Chapter 1816: A Warning

After receiving the latest news from the frontlines, Feylis let out a soft sigh.

“The fall of the War Emperor of Challenger World is indeed regrettable. I heard that, in its early years, that large-sized star domain once produced three overlords. Now that all three overlords have fallen, Challenger World’s decline may be inevitable.”

By this point, they were no longer operating near the Arid Expanse Worlds.

Centuries had passed. Feylis and her main legions were still stationed along the outer edge of the battlefield between the Magus Civilization and the Gallant Federation.

Feylis had a keen sense of the shifting tides of the civilizational battlefield.

After the war in the Arid Expanse Worlds ended, she did not continue pressing the offensive against the Grand Apocalypse World.

Instead, she shifted direction and led her legions, including Sein’s forces, into nearby star domains where the fighting was less intense.

Judging from the results, although Feylis had not made another fortune over the past few centuries, she had also avoided any major losses.

The earlier wars had already brought her more than enough gains. Now, she was simply slowing down and consolidating her position as much as possible.

After all, Feylis did not represent only herself. She also had to think about her apprentices, her grand apprentices, and the allied deities who depended on them.

Only by moving forward steadily could one go far.

Standing before Feylis at that moment was a Rank Six knight from the Alveroth Empire.

This Rank Six knight seemed quite well-informed. With a faint smile, he said, “That doesn’t necessarily mean Challenger World is destined to decline completely.”

“The competitive structure of that world is actually quite interesting. I’ve personally traveled to that remote alliance star domain before. Given its contributions during the Clash of Civilizations, along with the support of the Magus Alliance, another truly exceptional powerhouse may rise there, perhaps even another overlord.”

He continued, “Not to mention, that large-sized alliance plane has deep ties with the Jehannah Kingdom. I doubt the Jehannah Kingdom would simply stand by and watch Challenger World decline.”

“Oh? Are you referring to...?” Feylis asked, seeming to think of someone.

The Rank Six knight appeared to know exactly who she meant and nodded.

“Although Sir Aeberton has enjoyed great prestige within the Magus Civilization in recent years, I still believe the one truly worthy of being called the strongest knight of Magus World is that man from the Jehannah Kingdom,” he remarked with a sigh.

Feylis was quite familiar with the inner workings of the Magus Civilization’s upper ranks and agreed with this Rank Six knight.

Still, she did not dwell too much on such matters, especially when they involved the overlord-level figures.

The fighting across the frontlines of the Clash of Civilizations was growing more intense.

At this stage, it was even harder for Sein to request a few centuries of rest from the Magus Civilization’s leadership than it had been at the very beginning of the war.

Under the current circumstances, the Magus Civilization would already be showing him special favor if it granted him even fifty years of respite.

But for Sein, a break that short would serve little real purpose.

Because of that, he had stopped bringing up the idea of rest altogether and had remained active across the civilizational battlefields in recent years.

In fact, not long after completing the mission his grandmaster had assigned him to support the Magus Civilization legions in the Brasso Star Domain, Sein received another new order.

This time, he was to travel to the Lumette Star Domain and deliver a shipment of supplies to the Magus Civilization forces stationed there.

Lumette lay extremely close to the Gallant Federation’s home star domain—no, it was practically within the federation’s territory.

However, for nearly ten thousand years, the Gallant Federation had designated it as a “conservation zone” in order to preserve the Lumetteans, which stood on the brink of extinction.

The Lumetteans were a unique, blue-blooded species whose blood, flesh, and bones all possessed extremely high medicinal value.

At its height, the Lumette Star Domain had ranked among the stronger civilizations of the medium-sized world category, with one peak Rank Six being and several ordinary Rank Six beings.

But after being conquered by the Gallant Federation, the Lumette Star Domain had effectively become the federation’s living blood bank.

Had the federation not continued sending resources and supplies there every century, this world would likely have long since declined to the level of an ordinary medium-sized plane.

At present, the Lumette Star Domain had only a single Rank Six creature left.

Unfortunately, that being had recently been killed by a Magus Civilization powerhouse.

The one who killed that Rank Six Lumette creature was none other than the very person to whom Sein was delivering supplies this time—Lorthisra, the Spider Queen.

Since their last long-distance call, Sein had not been in contact with Lorthisra for quite some time. He had not expected her to have been fighting in this medium-sized star domain over the past few years.

The fact that she was receiving resources from the Magus Alliance also meant that the army under her command was by no means an “unofficial” force.

When Sein saw Lorthisra and the legions she commanded, even he could not help marveling at the depth of her power.

The sheer size of that army, numbering in the tens of millions, was not something Sein could assemble anytime soon.

And that was without even mentioning the vast number of evil deities and powerful dark creatures under her command.

Sein also spotted several powerful synthesized undead chimera beasts, each likely possessing strength somewhere between Rank Five and Rank Six.

They reminded him of the ones he had seen years ago in the soul tower where the Spider Queen had stayed in Blackhaven.

“Oh my. After all these years, you’ve become much more mature and composed, haven’t you, Master Sein?” the Spider Queen teased.

With a chuckle, she added, “I still remember when you were only a clueless Rank Three mage, running for your life after wandering into another world and provoking the local evil gods.”

A person’s status and the respect they received were always tied to their strength and influence.

This time, Sein had come on behalf of the Magus Alliance to deliver supplies and resources to Lorthisra.

With Fermera standing silently at his side, Lorthisra naturally could no longer treat him with the same casual disregard she had shown when they first met.

After so many years apart, Lorthisra herself had also changed quite a bit.

Although she said that Sein had become more mature and composed, it was actually Lorthisra who had changed even more.

Glancing at her red lips and ample chest, Sein smiled and replied, “I was only able to achieve so much in Faeloria thanks to your guidance and assistance back then, Lady Lorthisra.”

“I also heard that you achieved another great victory in the recent fighting in the Lumette Star Domain. Where do you plan to go next? Are you going to push straight into the heart of the Gallant Federation?” he asked.

Sein’s flattery made the smile on Lorthisra’s face grow even wider.

Even so, much of the Spider Queen’s attention was fixed on Fermera, who stood behind Sein with a frosty expression.

It was obvious that Lorthisra was also interested in examining Sein’s Rank Six robot.

Unfortunately for her, Sein was no longer the young mage she could easily manipulate now.

At Sein’s question, the smile on Lorthisra’s face faded slightly.

“No, I have no plans to push deep into the federation’s territory just yet. Not long ago, I received some troubling warnings from my father.”

“You’ve heard of the Amenkha Empire, yes?” she suddenly asked.
