SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes
Chapter 113: Stampede
A minor explosion ensued as the Magic Bullet struck the first Earth Bison on the lead of the stampede.
The bison immediately let out a painful wail while it fell to the ground.
The stampede did not stop because of it, though.
The Earth Bison that fell was ignored and was even stomped by its companion as they continued forward without pause.
Desther saw the scene but did not comment about it.
His only goal was to kill all of these Earth Bison and hand them over to Victor as points so that he could earn some Awakened Credits.
The stampede was actually a dangerous phase for those who wanted to hunt the Earth Bisons.
Those who tried to stop it were either injured or grievously injured; there was no in-between.
The same was not the case for Desther, though.
With an overwhelming strength difference, there was no way that he would be injured, much less lost, against the Earth Bison’s stampede.
With a stomp, his figure bolted like lightning and met the stampede head-on.
Four simultaneous Magic Bullets were shot out toward the incoming Earth Bisons. Each bullet was the size of a fist, and each Earth Bison hit by it would immediately topple over—dead.
Those that continued the stampede finally arrived in front of Desther.
Their eyes were full of rage as they charged toward him without any care.
It seemed as if Desther did not exist, and the only thing they could see was a path for their stampede that must not be blocked.
This was a mistake, though.
The one in front of them was no longer an ordinary human after all.
It was a Supreme!
Dether went into a horse stance and faced his body diagonally toward the incoming Earth Bisons.
His instinct was honed by the Supreme Combat Art. This was what it suggested, and Desther was willing to give it a try.
His hand was clenched tightly into a fist, drawing it back beside his chest, while the other hand faced forward as if using it to aim.
Like an arrow nocked on a bow, his shoulder muscle was taut as his arm arched like a bowstring.
His eyes were calm and still as he looked at the incoming danger.
The stampede grew closer. Smoke rose as the stampede continued to stomp the ground as they charged forward without care.
Twenty meters.
Fifteen meters.
Ten meters.
Five meters.
And just when the Earth Bison reached 3 meters away from him, Desther finally released the fist that he was holding with all his might.
For a moment, Dether felt a slight resistance in his fist as he fired it forward.
After the resistance was overcome, a deafening sound echoed in the surroundings.
BOOM!
With a strength attribute of over a thousand, his fist actually created a sonic boom. The fist tore through the air as a deafening sound echoed in the surroundings.
As if a huge caliber gun were released, the air cracked as Desther’s fist landed on a bison’s face at the next second.
When his fist landed on the bison’s face, he did not feel any sort of resistance at all.
The face of the bison was obliterated, its whole body, almost five hundred kilograms in weight, smashed backward with great force.
And this was not the end of it.
The impact of his fist was actually so strong that it created a gust of wind, blowing some of the Earth Bison’s away from him.
Although the gust of wind was not lethal, Desther was surprised that he could actually do such a thing.
He did not expect his fist would be able to break the barrier of sound either.
He knew for a fact how impressive this feat was.
His fist breaking the barrier of sound literally meant that it had a force and speed equal to that of a fighter jet.
It was fortunate that his body was extremely strong as well. Reinforced with a thousand attributes of Vitality, and supplemented by the Supreme Body, his fist was literally unscathed even after delivering that devastating strike that even created a gust of wind.
The gusts of wind manage to disorganize the stampede.
Their momentum had stopped, but some still charged past Dether.
It was only when they realized that the stampede had grown weaker that they dragged their hooves to the ground and forcefully turned around to search for the missing Earth Bisons of their group.
When they realized that some were injured and some were dead, the rage in their eyes could no longer be contained.
The Earth Bison’s roared at the top of their lungs. Their hooves scratched the ground before they charged toward Desther, creating another stampede in the process.
Not only that, as if sensing the severity of the situation, as they stomped forward, the ground beneath actually trembled even more.
Desther saw their actions and did not take them lightly.
He was not too familiar with their other skills, but he knew that they were capable of controlling the earth.
And as expected, multiple spikes made of earth actually rose in front of the Earth Bisons.
The earth spikes did not stop midway, continuing toward Desther with swift speed.
If not for the fact that Desther’s Agility was over a thousand, it would have taken him some effort to evade these strikes.
But with his current strength, he did not think that he would need to evade at all.
Having previously tested the capability of the Supreme Body, he knew such a strike would not be able to do him any harm.
Without wasting time to evade, Desther instead charged forward to meet the charging bisons and the earth spikes head-on.
As the earth spikes came in contact with his body, they immediately disintegrated back to the earth without causing any damage to him.
His pain tolerance had risen along with his attributes as well. He did not feel anything as those attacks landed on him at all.
As he charged forward, he once again used multiple Magic Bullets and shot them toward the herd of Earth Bisons.
More Earth Bisons fell while Desther continued to charge and punched each of them in the face if one ever got near him.
He did not use all his strength in the following round, though. The horn of the Earth Bisons was valuable. He could not afford to waste them, could he?
Every time he struck an Earth Bison’s skull, a dong sound would be heard.
The Earth Bisons could only curse under their breath, unable to do anything toward Desther at all.
Each bump of his fist toward their skull, they would immediately see countless stars rotating above their head. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Not wanting to prolong their suffering, though, Desther would immediately deliver a strike with his dagger to end their life.
Blood began to dye the ground beneath.
For the first time in a while, Dether actually got some blood on his hoodie.
This was partly because he got careless with the fist that created a sonic boom and, at the same time, because the Earth Bisons kept on charging toward him with bloodied hooves.
Since there was nothing he could do about it, Desther decided not to mind them for now.
Instead, he focused on killing the whole herd, not leaving any of them behind.
With their numbers, it took Desther less than ten minutes to finish them all without a problem.
Their bodies now lay everywhere.
Now, he must deal with the aftermath of the battle. Allow Noah to take pictures and send them to Victor, and at the same time, take all the valuable materials in the Earth Bison’s body for extra income.
He looked around and noticed that Noah was nowhere to be found.
Desther nodded his head in approval upon realizing that Noah had taken his advice and was not dumb enough to follow him on the battlefield.
A weak companion that followed order was surely more valuable than a strong companion that was hard-headed.
Noah had truly learned the ways of Desther—being cautious at all times.
However, the battle was already over, so it was now time to call him over.
He did not know where he was as of this moment, though.
Using Sense, Desther immediately saw the glowing orb of Noah in the distance. From the looks of it, he had actually climbed atop a tree while observing the battle. He was now climbing down, but perhaps he was not used to it; climbing down was not easy for him.
As he looked at him through Sense, though, Desther realized that a few spots of light had also appeared at the edge of the skill’s range.
Judging by their glowing orb in his ’eyes’, Desther realized that they were not monsters, but humans, just like them.
There were a total of six of them. All seemed to be pretty strong. Their orbs are almost as big as Noah.
He guessed that they must be around level 5 at the minimum and level 8 at the maximum.
One of them in particular has a bigger orb compared to the others. He assumed that the owner of that must be their leader.
Like him and Noah, they must be students at the same school too.
The Veldora Woods was quite enormous. This was the first time that Desther and Noah had met other students.
Desther wondered who they were.
They were approaching his location, though. Whoever they were, he would find out soon enough.
Noah was also making his way over.
He ran frantically and seemed to be in a hurry. Dether guessed that he must have seen the other parties as well and was now coming over as soon as he could to warn him.
A few moments later, the six students in his Sense skill finally appeared in his real vision.
Looking at them, Desther was definitely surprised the moment he found out who they were.
Their first words were not exactly pleasant either.
"Did you just steal and kill our Earth Bison?"
