Chapter 166: Her Resolution

"You shouldn’t have woken up princess." The words resonated in her mind, her heart beating close to her ears. His eyes alone were enough to scare the life out of a human. He looked like the devil’s incarnation! Was this the same Alexander she had seen a while ago? And what was he going to do to her? And as if he had read her mind, his lips sealed hers in a hungry kiss that knocked the air out of her lungs. He could feel his beast roaring and celebrating in unison with his human self, the only version of him that ringed warning bells in his mind. But all that turned into background noise once he had a taste of her.Gods! She tasted like spices! As if she was not close enough, he grabbed her hair harshly pressing his lips harder to her heavenly sweet mouth. Could he ever get enough of her? At this rate, it was impossible. His beast had completely taken hold of him! Isadora had to do something or else. Her first kiss! She had not expected it to be this way. He was claiming her mouth as if there was no tomorrow. She was surprised at first but ended up succumbing to her body needs. She was already feeling weak in her knees but Alexander was nowhere close to stopping. Instead, he was sucking her lips as if his life depended on it. She had to stop him or else. "Stop," she said trying to free her lips from the captivity but he claimed her as if he was programmed to suck her mouth dry."Please stop." She managed to push him this time fleeing herself from his steel grip. Distance from him was what she required currently and fortunately, he didn’t come after her. Instead, he was looking around confused like one who had woken from a nightmare. This only acted to confuse Isadora more. Why was he acting so weird? Hadn’t he kissed her out of his own will?"Are you alright?" She found herself asking the same question again. Why was he looking down as if trying to control something within him? Was that why his eyes had turned bloody red? She had heard from many people that the prince would go during wars and his enemies would be victims. Wherever he passed in his rampage mode, heads would fall. Did he also go savage when it came to women? That explained why he remained unmarried to date. Of course she was his wife now, a fact that she found so hard to accept. "Don’t," he gestured her to stop when she took a step closer towards where he stood. But his voice betrayed him. "I’m fine." He added, his gaze fixated on the other side all the while."Go back to sleep now. I’ll be back later," he said before he walked out slamming the door behind him. He didn’t even give her room to protest let alone spare her a glance. But that one glance could cost him a lot."Damn it!" He cursed walking through the hallways. He had broken the rule, not only once but twice! She had every reason to leave him now! Just a day and so much had happened already. He was certain she hated him more now. He didn’t deserve her either. He had brought nothing to her but pain, and he expected her love in return? How ridiculous! Maybe she would leave tomorrow morning. "Arghh!" He punched a pillar shaking the whole palace. Blood dripped on his feasts but he didn’t care. It was going to heal anyways. Not only was his beast angry now but it was craving for blood since he denied it the chance to have its way with her. He knew he had to pay for that, heavily! He leapt into the woods, becoming one with the dark in his efforts to calm his already angry and insatiable beast. And for once, he felt like killing a whole battlefield! Isadora touched her sore lips staring at the place he had stood a while ago in disbelief. She had seen how much he struggled to control himself, or whatever that was inside of him. Was he like that with every other woman? Taking into consideration how rough his kiss was, she could only imagine for the worst if he continued further. Any woman would die even before they did the real thing. She rubbed her sore wrist before sitting on the edge of her bed. Just one day and so much had happened already. He had touched her, not once but twice! And these touches were no ordinary touches. They always ignited something alien within her. And where the hell had he gone to at that hour of the night? Wait! Why was she even concerned? News of his death overnight would be a huge relief to her; a great burden off her shoulders. This was why she regretted being born a princess at times. Had she been a common folk, would all this have happened? Little did she know this was her destiny! Still, her other part, her caring self, sympathised with him. He had left in a bad condition. Bad was in fact an understatement. He had left battling with the devil within him, if it was one. The image of his face crossed her mind intensifying her worry even more. What if something bad happened to him? Could that be the same reason why he went savage? Maybe she should help him and see what his other version looked like. But the question was how? She didn’t even know what it was that made him look like the devil yet she was jumping into conclusions. She vowed to ask him later when he’d come. She lied on the bed, a train of thoughts running in her mind as she stared blankly at the ceiling. So many questions about him were swirling in her mind and only he could answer. Tomorrow, first thing would be to know Crown Prince Alexander better. She made her resolution before drifting into slumber.
