SSS Awakening: Starting With Infinite Soul Copy
Chapter 197: Zisel’s Fight(II)
Banshees were very well renowned amongst both the Human and the Supernatural realms.
Humans, for one, feared them and didn’t fear them at the same time.
Among all Supernaturals, the Banshees held the lowest record for harm inflicted on humans.
The majority of them usually just ignored humans completely, only reacting when attacked.
And it was their reaction that chilled humanity.
The Banshees had mastered something almost impossible for any human or Supernatural.
The powerful ability to absolutely control sonic force, turning what should normally be a harmless scream into such a powerful weapon that the brain of a human could be made to directly explode in his or her head.
It absolutely ignored whatever defense an awakener could pull out, and even blocking your ears didn’t stop the scream from ringing in your brain.
The only way to stop it was to either hide behind something solid... or overpower the air that the sonic wave traveled through, cracking it and interrupting the transfer of the attack.
Zisel had long been thrown backwards from the sonic wave, and it continued towards White, who simply had one of his wings placed over himself, and it easily resisted the full power of the scream.
When he lowered the wing, he could see the Banshee flashing forward before him, its mouth opened, preparing to unleash a scream right before White’s face.
It did, a powerful scream less than inches away, but then White’s image still dispersed into motes, and the Banshee turned its head away, finding White standing on a balcony about 3 meters high up, rolling his eyes at it, before ignoring her and turning to Zisel.
"Banshee screams get automatically activated the second you get within range of them, Zisel."
White called from his reclining position.
"You won’t be able to pull out little slashes on it. You’ll just keep taking sonic waves after sonic waves."
He explained, as Zisel picked up her blade, and the Banshee turned its attention from White back to her.
A single step after the other, it came forward, and a cold light gleamed through Zisel’s eyes as ghostly light began to burn in their depths.
VROOOOOOM!
A purple trail followed Zisel this time as she flashed towards the Banshee.
Appearing a meter away, as expected, the creature’s body shook, preparing to unleash a scream, only for an incredibly bright flicker of green light to appear in the alleyway.
For a second, it was like a second sun had appeared, as the Banshee froze mid-scream.
Zisel jumped up high, spinning up into the sky above the Banshee, and when she was right above it, with their heads mere inches away, her blade jerked backwards, and then,
"Ghost Phantom Slash!"
VROOOOOOOOOOOM!
The phantom of a large green blade appeared as Zisel cleaved her short knife downwards.
It tore down straight for the Banshee, who snapped out of her pause just in time to look up and see the massive blade cleaving through her.
RUSSSTLE!
The ground shook as Zisel landed back onto the ground, crouched low, and the Banshee’s body fell into two halves that dropped onto the ground with a wet splatter.
CLAP!
CLAP!
CLAP!
The sound of clapping followed next as Zisel exhaled roughly, turning up to find White slowly hovering back to the ground.
"Now that! was impressive."
He said as she forced out a smile through her exhaustion.
"You’ve run out of energy, though."
He added, as her body tilted to the side, only to be grabbed by White, who brought her back to her feet.
"It takes a lot of energy to use Ghost Phantom Slash."
She forced out as she was helped to sit.
"How many can you pull off before you fall exhausted?"
White asked.
"Five at most."
She said.
"That’s good enough. Get used to slashing five times in a fight, then."
White said, and she paused, looking at him in confusion at his words.
"You think to yourself that if you keep the ultimate attack for last, you somehow increase your chances of winning in the end."
White began,
"So you run around, attacking and dealing tiny damages, but at the same time, all you do is accumulate exhaustion for yourself."
"It’s safe, don’t get me wrong, but it’s an inefficient way of combat."
"You’re essentially going half-out. You shouldn’t go half-out in a life-and-death battle."
"Besides, that running around does nothing but delay the battle’s end. The more you delay a battle, the more you increase the chances of the unexpected happening."
White said, and in that moment, his hands silently grabbed at the knife that she held, as he stepped into the middle of the alleyway and pointed her blade forward.
She looked at where he pointed.
There was silence there, and the end was a bit darker, but then,
THUMP!
THUMP!
The sound of heavy thumping echoed out, and she watched as a huge creature slowly stepped out.
"Is that... Flying Toadchuks!?"
She asked in surprise.
The creature was a green-like toad with tiny bat-like wings behind it.
It leapt forward instead of walking, covering a couple of meters while large lines on its face steamed, bursting out from it.
White had seen this creature before, even in his new life.
It was a cousin of one of those bloody Supernaturals that destroyed the ’discreet’ jet given to him by Commander Zoltan when he tried to infiltrate the Supernatural realm for the Alpha lair recording.
"Watch closely at me, Zisel."
White said, bringing Zisel’s attention back to him.
"I’ll use just the amount of power that your Ghost Phantom Slash has and will take it down in just five strikes."
He said, and in that moment,
The creature’s maw opened wide, flames spewing out.
STEP
STEP
STEP
The sound of footsteps echoed out as White calmly stepped down without rushing towards the creature, slowly raising his bladed hand high above his head.
BLEEEERGH!
It was like vomit from the creature, but what came was a massive, slimy ball of green corrosive liquids.
Such an attack, Zisel imagined herself dodging by running up the wall, but White didn’t move to the side an inch, nor did his walking leg stop at all.
Only one thing changed.
His raised hand... it slashed down.
CLEAAAAAAAVE!
