SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes
Chapter 94: Exchange
Adding the points was quite easy.
Desther just had to will it, and the Profile would do the rest.
Now, 121 points were directly added to all of his attributes.
The familiar surge of strength once again engulfed his entire being. The sensation was more intense than the last time he experienced it. It seems that adding over a hundred Free Attributes all at once was not something to scoff at.
The surge of ecstasy rushed to his brain as he felt every fiber of his body screaming with strength, vitality, and endless power.
The illusion brought by the sudden increase of strength was truly one he always loathed but at the same time craved.
At the same moment his attributes increased, Desther also felt the strange sensation disappear.
Whether it was truly gone for good or just gone because he could no longer feel it, Desther did not know.
But after he allocated all of his attributes, he felt safe and was no longer as tense. No matter what came up, he was now confident enough to defeat it without causing any commotion.
Strangely enough, they no longer encountered freaked-out monsters after that incident.
Due to it, the two of them were able to return to the main base safely, to say the least.
Arriving at the base, Desther and Noah immediately saw the drastic changes it underwent while they were away.
The clearing was now bright with a lot of lights present. Tents of various sizes and shapes stood with multiple people roaming about.
Judging by their get-up, Desther and Noah realized that most of them were teachers or guards hired by them to maintain security. Students could also be seen going in and out of some of the tents.
From the looks of it, they must be submitting and exchanging their spoils for points and then converting them into items they could use for this challenge. This was exactly what Desther and Noah were here for as well.
As they entered the base, they were approached by a guard, asking for their identification. Both of them showed their Professional Badges before they were allowed to roam further. They then asked the location of where they could submit their spoils and exchange them for points.
Moving further ahead, they saw the infirmary full of people.
From the looks of it, there were actually multiple students that were injured from this activity.
Fortunately, there didn’t seem to be any deaths since there was no announcement or any kind of commotion.
After a while, the two of them finally reached the tent to exchange their spoils for points.
The tent was bigger compared to the others. One look and one could see that it was also more luxurious-looking compared to others around it.
When they entered, they were greeted by the sight of a teacher polishing his glasses.
He has auburn hair paired with a black mustache. Sitting behind the table, he turned his gaze toward Desther and Noah before nodding his head.
"Are you here to exchange your points as well?"
Noah nodded his head in affirmation.
"Yes, teacher. I wonder what’s the conversion rate of our spoils?"
The teacher wore his glasses and stood up from his seat.
"It depends on what items you are converting to points. But generally, it should be about the same rate as in the market. If you want, your spoils could also be converted to items directly. By the way, may I see the spoils you want to exchange?"
Noah nodded his head and dropped the duffle bag he was holding on the floor.
He then poured the items out, allowing the teacher to see what was inside of it.
"Demon Bunny’s middle claw? Valuable materials. Could be used to forge arrow heads and could be used for small daggers as well."
One glance and the teacher was able to identify the items contained in the bag.
The only valuable items the Ravenous Lizards had were their leather. Since it would be time-consuming to harvest them, Desther and Noah decided not to take it. They were not that valuable anyway—weight to price ratio, that is.
The teacher squatted down and inspected the middle claws.
"They are in good condition. Three points for each set. That should be good enough already!"
Noah took a subtle glance at Desther. Only after seeing that he did react that he nodded his head to the teacher. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"Thank you, teacher!"
The teacher nodded his head and began to count how many sets of middle claws were in the bag.
After a while, the teacher stood up and closed the bag.
"A total of 100 sets, no more, no less. That should be 300 points. Considering that you’re the first to convert this many middle claws all at once, I’ll hand out a bonus of 50 points. Just a reminder that these points will not be included in the rankings and could only be used for exchanging items available in the store, understood?"
Noah nodded his head in understanding.
"You can put the points in my balance, teacher."
To avoid complications, Desther and Noah had already talked about this earlier.
With this additional 350 points, Noah’s total balance directly surpassed 500, including the points he got for his submission.
Their original plan was actually just to exchange points and get new weapons and armors.
Noah’s points breaking through the 500 mark was not within their expectations. After all, they thought that each set of middle claws could only grant them 2 points.
Since this was the case, a change of plan was necessary.
"Let’s convert your points for the Space Bag."
"Oh, okay."
Noah did not hesitate and immediately agreed.
Although this was out of their plan, since the order came from Desther, he decided not to ask any questions.
Noah turned to look at the teacher, and the teacher looked at him and then at Desther in turn.
"Are you sure? Blink if you’re in trouble."
The teacher was actually humorous. After Noah nodded his head, the teacher no longer inquired further as he went back to get something.
When he returned, an item was already in his hand.
Handheld and seemed lightweight. The item looked as white as cotton and was as big as an adult’s fist. At the top of it, a brown string was attached, holding whatever was inside of it in place.
The Space Bag, which looked exactly like a drawstring bag, may look small, but it was actually holding a huge space inside of it.
"Here’s your Space Bag. It’s made from the pouch of Space Kangaroo, a rare monster that could not be easily seen. If you ever see one, do not hesitate to hunt it. Aside from their Space Pouch, Space Kangaroo also provides a lot of valuable materials."
"Thank you, teacher!"
Noah nodded his head and took out the Space Bag from the teacher’s hand.
"Teacher, we want to get some armor and weapons as well," Desther said.
This was their main reason for going here. Although there was a change of plan, it doesn’t mean that the original would be abandoned.
As of this moment, Desther still has around 30 points in his balance. It should be enough for them to get a weapon, shield and armor for Noah.
Desther doesn’t need such things for now. For him, the Space Bag was more important, offering them convenience moving forward.
"Sure! Just tell me what kind of armor and weapons you want and I’ll get it."
Noah turned to look at Desther, seemingly asking for approval.
After seeing him nod, Noah finally told the teacher the items he wanted.
"I want this... this... and also this."
After pointing at the items he wanted, the teacher nodded in understanding and went back once more.
He was holding three items the moment he got back.
One was a large club ladened with sharp spikes around the tip. It looked heavy with its gray metallic luster. The grip was wrapped in soft leather, allowing better handling and safety.
The second item was a round shield with a color of gray metal as well. It was also adorned with spikes, with the corners reinforced with an even stronger metal. One look and one could tell that it was quite heavy as well.
The last item was actually a dagger. It was black in color and seemed to be made out of obsidian. The dagger looked sharp and with a good handle that seemed to be made of wood.
These three items were what Noah had chosen. Most of them were made of good materials and should be able to deal considerable damage to Tier 0, and even some weaker Tier 1 monsters.
For their price, it was already a good deal to get them.
The first two were obviously for his own, while the last one was for Desther.
He had noticed that Desther was still using an ordinary dagger while harvesting the middle claws of the Demon Bunnies. Although usable, it could definitely not compare to the obsidian dagger the teacher showed them.
