The Assassin's Redemption: A Princess's Journey to Forgiveness
Chapter 194: Do You Love Alexander?
"Watch out!" Isadora yelled before the dragon could roast Alexander. Both Alex and Roselyn parted ways with Alexander landing hard on the ground while trying to avoid the attack. He had to end this once and for all.
"Take everyone to safety!" He ordered the knights.
With clenched fists, he stared at the berserk beast that was now turning everything in its way to ashes. The once beautiful capital of Valoria looked nowhere close to what it was before. Clouds of never ending smoke and a dragon circling the skies was the welcoming sight.
He was ready to leap into the sky for another round when someone held his hand. It was Isadora! She looked at his eyes and shook her head slightly.
"I have a bad feeling this is not going to end well. Let’s get out of here to a far place until the dragon is gone." A tremor of fear and concern could be detected in her wavering voice.
"Don’t worry about me Isadora," he said and took a step closer, cupping her worried face with his huge hands. "I’m going to be alright. And after this is over, we’ll be together."
"It is you that I fear for Alex. I.. I saw it..."
"Nothing is going to happen to me, okay," Alexander said.
Roselyn, who was being led away by the knights, saw how Alexander was holding Isadora’s face crushing her hopes of ever being his wife. Never for once had he ever showed her affection to her like he was to Isadora. Was she not caring enough? And she, of all the people, knew it had little to do with her burnt face. Alexander never loved her! She was forcing herself to him! A tear broke from her eyes before she whisked away by the knights following the rest.
"Then promise me you are going to come back, alive." She stressed the last word.
"And what do you have in store for me once I’m back?" The alluring god now took advantage of the situation leaving Isadora mute for a while.
"Anything you want," said a shy Isadora casting her gaze on the ground.
"What specifically," he asked, holding her waist closer to him, so close that she could feel his abs pressed against her chest. Her cheeks heated up casting her face all shades of purple. God damnit! Was her brain even functioning?!
"A kiss," she said in a whisper. His smile widened revealing his pearl white canines, no, more of a grin.
He leaned forward letting his warm breath fan her skin that it raised goosebumps on her neck. "I can’t wait to have a taste of those luscious lips of yours."
Isadora lifted her already flushed face to look at him when she slightly parted her lips awakening the demon he so much tried to suppress.
"Damn it Isadora!" And before she could open her lips to say something, he had already sealed her lips with hers in a quick but intimate kiss that left her breathless. She curled her toes as she drowned in the pleasure but the dragon roared making him to curse.
"We’ll pick up from here some other time." He released her from his grip and after stealing a quick peck, went airborne. A renewed sense of energy filled his being that it almost scared him.
"Let’s go princess," a knight urged Isadora who was reluctant to leave. She stared at his disappearing silhouette for a couple of seconds and sighed. She could only hope for the best.
Isadora joined the rest who were waiting for her in two boats. Unfortunately, she boarded the one with Roselyn. Not that she wanted to but the other was completely full. Right from the moment she stepped in, she could see Roselyn’s sharp gaze from the corner of her eye. The woman just hated her with a passion!
"Seems like you are close with Alexander, Your Majesty," said Roselyn unable to hide her dislike for the woman any longer. She just wanted to let it all at Isadora, but to also know the truth.
Isadora tilted her head to the other side pretending she didn’t hear what the trouble seeker had said.
"I’m talking to you. Don’t you dare pretend!" An already fuming Roselyn had now stood up and was walking towards where Isadora sat. The knights, on sensing her intentions, stopped her.
"You low lives! You dare stop me?" Her nose was already flaring.
"Let her be," Isadora said but the knights were hesitant at first before they allowed the fake tigress to pass. Not that they wanted to but because they were confident their queen would handle the situation. After all, she was a warrior princess. What would a mere Arcadian spoilt princess do to her?
"You were saying something I suppose," Isadora said crossing her legs over each other. She wanted to remind Roselyn her place. She was not only talking to any woman but the queen of Crescia.
Roselyn was hurt by the little power show but she could do nothing about it. Since her father had not reclaimed her as the Arcadian princess, she could not order knights around.
She let her gaze inspect this woman. She had the perfect features a man like Alexander would look for in a woman; a flawless skin, sharp nose and a curvaceous body any sane man would drool over. And to add on to the list, she was a warrior princess, and Crescian. But her? Thinking of it alone brought tears in her eyes and she couldn’t help but break.
Roselyn’s heart since beating momentarily when she had someone hug her! Her hair was patted softly like a baby’s before she whispered some comforting words to her hear.
"I know what you are going through and I’m sorry."
Did she really know what she was going through? If so, why did she hug her? They were like enemies in love. She drew from the hug and wiped the tears from her face.
"Do you love Alexander?" She asked out of the blue.
Sorry for the late update, I was having an exam
