Chapter 920: Lone Cliff Mission

4th Zone - Special Base

Jeremy Night goes through the mission descriptions. This time, he was not only looking at the mission type, but he was paying attention to the mission location as well.

He doesn’t want any mission near the base. It would be easy for his enemies to track him. What’s more? He was not clear whether all the elders accepted him or not.

Maybe one of the elders could be the mastermind. He doesn’t want to rule out the possibility.

Jeremy Night’s gaze paused on the mission. One thing, the Tier was not mentioned here, so anyone can do the mission. Furthermore, the location seemed to be far away from the special base.

So he doesn’t have to worry about the enemies finding him soon. Then, he liked the mission rewards as well. If he completed the mission, his ranking would soar.

Not only that, but the time limit was not mentioned either. This mission suits him. He then showed the device to Elder Smith.

Elder Smith accepted the mission and looked at the details. He was taken aback because the mission was dangerous.

The lone cliff was located far away from the base. Higher-tier beast movements are normal there. If Jeremy Night finds himself in trouble, it would take some time for rescue to arrive.

He was confused about why Jeremy Night selected this mission. But when his gaze fell on the reward details, he understood.

He sighed inwardly.

"The young man wasted the previous mission. He wants this mission to compensate him with rewards," Smith thought.

"Are you sure?" Smith asked.

"Yes," Jeremy replied.

Smith didn’t say anything. He immediately began to register the mission.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night felt cold gazes on his back. He could tell that people were keeping an eye on him. He was so used to it.

He could tell the enemies were going to know his movements. He decided to enter the wilderness right away. He looked toward Smith and frowned.

He didn’t know whether anyone else could view the mission. But if he alerted Elder Smith, the elder would ask unnecessary questions.

He didn’t want the enemy to know that he knew about their plan. After the registration was done, he left the administration building and went to the wilderness.

Before stepping inside the wilderness, he texted Elder John. Elder John texted him back, advising him to be careful.

One hour later,

Jeremy Night had entered the deeper area of the wilderness. From the map, he knew that the lone cliff was located even deeper than the green swamp.

More than the enemies from the base, he needed to be careful of the higher-tier beasts. He was using his eye power to avoid them.

Meanwhile,

Captain Rick had already left the room. He learned that the target had entered the wilderness already. He didn’t even go to the administration building.

He headed toward the wilderness. Midway there, he learned the news from Elder Carter. He was about to step inside the wilderness.

Just then, he saw the mission description, and he was shocked.

"Lone Cliff," Rick uttered.

He didn’t know what to say because he knew about the lone cliff. That place was dangerous even for second and third-year students.

He didn’t know why the young man had selected the mission. He frowned. He needed a Beast Taming Team to go to the lone cliff, but he didn’t have time for that.

He decisively entered the wilderness and went toward the lone cliff.

On the other hand, Elder Carter was pondering. He saw the mission details as well. He didn’t know why the young man had selected the lone cliff mission.

This place was dangerous not only for the young man but for Captain Rick as well. The next second, he gave a cold snort.

He wanted the young man dead. If Captain Rick died as well, it would be good news for him. He thought he would hear good news by tonight or tomorrow morning.

Time passed.

Jeremy Night was avoiding the beasts. However, he wasn’t able to avoid a Tier-5 Beast that was coming in his direction. It was a snake beast.

He unsheathed his blade. He didn’t want to waste energy on the beast. If the beast left, it would be good. If not, he would slay it.

It didn’t take long for both of them to cross paths.

Hiss!

The snake beast, with its gigantic body, was alerted upon seeing the human. It knew the strength of the Beast Tamers here.

But when it saw through the human, the snake beast was stunned. The human appeared to be weak. The next second, the beast’s demeanor changed.

Hiss!

It hissed out loud. It thought the human was a weak Beast Tamer, similar to the lower-tier beasts. The next second, the snake beast leaped toward the human.

Jeremy Night watched everything with a cold gaze. He understood what was going on. At first, the snake beast showed some alertness, but it changed its mind fast.

He covered his blade in starlight power.

"Shadow Slash"

When the beast got closer to him, he performed a shadow slash. He evaded the beast’s direct attack and swung his blade incredibly fast.

In a flash, the blade swept across the snake beast’s body. The starlight blade broke the scales and cut through the flesh in a single motion.

When he came to the other side and sheathed his blade, a long red line appeared on the beast’s side. The next second, blood gushed forth from the wound.

Hiss!

The beast hissed out loud, hissing in pain. The blade had almost touched its internal organs. If it had gone a little deeper, it would have sliced them.

The Tier-5 Beast gained clarity. It realized that the human was a dangerous person. It immediately fled from the place with its blade injury. Jeremy Night was not surprised.
