Chapter 98: 9.8 Fake honeymoon real feelings

When A-Xuan arrived at the place of the gala he smiled, it was a museum. After giving their invitation they entered.

They were a lot of people looking at the exhibitions. At the end of the room was a stage with a piano on it.

A-Xuan grabbed Elwyn’s hand wanting to see everything that was exposed.

Elwyn looked at their laced hands and felt his heartbeat quicken. He liked the fact that he took the initiative.

They walked leisurely looking at all the findings. After a while A-Xuan looked at Elwyn and asked sweetly:

"Can you please get me something to eat?"

Elwyn smiled brightly and asked:

"Of course what do you want?"

"Anything is fine I trust you."

Elwyn kissed him on the cheek and left after saying:

"I’ll be right back."

A-Xuan walked to a man and smiled.

"Hello Mr. Cila Ken, I just wanted to say your exhibition is amazing."

"Thank you, young man."

A-Xuan said disappointedly:

"The only thing missing is the lost tribe."

Cila just as disappointed said:

"I know, I’ve been looking for it for so long."

A-Xuan tilted his head and said:

"It just so happens that I know where it is."

Cila looked at him suspiciously, it isn’t the first time that someone said that.

If he worked on every pair of gossip he heard his exhibitions would be empty.

A-Xuan took out his cell phone showing him.

"This is a satellite image of a site where a hotel has recently been built. If you use a seismometer you can see the remains of bodies. From the form of their skulls, you can tell that it is indeed the lost tribe. Everyone knows that their skull was shaped that way because of the initiation rites they had to go through to join the tribe."

Cila looked at the result of A-Xuan’s research wide-eyed. He stammered:

"I-I can’t believe y-you find the lost tribe."

A-Xuan put back his cell phone. Cila gripped his arm excitedly.

"Can I please be part of the excavation team?"

"Part of the team? No, I want you to lead it with me."

Cila smiled brightly and hugged him after thanking him 10 times.

A-Xuan explained:

"I’ll send you all the documents, I already requested the dig and it’s been authorized. First I need you to put in place a team, I know you can do it this isn’t your first time."

Cila said excitedly:

"I can I can. I know exactly who to bring."

"Good, we’ll have to meet the president of the hotel to let him know in a few days. Meanwhile, I don’t want anyone to know about my involvement. You are the public face, do you understand?."

Cila smiled and assured him:

"I won’t say a word I promise."

A-Xuan nodded and sent him all the information and the ratified request. He left to join Elwyn and grabbed the plate thanking him.

They looked around until Kalel stepped on stage calling everyone. He had a dark three-piece suit on and he look drop-dead gorgeous.

A-Xuan felt his body heat up just looking at him.

"Hello everyone, thank you for coming to tonight’s exhibition. All the money donated will go to the orphanage Sainte-Marie."

Everyone clapped and Kalel introduced:

"I would like to introduce you all to Cila Ken. He’s the founder of this exhibition."

Everyone clapped loudly including A-Xuan. He knew that Cila was the perfect man to be his front.

He has a long-established reputation and everyone knows who he is. He also knows that he’s been looking for the lost tribe for the past 20 years.

Plus he truly cares about history and preserving it while his father knew that his hotel was built on a mass grave but couldn’t care less.

After Cila made a speech he introduced:

"We have the honor today to have Drea Hayes who will perform Amour Eternel."

A-Xuan smiled at Elwyn before going on stage. Everyone clapped as he made his way up there. A-Xuan sat and looked at the crowd, he couldn’t find the person he was looking for.

He heard a whistle and saw that his husband was backstage. A-Xuan smiled and started to play.

The whole time he was playing his eyes were on Kalel who looked back at him with shiny eyes. Everyone intently listened to every note not wanting to miss one.

They couldn’t believe that someone could make them feel what it’s like to feel everlasting love for even a few minutes.

They were all enchanted except both Hayes. Lex after seeing how Kalel was with his son looked up the history of the piece and read all about the author.

He was pretty sure Kalel was interested in A-Xuan but now he is 100% sure. He is happy that he fell for him, what bothers him is not knowing when Drea will come back.

He obviously would prefer to have Kalel as a son-in-law than Elwyn. But knowing Kalel he’ll still want to be with A-Xuan even if he is married to Elwyn.

Who cares if A-Xuan cheats on Elwyn? It’s not like they’re really married.

Thinking that way Lex was reassured, he smiled mischievously. He also looked at the brand of the piano Kalel bought A-Xuan which means he knows it’s worth millions.

If A-Xuan asks him to support my hotel he will accept for sure. When A-Xuan was done playing Elwyn ran on stage to hug him, and A-Xuan hugged him back with a broad smile.

When A-Xuan met Kalel’s angry eyes he gave him a wink. He knows how hard it must be for him but he needs to act for his twin brother.

Drea was on the side looking at his brother hugging his husband Elwyn. Who does he think he is? He acts like this is his life when he is nothing but a glorified placeholder.

This is his life and he has no intention of leaving it to him any longer. How dare you steal my husband and my life? Drea’s hands tightened into fists.

A-Xuan grabbed Elwyn’s hand leading him to a private part of the museum. When he was sure no one was around he looked into his eyes.

Elwyn felt his heartbeat quicken and took a step closer to him.

"You were amazing."

A-Xuan blushed.

"Thank you."

He frowned and opened his mouth with difficulty.

"Elwyn, I-I have to tell you something."

Elwyn grabbed his hand and reassured him:

"You can tell me anything."

A-Xuan looked into his eyes and said:

"I know that you’re married to Drea but..."

A-Xuan stopped and bit his bottom lip.

Elwyn asked hopefully:

"But?"

"I-I’m in lo..."

When he heard the beginning of the sentence his eyes became sharp but before A-Xuan could finish they heard a sound and they both turned.

"There you are."

Drea smiled and approached them with Kalel. A-Xuan looked at him wide-eyed and said in a shaky voice:

"B-Brother you’re back."

Drea smiled and said:

"I am, I missed my husband." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

He smiled wider when he saw pain flashing through A-Xuan’s eyes. A-Xuan pulled back his hand out of Elwyn’s hand and looked away.

Elwyn finally woke up after his shock at seeing Drea and felt his hand getting cold without A-Xuan’s.

He can see the pain on his face and he knows what he was about to say before but Drea ruined everything.

He asked:

"Why are you here?"

Drea smiled as he put a hand on his shoulder.

"I missed you, Elwyn. I hated being away from you all this time, I know I made a mistake but I want to fix it. I want our marriage to work."

Elwyn frowned and Kalel mused:

"And here I thought you would be happy that I found your real husband."

Elwyn looked at him incredulously.

"You’re the one who brought him here. Why?"

Kalel crossed his arms and asked:

"Shouldn’t you thank me for finding the person you love and swore to spend the rest of your life with?"

He smirked and peeked at A-Xuan who was looking down. Elwyn laughed darkly and yelled:

"You only looked for him because you want A-Xuan."

A-Xuan looked at Elwyn surprised. Kalel confirmed:

"You’re right. I love him and I want to be with him. He was only a placeholder until Drea was found and now he is. So take your wife and leave."

Kalel walked to A-Xuan and before he grabbed his wrist Elwyn got in front of him.

"You’re not taking him."

Drea looked at Elwyn incredulously.

"Are you in love with my brother?"

Elwyn looked at him and admitted:

"I am. I love him."

Drea shouted at A-Xuan:

"You whore! It wasn’t enough that you stole my life you had to go and make them both fall in love with you!"

A-Xuan stepped out of Elwyn’s shadow and said his eyes shining with unshed tears:

"He doesn’t love me, he loves you and he is your husband. I was only supposed to take your place until you come back. Now that you have I won’t have anything to do with him."

A-Xuan took a step forward but Elwyn held onto his wrist, he pulled back his hand and said:

"I’m not your wife he is. From now on we won’t have anything to do with each other."

He walked to Kalel and asked:

"Can you give me a ride?"

Kalel nodded and grabbed his hand leaving.

Elwyn looked at A-Xuan leaving and felt like someone was stomping on his heart.

A-Xuan was just about to admit that he is in love with him too but Kalel and Drea ruined everything. I just lost the person I love most in the world.
