is the first time I’ve encountered it. It’s only recorded in books, said to mainly inhabit other continents."
However, there are no other continents now, it’s uncertain, if luck allows, perhaps the mist captured some other fragments.
As they spoke, they’d arrived at the mountain path’s side, and started walking up the mountain.
By now, the sun had completely set behind the mountain, only traces of light remaining in the sky.
But once they crossed the path, the surroundings began to darken.
The dense forest around blocked the remaining light.
Kane waved his hand.
A bright light directly appeared overhead, illuminating the surroundings brightly as daylight.
Umberto, seeing the sudden light, wasn’t surprised, already accustomed to these people’s abilities, wanting what they desire.
Then he continued.
"The spirit capable of making things drawn come real is called the Spirit Communication Flower."
"Spirit Communication Flower?"
Why does this spirit have such a strange name?
It completely doesn’t match its ability.
Umberto nodded, "Because the essence of this spirit is not what resides within the person, its essence has always been outside."
Speaking, he exhaled a cloud of mist.
This mist, after being released, began drifting forward as if guiding him.
Umberto hence adjusted his direction, following behind the mist.
"It is said its essence is a massive flower-like spiritual body, its dispersed pollen will gather, then enter the bodies of gifted children."
"And this pollen is why things drawn by those possessed become real."
"As more and more things are drawn, more pollen is required, and the flower will disperse more pollen."
By this time, they had followed behind the mist, seeing the cave not far away.
Upon approaching, they realized the cave was rather big, the height at the entrance being around two to three meters.
Inside the cave, a pale blue light radiated, looking at it alone was extraordinary.
Following the mist, they walked in.
Here it became apparent that the nearby spirits were much reduced, presumably already in the village’s outskirts.
But the magic power within the cave gathered considerably.
And Umberto’s words began echoing within the cave.
"In the end, as more pollen accumulates within the body, the possessed person becomes a container for the pollen, unable to leave the designated range of the flower.
They can only live around here forever until the flower dies."
Upon hearing this, Kane curiously asked, "How long can the flower live?"
"Records show that the longest person who became a pollen container lived for 360 years alongside the flower."
"This flower doesn’t move its position?"
"No, once the flower roots completely, it begins dispersing pollen around."
After hearing Umberto’s reply, Kane nodded.
Momentarily unsure if this was a good thing.
After becoming a pollen container, the body doesn’t experience significant problems and can live long, and paintings can become real.
But they must forever remain within a certain range.
Listening to Umberto’s tone, he seemed to believe this wasn’t a good thing, indicating the range must be small.
If it’s like the mountainside here, living in such a place for a hundred years is indeed torture.
However, it depends on the person too.
This should be a choice with both advantages and disadvantages.
But upon careful consideration, there seems no choice at all.
Because it’s not that you want to become a pollen container, you can become.
And it’s not that you don’t want to be possessed, it won’t possess you.
At this point, they had reached the deepest part of the cave.
Here was a not too big nor small pool, judging from its size, roughly half a basketball court.
Under the light’s illumination, the bottom of the pool was clearly visible.
The water here was exceptionally clear.
This pool seemed instinctively gathering surrounding magic power, making the magic power inside the cave much higher than outside.
"Look over there, that should be it, right?"
Kreya pointed to the far side, the other side of the pool, opposite them.
At the edge of the pool, there was a gigantic blue flower, somewhat resembling a trumpet flower with numerous petals.
Upon closer inspection, the flower was actually formed by various intertwined lines.
The enormous flower was larger than an adult.
Blue sparkles were being emitted from the center of the flower’s pistil, disappearing into the air shortly after.
It looked like it was dispersing pollen.
"Is this the Spirit Communication Flower?"
Upon hearing Kane’s question, Umberto hesitated and nodded uncertainly, "I’m not entirely sure, I haven’t seen it before, but its appearance should align with the records."
"Then let’s take a closer look."
As Kane spoke, he waved his hand, and the surface of the pool was sealed with a layer of steel.
The group stepped onto it and walked toward the Spirit Communication Flower on the opposite side.
Umberto immediately followed.
Soon, the group began to observe the gigantic flower closely.
Among them, Meizike was the most meticulous observer.
"So, what do you plan to do now?" Kane asked nearby.
Umberto sat on the steel plate created by Kane underfoot, shaking his head somewhat dispiritedly.
"Actually, I just came to see if the Spirit Communication Flower was really causing trouble; I couldn’t be sure before."
"Now that you’ve confirmed it, what are you going to do?"
"Once confirmed, we must have the child leave the area temporarily, out of the range of the flower’s pollen dispersion, and let him live elsewhere."
"That’s quite a straightforward yet very practical solution."
Kane couldn’t help but tease.
Umberto could only shrug helplessly.
At this moment, Kane shook his head towards the flower in front of him, "What if we..."
Kane extended his hand and made a cutting gesture.
Watching Kane’s actions and thoughts, Umberto’s eyes widened.
"Run!"
As he shouted, the entire cave began to shake.
"Run, you just showed malice towards it; it can sense it."
Umberto sounded alarmed.
But Kane wasn’t in a hurry; he reached out to the cave wall beside him and picked up a piece of rubble, holding it in his hand.
Umberto continued to remind loudly, "This Spirit Communication Flower is different from other Spirits; its power can usually be roughly determined by its size, and such a large flower must be very powerful."
"Don’t be anxious; are we as weak as you think?"
Longbei walked over and patted Umberto on the shoulder.
Even though the entire cave shook more violently, and debris began to fall from above, the group remained completely unpanicked.
Kane clapped his hands, letting the stone in his hand fall.
"Quiet!"
As he spoke, the shaking of the entire cave instantly stopped.
Umberto widened his eyes at this scene.
The gigantic Spirit Communication Flower began to shake frantically, and pollen floated out like a swarm of insects.
"Watch your back." Umberto loudly reminded.
The group turned their heads for a glance.
The glowing pollen clusters trembled slightly in the air with movement.
A massive monster, its head almost reaching the cave ceiling, materialized.
This monster seemed to be formed of intertwined vines.
"So ugly."
Seeing the monster’s appearance, Lilu couldn’t help but scoff.
Then waved her magic wand.
"Make it look a bit nicer."
In a flash of colorful light, the gigantic monster instantly transformed into a small fluff ball the size of a human head, covered in soft white fur.
Seeing this form, Lilu nodded in satisfaction, "Much better now, add a bow."
As she spoke, a pink bow appeared as a decoration on the white fur.
Kane walked beside the Spirit Communication Flower.
He reached out to pat the flower.
To everyone’s surprise, Kane’s hand could touch the Spirits now.
"All I did was casually say something, and such a big reaction, wanting to kill me."
"Reacting so intensely, can’t let you stay."
As he spoke, he directly clawed his hand, making a pulling gesture.
A large portion of mud and stone, along with the gigantic Spirit Communication Flower, was pulled out.
Sensing it wasn’t a match for the people before it, the Spirit Communication Flower transformed into strands of pale blue lines, wanting to escape.
"You want to run? Not so easy."
Saying this, Kane clenched his fist.
A transparent shield appeared in the air, covered with densely packed Stone Concealment and array patterns.
Immediately enveloping the lines about to disappear into the air.
The lines collided and burrowed within the transparent shield, but couldn’t find any escape gaps.
Finally, they reluctantly reformed into a gigantic Spirit Communication Flower within.
"That’s better, it looks quite nice this way."
The gigantic Spirit Communication Flower floated within the transparent shield, slowly rotating.
Emitting soft blue light, it was exceptionally eye-catching.
Not to mention its functions, its appearance alone made it a good decorative item.
Umberto stood beside him, staring dazedly at this scene.
