Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Apologizing to Pani

Pani hugged his little rabbit Spiritual Body tightly, his eyes red as large teardrops rolled down.

He felt incredibly wronged. The earlier scene replayed in his mind as he griped internally, ’That girl is too much! It wasn’t enough to touch my ears, but she even had to touch my tail!’

Recalling that moment, a tingling sensation spread from his tail throughout his body, making his heart suddenly beat faster and a blush rise to his face.

This unprecedented feeling was like a spring breeze rippling across the surface of a lake inside him, leaving him both shy and utterly flustered.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, a clear voice suddenly sounded from behind him. "Pani, oh, there you are."

Pani’s rabbit ears instantly twitched violently, and his whole body jolted in fright.

He looked back in terror and saw the young woman approaching in her wheelchair.

He instinctively covered his tail with both hands and took several steps back, keeping his distance from Su Yaoyao as if she were some kind of terrifying beast.

The little rabbit in his arms was also quite frightened by the sudden turn of events and leaped to the ground.

The little rabbit was fluffy all over, its pink fur like cherry blossoms in spring, shimmering with a soft luster in the sunlight. It looked incredibly soft and adorable.

When Su Yaoyao saw the rabbit on the ground, her eyes instantly lit up. She thought to herself, ’So there are rabbits at the base. This is great, now I don’t have to keep pestering Pani to touch his tail.’

Pani looked at Su Yaoyao, utterly wronged, with glistening teardrops still at the corners of his eyes. He said in a choked voice, "No more touching."

’Why did this girl follow me all the way to the medical department?’

Seeing Pani’s state, Su Yaoyao quickly waved her hands and explained:

"I didn’t come to touch your tail, I... I came to apologize. It was too rash of me to touch your tail before. I didn’t consider your feelings. I’m really sorry."

Hearing Su Yaoyao’s apology, Pani’s tense nerves relaxed slightly, but his wary gaze still held a trace of suspicion. "You really just came to apologize? Nothing else?"

Although he was no longer desperately clutching his tail, he still stood sideways, wary of any other sudden moves from Su Yaoyao.

Su Yaoyao looked sincere and nodded hastily. "Really. I was too reckless before and didn’t consider your feelings. Please don’t take it to heart."

After she finished speaking, she was captivated by the little pink rabbit on the ground. Her eyes instantly sparkled like stars. "Wow, this rabbit is so cute!" she exclaimed, bending down to gently pick it up.

The moment her hand touched the rabbit’s fur, Pani felt a tingling sensation spread across his skin, as if countless tiny ants were crawling over him.

His ears trembled uncontrollably, and his face quickly flushed red.

Su Yaoyao’s hand gently stroked the rabbit, gliding from its head down its back to its little paws. With every touch, Pani felt as if her hand were caressing his own body.

His breathing grew ragged. He could only bite his lower lip, a few muffled grunts escaping his throat as he desperately suppressed the strange feeling welling up from the depths of his heart.

"Why do you like rabbits so much?" Pani’s voice trembled slightly, laced with an undisguised nervousness.

Su Yaoyao looked up, her eyes shining. "I’ve had a weakness for fluffy things since I was a kid. The first time I touched your ears, I thought they were so warm and soft. Then I got curious about your tail and just couldn’t help myself."

Pani’s face reddened again. He said in a small voice, "Actually... I’m not really mad at you. It was just so sudden, I was a little scared."

Su Yaoyao gave an embarrassed smile. "So can we still be good friends? I promise I won’t randomly touch your tail and ears anymore."

Pani hesitated for a moment, then slowly nodded. The corners of his mouth turned up slightly in a shy smile.

Just then, Su Yaoyao, holding the rabbit with a look of pure bliss, said, "I just love this little guy so much." With that, she suddenly leaned in and planted a kiss on the rabbit’s mouth.

Pani’s eyes widened instantly. He instinctively reached out to stop her, but it was too late.

The moment Su Yaoyao’s lips touched the rabbit’s, Pani felt a soft kiss land on his own lips. He froze completely, his mind going blank.

Several seconds passed before he came to his senses. His face instantly turned beet red, from the base of his ears all the way to his neck. Even the tips of his ears felt scorching hot.

He frantically lowered his head, not daring to look Su Yaoyao in the eyes, and stammered, "You... how could you just kiss it like that!"

Su Yaoyao looked completely baffled, totally unaware of the impact her actions had on Pani. "What’s wrong?" she asked, confused. "I just like it so much. Can’t I give it a kiss?"

Pani opened his mouth to explain, but swallowed his words. He had no idea how to tell Su Yaoyao about the shared senses he had with the rabbit.

He could only stand there, at a complete loss, his heart pounding wildly in his chest as if it were about to burst.

The little rabbit also seemed startled by the sudden kiss, squirming restlessly in Su Yaoyao’s arms.

Su Yaoyao rocked the rabbit gently, cooing, "There, there. Don’t be scared."

Watching this scene, Pani felt both ashamed and annoyed. He nervously fidgeted with the hem of his clothes and hung his head even lower, wishing he could find a crack in the ground to disappear into.

Su Yaoyao noticed Pani’s strange behavior, a flicker of confusion in her eyes. She pressed, "What’s wrong with you? Your face is so red. Let me feel your forehead, you’re not getting sick, are you?"

As she spoke, she freed one hand and made a move to touch Pani’s forehead.

Pani jumped back several steps in fright, nearly tripping over his own feet. He waved his hands frantically. "I-I’m fine!" But his flushed cheeks and evasive eyes completely gave away how flustered he was.

The little rabbit struggled even more fiercely in Su Yaoyao’s arms, as if it could also sense Pani’s anxiety.

Su Yaoyao had no choice but to put the rabbit back on the ground. The moment it landed, the little rabbit hopped over to Pani’s side and affectionately rubbed against his leg.

Pani bent down and scooped up the rabbit, clutching it tightly in his arms as if it were a lifeline.

The little rabbit nuzzled his face, as if comforting him.

Watching this heartwarming scene, Su Yaoyao couldn’t help but laugh. "You two are really in sync."

Pani laughed along. ’This is my Spiritual Body, another version of me. Of course we’re in sync.’

A lively glint appeared in Su Yaoyao’s eyes. She looked at Pani with great anticipation and said, "Why don’t we take care of it together from now on?" ’That would make it easier for me to pet its fluffy fur.’ 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

The thought of being able to get close to this soft little rabbit so often in the future made her secretly rejoice.

Pani froze when he heard this. Remembering the tingling sensation from their shared senses that left him so flustered, he instinctively wanted to refuse.

But seeing the look of anticipation in the young woman’s eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.

After much hesitation, he finally gave a slight nod. With a barely perceptible tremor in his voice, he forced out a single word: "Okay."
