Wilderness

Time passed,

The Beast Tamers in large numbers started entering the wilderness. Their hope was to do more missions and to earn money.

But they quickly came across more than one corrupted beast. A fight immediately took place.

Initially, they fought well, but things changed soon.

As time passed, the Beast Tamers started to realize something was off. The number of beasts was greater than they had expected.

Before they could kill the corrupted beasts, a group of corrupted beasts appeared from nowhere and joined the attack all of a sudden.

It was not something taken into account. It didn't take long for the Beast Taming Teams to suffer. They quickly gave up the fight and returned to the city gate.

Upon returning to the city gate, they informed the guards and captains of the situation. The matter needed to be taken seriously.

The captains and the guards noticed the situation. They heard the same thing from more than one team returning from the wilderness.

Everyone had encountered corrupted beasts within a short distance. Because of the large numbers, they had to return.

If they continued to ignore the problem, then the beasts could reach the city gate and attack them.

The Captains became serious. They reported to the Elders, who then reported back to the Governors.

That evening,

Governor Martin left the office. He flew over the city and entered the wilderness. He was moving through mid-air.

The reports that came from the elders at the border alerted him earlier. His earlier suspicions grew stronger.

He thought it was normal for the corrupted beasts to come back, but it would usually take a few days to feel the impact.

Yet, the Beast Tamers had encountered a large number of corrupted beasts in a short span of time.

It puzzled him. How could the corrupted beasts make a decision to return at almost the same time as other corrupted beasts?

Martin felt something was terribly wrong. He hoped he was wrong about it.

Swoosh!

A couple of seconds later, he entered the inner area. He immediately spotted many corrupted beast groups resting under the trees and shade.

He had heard the reports, but looking at it himself, he understood the seriousness. This place was the inner area. It was so close to the city gate.

If they wanted, they could have easily charged at the city gate right now. Martin was confused. If this was the situation in the inner area, then what about the core area and the border? Those two are the primary habitats of the corrupted beasts.

Swoosh!

Martin didn't waste time. He quickly reached the core area. His expression grew uglier. He spotted Tier-6 and Tier-7 beasts in large numbers.

"It's impossible," he uttered.

There were more than hundreds. The beast tide was recently over; the numbers of higher-tier beasts should not be this high.

These beasts had returned to the wilderness at more or less the same time, yet there was no infighting among them.

Martin's eyes flickered. He was not naive. He knew something was wrong. He felt an urge to investigate the border.

Swoosh!

He didn't waste time and left the place. He headed to the border. He didn't know why, but he felt like it was a prelude to the next beast tide.

While moving through the air, he came across even more beasts coming to the wilderness. They were coming from the border.

A few minutes later,

He reached the border. The land across the border was the unexplored region. The area where he was standing right now was not the one he had investigated before.

It was a new area of the border. The corrupted beasts were simply crossing the plain land. Martin raised his eyebrows and observed something.

He noticed that the four-legged beast groups were quietly walking without causing any problems. It made him raise his eyebrows.

He had never heard of or seen a silent invasion, especially with corrupted beasts. These corrupted beasts were entering the wilderness without making any noise.

Martin was shocked. He quickly noticed what was wrong. The corrupted beasts were walking as if they were being controlled or following orders.

A storm set off in his heart.

The more he observed the beasts, the more he felt something was wrong. He then quickly crossed the border, wanting to investigate where the corrupted beasts were coming from.

...

Red Moon Chamber

Jeremy Night had been practicing. He was now using the starlight thread to practice. He was trying to stretch and bend the starlight thread as much as he wanted.

There was a steel puppet in front of him. He extended his index finger and attacked the steel puppet.

Boom!

In a flash, the starlight thread extended and struck the steel puppet.

Boom!

An explosion occurred. The edge of the starlight thread tore through the steel and left a hole in the chest of the puppet.

The steel puppet fell backward. If it had landed on a corrupted beast, the attack would have killed it in one shot.

Boom!

One after another, he shot out starlight threads at the steel puppet. In the blink of an eye, the sharp, long threads struck the puppet.

Boom!

One after another, the starlight threads tore through the puppet's body. In a flash, the puppet's body was filled with holes.

Seeing the result, Jeremy Night was satisfied. He wanted to test it against corrupted beasts, but he was not allowed to do that yet.

He stopped practicing and went to take a shower. He spent 20 minutes in the bath, then walked out and changed into comfortable clothes.

He sat on the sofa, leaned back, and picked up his online device to watch the news. When the news articles appeared on the news feed, he was shocked.

The news was all about the wilderness. He hadn't paid attention to the news since morning. He clicked one of the news articles and began to read it.

A few minutes later,

Jeremy Night's expression changed drastically. Things went beyond his expectations. He didn't expect the corrupted beasts' numbers to have increased this much.

He didn't know whether it was a sign of the next beast tide.

Jeremy Night calmed his heart.
