Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse With My Military System
Chapter 347: The Fail-Safe of Lin Feng
The defeat of Lin Feng brought a lot of changes to the Earth. Almost all of the mutated zombies are eliminated, and the only thing that threatens the planet are the non-mutated zombies, or zombies that are often portrayed in the media.
They were no match against the Blackwatch forces, mowing them down like they were doing a cleanup on every street and alley. It’s only a matter of time before the zombie population goes to zero.
However, not everything Lin Feng created was destroyed.

Somewhere back in the past. Year 2023.
Lin Feng was in an abandoned building in China. Behind him was Su Xue, watching him from a distance silently. She watched as Lin Feng tapped the thin air in front of him, which she assumed was his powers, a system, allowing him to summon zombies and monstrous creatures that would help him cleanse this world.
"Su Xue, are you curious about what I’m doing?" Lin Feng asked, glancing over his shoulder.
"Uhm..." Su Xue was taken aback on the "spot, unsure how to respond. ’Yes, I am. But... should I be worried?’ she finally managed to say, her voice tinged with unease.
Lin Feng chuckled, turning to face her fully. ’There’s no need to worry. What I’m doing right now is countermeasures."
"Countermeasures?" Su Xue repeated, wondering why the a need for doing that. She is confident in his powers. Lin Feng is the strongest man on Earth, no one could possibly stand against him.
"Yeah, countermeasures," Lin Feng confirmed, his eyes scanning the area as if to ensure their conversation remained private. "Even if I’m the strongest, there are always threats—unknowns that we might face. These creatures are not just for attack; they’re also my insurance."
Su Xue nodded, trying to grasp the full extent of Lin Feng’s plans.
"They’ll only activate when I die," Lin Feng revealed, eliciting a gasp from Su Xue. "What? So if something happens to you..."
"Exactly," Lin Feng cut in, "if I’m gone, these creatures will be set loose. They’re programmed to continue my work, to cleanse the world, no matter what."
Su Xue looked at him. "Is it really possible that you can be defeated? I don’t see that you are losing to anyone."
Lin Feng smiled, a bit of seriousness in his eyes. "Everyone has their weaknesses, even me. And in case I’m taken down, I don’t want my mission to end. These creatures will make sure it doesn’t."
"But doesn’t that mean," Su Xue paused, thinking about the implications, "that these creatures could cause havoc if you’re not here to control them?"
"That’s the point," Lin Feng said firmly. "They will continue the chaos until the world is cleansed. It’s a fail-safe, a final plan to ensure my vision survives."
Su Xue swallowed hard. "No...Master...please don’t think like that. There must be another way to ensure your vision without risking everything going out of control."
Lin Feng shook his head. "Like I said to you, Su Xue, this is all but countermeasures. A fail-safe. It will only be activated if the worst-case scenario were to happen. I don’t plan on dying before I get to see my vision come to life, but I need to be prepared for everything. It’s not just about what I want; it’s about making sure the mission continues, no matter what."
Su Xue looked down, feeling the weight of his words. "Okay, I understand, Master. I hope it never comes to that."
Lin Feng gave a slight nod, his expression unreadable. "Hope is good, but in reality, we need more than that. We need guarantees."
"So what kind of monsters are we talking about here, if the worst-case scenario were to come?"
"Well, they are kind of similar to Goliaths, but they are sturdier, taller, and stronger," Lin Feng revealed. "I am planning on planting them across China deep underground. There will be about 1,000 of them. I think that’s enough."

Somewhere in Shanghai, China. A group of Black Watch Special Forces roamed down the streets. Their weapons were armed and trained in all directions, their eyes scanning for any threats. The city was mostly quiet now, the chaos of the past seeming like a distant memory.
"Commander, do you really think there are more of Lin Feng’s creatures out here?" one of the soldiers asked."
The commander, a seasoned veteran, kept his gaze forward. "We can’t take any chances," he responded. "Lin Feng was known for his surprises. We need to ensure there’s nothing left that can rise up again."
As they moved silently through the abandoned streets, each soldier was alert, remembering the briefings they had before being deployed.
And then, moments later, one of the soldiers noticed something.
"Hey...is there some sort of an earthquake? I feel something under the ground," he mentioned, pausing to feel the vibrations.
The rest of the team stopped, tuning in to the subtle tremors. The commander’s expression turned serious.
"This isn’t an earthquake. Spread out and be ready for anything," he ordered, his voice low and controlled.
They quickly formed a defensive perimeter, eyes fixed on the ground, weapons at the ready. The vibrations grew stronger, a clear sign that something big was coming.
Suddenly, the ground erupted, and one of Lin Feng’s monstrous creations, a towering Goliath-like creature, burst through the asphalt. It was taller and more menacing than the Goliath. It stood 100 meters tall, one hundred meters tall, with two heads, four arms, and a muscular frame that towered over the surrounding buildings. Its eyes, glowing red, fixed on the Black Watch team with a predatory gaze.
The soldiers opened fire, but their bullets seemed useless against the creature’s thick hide.
"Our weapons aren’t doing anything!" one soldier yelled, panic creeping into his voice as they continued to shoot, hoping to at least slow it down.
The commander, realizing the severity of the situation, called for heavier firepower.
"This is Foxtrot 3-1, we need air support and anti-armor units on our location, now!"
As he radioed for support, the creature raised one of its massive feet, poised to stomp on them. The feet were so huge that it hovered over a city block. There was no dodging or escaping; the team had to make a quick decision.
"Move, move, move!" the commander shouted, urging his team to scatter and find cover.
The soldiers sprinted away, diving into the remains of buildings and behind any rubble that might offer protection. But it was futile; the creature’s foot slammed down, causing a shockwave that sent debris flying and shook the earth. After killing them, the Goliath monster let out a screeching roar that can be heard throughout the city.
