Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance
Chapter 257: Fighting Ogre
Nova turned around and ran, leaving the underground lot parking lot for the two of them, so she could deal with her brother.
Ogre ran toward Nova, but Stanley arrived in front of him, slamming his sword onto the big man’s body.
Ogre thought nothing at first as he blocked the attack, but when he sensed the amount of energy he had had just from that one strike, he felt his heart grow numb.
He quickly moved back and started up front with wide eyes. "He’s strong. Be careful," he
Stanley and Fred were left alone in the room, surrounded by at least 8 different subordinates of the Lightning Nova. There would’ve been more had Stanley not killed a few when he first entered.
"That one can take all of my damage without getting hurt," Stanley pointed to Ogre. "And that one had toxic water. Be careful."
Fred nodded.
They did not know any of the other powers, but that wouldn’t matter as long as they managed to kill before they could use it.
"I’ll take care of the big guy and then handle the one on the left."
As soon as he said that, Stanley dashed and jumped Ogre. The man called Ogre had a simple power. Damage Nullification. No matter what damage he took, it would become null thanks to his powers.
The activation conditions were also quite simple. He just had to stop breathing. Even between breaths when he held air in his lungs, it worked.
To Stanley, none of that mattered. His blade held the force of a car flying at full speed. Each strike could shatter buildings, and the Ogre just took it without moving. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
A strike to the side of his chest, another to his left thigh, and then one to his shin. Stanley’s attacks varied and hit the Ogre in places he couldn’t dodge in time. All he could do was activate his shield, and hope that helped him.
A few people helped the Ogre, shooting their guns at Stanley. Not only did Stanley have a shield around him to protect himself, but he also could see the future and could easily dodge them.
Fred on the other side started shooting at people while running away. He wasn’t even looking back as he shot, and it all hit the shield of the person he targeted. The bullets didn’t pierce the shield, but they still hit him.
"Be careful, he can target without looking at you," one of them said and prepared an attack. Rubbing together his palm, he produced green fires and started throwing them at both Stanley and Fred.
He missed Fred, but the fire landed on Stanley, who had let it land as he saw the shield would block it. However, after it landed, he saw the future that would happen afterward.
The fire burned on the shield itself, spreading around without stopping. It ate away at his shield. Not only was the heat from the fire so much hotter than a regular fire, but it was also starting to cover his vision.
He had to do something quickly.
Stanley moved back, confused a little and panicking as well. He looked around and saw the man who rubbed his hands while green flames burned on them. He was looking to throw them again.
Stanley immediately held his sword backward and tossed it at the man as if it were the javelin. The sword flew in an arc, at a speed that broke the sound barrier twice before landing on the man.
The sword hit the shield at an angle and was unfortunately still too weak to break past it. It flew off in one direction, colliding with another person who was focusing on Fred with his gun.
The force of its strike was still enough to send both of them flying back. The one with the green flames struck one of the cars in the parking lot, and the other one struck a large pillar.
Stanley’s flames suddenly vanished. ’That’s good,’ he thought.
He rolled to the side, dodging a spray of toxic water before turning around to punch at the Ogre. His shield was giving out on him by now, and the punches were doing more and more damage.
Ogre tried to fight as well. He was using his guns to shoot at Stanley, but even at close range the bullets never hit him at all. Even when they did, they would just bounce off the shield.
Stanley took a deep breath and let time slow down. Between the slowly flickering shield that gave off ample time for Stanley to prepare his attack, Stanley’s fist struck the Ogre’s left ribs.
Then with his other hand, Stanley timed the next moment of shield being turned off and punched at his right ribs. Left and right, the speed at which his punches hit the man’s ribs like the beats of a hummingbird’s wings.
His hands were a blur to the rest of them and even Ogre wasn’t sure what was happening. All he could do was slowly sense the depleting energy in his body making him feel tired.
He had only once felt this tired and it was when his young master had electrocuted him to near death.
"No... N—"
His words stuck to his throat as the last drop of his energy disappeared and Stanley’s fist went right through his ribs, crushing his heart, and sending chunks of him all over the parking lot.
Ogre’s death was so violent that most only realized he had died after bits of him blasted at them, blood and gut sliding down their shield.
Stanley’s shield could only stop so much and he was drenched in blood and body parts as well. He didn’t let that stop him.
He quickly turned around to see that Fred was still hiding in the staircase, shooting at someone repeatedly. He hit the person on the same spot so many times that his shield gave up and even as he tried to hide, the bullets got to him.
With the 2 from before slowly getting back up, they had 6 more people to fight.
’This should be quick.’
