Chapter 249: New Power?

Stanley was silent the entire way through, thinking of how he saw the future so clearly and for so long. As far as he was aware, there was a power to warn him of the future and to see it happen merely 2 seconds ahead of him.

This vision had been nearly 4 hours ahead of him. Then... was that really just a dream as the others had tried to make him believe? Was he really wrong in all of this?

But the group had also been shocked by the things he had seen, by the things he had said.

This meant that even at part, what he had seen in his vision or his dream, had in fact been real. So, he could trust it. As for what power showed him such a vision, Stanley believed it was an advanced form of his future sight.

His powers came before they revealed themselves, so he believed this one to be the same. With it, he would have 7 different types of powers.

He could see the future, whether passively by sensing incoming danger or actively by seeing 2 seconds into the future each time.

He could slow down time, bringing everything to a crawl at a speed more than 60 times as slow as normal.

He could age slowly at the rate of nearly 3 times as slow as a normal human being and would live to be of a very old age.

He could tell when time was being messed with as he had the innate ability to tell how fast or slow time was moving.

He could slow or speed up the perception of time for someone else, which could only be gotten rid of when they realize that time was passing differently.

Finally, his body was strong enough to be dozens of times stronger than a normal human.

Adding onto all of those his new powers, he would have 7 in total.

7 in total, but only 5 truly practical at all. Of the 5, Slowed down time wasn’t as useful in this fight as he had seen the Lightning Nova reach the same speed as him as well.

Of the remaining 4, the man would know time was being messed with for him the moment he shot out lightning or moved. That might be useful, but only once or twice. He couldn’t rely on it all the time.

Of the remaining 3, his physical strength did not matter as the man would heal from any damage and was also fast enough to dodge his attacks if he needed to.

Of the remaining two, future sense would be the most helpful.

As for the last one, Stanley wondered if what he was experiencing right now was the same as well. What if he was asleep right now? Dreaming of what he was experiencing right now. What if this was a vision of the future?

How could he even tell?

Fred took the van into the city, the guards there letting them enter without even checking properly.

That was exactly what had happened last time as well. He looked around, the city the same as his memories.

A bustling crowd at the ground covered the city, cars and vans flew through the air on multiple layers, with VIPs flying up high. Snow fell all around them, and neon signs still shined brightly during the day.

They passed a hologram of a man chomping down on a burger, and then of a man shooting at some animated creatures, promoting a video game shop.

Everything was the same as he saw.

They arrived at their hotel at around 10:30. Sol looked fine on the outside, but on the inside, he was wrapped with wires that Nova had kept by herself.

Once they arrived in their room, Nova dragged him to a separate room where she made him sit on the bed.

"Alright, explain everything. I want to hear what is happening with you. I can’t have random variables popping this late in the plan," she said.

"The plan will fail. They know we’re coming and they know everything about us," Stanley told her.

"Okay," Nova said, not showing any surprise. "Explain then."

Stanley grimaced. He thought of ways to twist his words, to not tell her what was happening and yet make her believe that it was what was going on. But for someone whose power was supposed to be physical strength, he couldn’t connect a future dream to it at all.

Truth was the only thing he could tell. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"John, you need to tell me—"

"I’m a Nova," he said straightforwardly. No more hiding information.

Nova sat still for a while, not understanding what she was hearing. It took a few seconds for the words to process in her head and then her eyes went wide in shock.

"What?" she asked, still half in disbelief, trying to determine if she was being lied to for some reason. But she could see no sign of it in Stanley. "What do you mean by that?"

"Nothing other than what it means. Do you want to know why I’m so strong? It is because I’m a Nova. Simple as that. What happened in the van seems to be a new power of mine working without my control, about to come real," he said. "Most likely has to do with all the people that died in the Low."

Nova still couldn’t believe it. "You... are a Nova?" she asked again.

"Yes," Stanley said. "And one of my powers is to tell the immediate future. However, It seems I’m developing one that can tell the future hours ahead now. I’m not sure how it works, but it felt as if I lived through the entire thing that happens in the future."

Nova looked at him in shock. "How should I know to trust you?" she asked.

"I already gave you all the information I know," he said.

Nova thought back to the conversation when Vera knocked on the door and opened it hurriedly.

"Boss, I found something."
