The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 922 - 905: Married a Wife, Forgot His Mother_2
"Marvin Rafael and the Hopper family really make me feel cold!"
"That kind of person, Marvin actually likes, is not a good guy either!" Adrian Desmond had a poor impression of Marvin Rafael.
Afraid of his wife, afraid of his wife, but none as afraid of his wife as he is.
He spoils his wife, but Marvin is truly afraid of his wife.
"You should eat something too, don’t just feed me."
"If you’re not full, how can I be in the mood to eat?"
A spoonful of rice was brought to her mouth, but Sienna Johnson shook her head and refused to eat more, "I’m full, you eat." She stuffed the rice into Adrian’s mouth.
"Adrian, what kind of person was your mother?"
Adrian’s mother passed away early, so Sienna Johnson didn’t have to worry about any mother-in-law issues, nor worry about who to save first if his mother and wife fell into a river.
"She was a very nice person. If my mother were still alive, she would care for you as much as she cared for Paige." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"If your mother were still alive, I would have certainly treated her with respect."
Adrian tugged at the corner of his mouth but didn’t quite manage to smile, "I know you’re smart and know how to get along with my parents... but..."
Knock knock...
Their bedroom door was knocked on, and Adrian asked, "Who is it?"
"It’s me, Marvin Rafael!"
The two of them exchanged glances, not understanding why Marvin was there. Sienna Johnson tucked away her smile and sat on a chair to the side.
"Come in," Sienna coldly said.
Feelings between people take a long time to deepen, but it only takes a few small things to destroy a relationship that lasted several years, a dozen years, or even decades.
Marvin Rafael walked in, saw them having dinner, and felt a bit embarrassed, "Sorry, I didn’t know you were eating."
"What do you want from me? You’re not here to ask for the medicinal material factory, too, are you?"
Marvin’s face changed drastically at these words, "I didn’t know what Ashley did! Milton Hopper was caught, and I was trying to pull some strings in town to get him out early.
The medicinal material factory belongs to President Johnson, and I’ve told her many times that it’s her... greed! Shamelessness!"
"Did you know Ashley hit mom?"
"I know."
"What do you plan to do about it?"
"I’m planning to divorce her... but she won’t agree!" Marvin said dejectedly.
"So, what now?"
"I plan to move back and live with mom, give her the small villa as compensation..." Marvin said kindly.
"Are you really planning to divorce?"
"I never liked her that much. Once, I got drunk and then... she said she was pregnant... I took advantage of the girl, I couldn’t just not take responsibility..."
Sienna chuckled coldly, "Brother, you’re really a good guy! Did you ever think she might have set you up?"
"I was foolish!"
"..."
"I originally thought peace at home brings prosperity, so I put up with her. I knew Milton Hopper was selling counterfeit medicinal materials. He told me he only did it once, so I covered for him...
Who knew, they’d do it so many times behind my back.
I know it was foolish of me, so I can’t stay at the medicinal material factory anymore..." Marvin pulled a card out of his pocket and said, "These are my savings over the years, just as... compensation."
"..."
"There’s not much money in it..." Marvin said sheepishly, "The password is six sixes."
"What are your plans for the future?"
Sienna’s anger subsided a bit, thankfully Marvin didn’t conspire with them.
"Mom said I’m not really skilled, the higher I climb, the more likely I’ll get into trouble, and told me to go back home and farm with her.
I think mom is right... I shouldn’t have been given the General Manager position in the first place. Without that, none of these things would have happened."
Marvin saw Sienna’s unhappy face, and hurriedly explained, "I’m not blaming you, I’m saying I wasn’t capable enough, you trusted me so much, and I didn’t do well."
Actually, Marvin had done quite well over the years, working diligently, and being a local, he managed some connections more effectively than Sienna would have.
However, after marrying Ashley, the Hopper family used their influence to create so much trouble.
"I’ll get going then." Marvin placed the card on the table, looking as if he were about to slip away.
"Stay and finish your meal first."
"I’m not hungry!"
Sienna yelled, "I said, finish your meal before you go!"
Marvin, with a soft personality and always listening to Sienna, didn’t even think and obediently came to the table, but there were no utensils for him.
"I’ll go get the utensils," Adrian said resignedly. Ever since marrying Sienna, his status has been declining.
At the table, only the two siblings sat, with Sienna’s face dark, and Marvin feeling uneasy, hanging his head, not daring to look at Sienna.
"Ashley really had a miscarriage?"
"Yes."
"Are you sad?"
Marvin didn’t speak, and after a moment he said, "Actually, it’s better the child was lost, with the Hopper family like that, the child wouldn’t learn well..."
"You’ve really seen through them!" Sienna sneered.
"Here, men and women just get together and get by. Some people argue all their lives and still get through it. I thought, with a child, I could just get by, but who knew they’d be so troublesome..."
"..."
"Things are like this now, I can’t stay with Ashley... if she won’t divorce, I’ll drag it out. I don’t want to find a wife again." Marvin was scared off by Ashley.
Sienna looked at him, getting angry, "You were foolish and got played by her."
"Yes, I was foolish!"
"I’ll ask you one last time, do you really plan to divorce Ashley? No regrets?"
