The atmosphere at the emergency center is both tense and relaxed; as long as there are no emergency patients, it's often very relaxed.

It's also somewhat thanks to Liu Banxia; he often stirs up some commotion, so even if the interns feel like they'll endure some hardship, it's still quite joyful.

The afternoon passed quickly too; there were three emergency surgeries, but none involved Liu Banxia. They weren't too serious, so he wasn't needed for now.

"Director Liu, I'm about to clock out." Wang Chao said, after changing clothes.

"Feel free to go home; today's your big day. Want to take my car back? Saves you from taking the bus." Liu Banxia said.

"Even though you trust me a lot, I'll still take the subway. Just need to change lines once, and at least it's not crowded. You're free right now, aren't you? Want to chat for a bit." Wang Chao said.

"What's up?" Liu Banxia curiously asked.

"Um, you know, tell me, how did you feel when you first met Qiaoqiao's dad?" Wang Chao whispered.

"Scared out of my mind, like a little mouse." Liu Banxia said earnestly.

"Is that for real? Was it that intimidating?" Wang Chao worriedly asked. πŸπ—ΏπžπšŽπš πžπš‹π•Ÿπ¨πšŸπžπ•.π•”π• πš–

"I couldn't help it; I wasn't mentally prepared at all, and my father-in-law showed up at the door. I was just grilling with Qiaoqiao, and then she ran inside to get backup, leaving me and my father-in-law." Liu Banxia said with a wry smile.

"Those eyes, you've seen them before. I just felt like I was being constantly scrutinized, one sweep after another. My heart was panicking, but I had to maintain my calm demeanor."

"It wasn't just that; because of my panic, I even had to eat the burnt skewers without changing my expression. Saving the good ones for my father-in-law, what a feeling!"

"Man, like crossing a ghost gate or something. But you know, we've already met, today is just an announcement, so it shouldn't be that intimidating." Wang Chao said nervously.

"I don't think it will be. At this age, Officer Ma is still going on blind dates, so his family must be anxious too." Liu Banxia comforted briefly.

"So, when you formally met the parents, how did you arrange it?" Wang Chao continued to ask.

"This matter, actually, had little to do with me." Liu Banxia said somewhat embarrassedly.

"Qiaoqiao and I are different from you and Officer Ma; you're a match made in heaven, and I was said to be kept at the time."

"Because of this concern, it had been communicated in advance. My mom had already met Qiaoqiao earlier, and was thinking of her, so when we finally got together, we were already familiar."

"I think you shouldn't put so much pressure on yourself. The relationship between the two families was already quite good, and now you're dating Ma, so it's a marriage between families. Why are you so self-conscious?"

"I'm afraid of her dad; we got disciplined a lot by him as kids." Wang Chao said distressingly.

"Hey, President Wang, what's wrong? Isn't today a good day? Why the long face?" Wei Yuan came over.

"He's intimidated now, afraid to meet the father-in-law." Liu Banxia said with a smile.

"What's the big deal? An ugly daughter-in-law has to meet her in-laws eventually, a grass-footed son-in-law has to visit the home." Wei Yuan said.

"Besides, I feel parents nowadays aren't as interfering in their children's marriages, they just hope to quickly settle down. Stop overthinking, bravely head to the battlefield, we're looking forward to your victory."

Wang Chao grinned and waved goodbye to Liu Banxia and Wei Yuan as it was time to clock out.

But in Liu Banxia's opinion, somehow it had a sense of the cold winds of Yi River, a hero's departure never to return. Wang Chao, usually quite mischievous, was unexpectedly afraid of meeting a familiar father-in-law.

Anyway, Liu Banxia didn't see any difficulty in it, thinking that Wang Chao and Officer Ma were surely meant to be.

"Why are you guys so excited?" At this moment, Xu Yino and their little group came over.

"Tonight Teacher Liu is on call." Xu Yino said.

"How's your patient doing?" Liu Banxia asked.

"Pretty good, we'll observe again tonight, everything's normal so far." Xu Yino said.

"The only thing not normal is the relationship with his family, the guy's pretty upset. I don't know what his family is thinking; shouldn't they just let the kid recover properly now instead of causing trouble?"

"That's right." Liu Yiqing chimed in.

Liu Banxia didn't say anything, crossed his arms and looked at them.

"Teacher Liu, what's wrong with you?" Xu Yino asked, pretending calm.

"Nothing, just waiting for honesty." Liu Banxia said.

Wei Yuan paused for a moment, looking surprisingly at these two girls. Other interns were also curious; there must be something going on.

"Teacher Liu, I just think we should give the girl a chance, right?" Liu Yiqing said, unsure by the end.

"So you two plotted something. One lacks guts, the other full of justice and clever ideas." Liu Banxia said.

"Well, with full anesthesia, in a muddled sleep, it'll be okay by midnight." Xu Yino said.

Everyone understood, these two girls were indeed planning something secretly.

"Be careful, don't let the patient's parents know, or they'll probably file a complaint, and then I'll have to deduct money," Liu Banxia said.

The audience was stunned, so this is your thought process?

"Teacher Liu, how did you figure it out?" Liu Yiqing asked curiously.

This was something everyone wanted to know. They had no idea, Liu Banxia had been downstairs all afternoon, so how did he find out?

"Sigh... We must have been too happy just now and gave it away," Xu Yino sighed.

"Something like that. I haven't heard of anyone being this happy while on duty with me," Liu Banxia said with a smile.

"You could say Liu Yiqing and Su Wenhao are okay, but the remaining four, none of them really want to do a night shift with me."

"Why is that? It looks like they enjoy learning from you, Teacher Liu," Liu Yiqing still wasn't clear.

"During night shifts, manpower is tight, so we're afraid of something major happening. Doing a night shift with Teacher Liu is like losing ten years of your life," Xu Yino remarked.

"You're not wrong; it's the same for us," Wei Yuan said casually before strolling away with his hands behind his back.

"Really, am I that kind of person?" Liu Banxia muttered.

"Go tell Teacher Wei and President Qi to go eat first, we'll watch over things here. Young comrades, be ready tonight, eat more, okay?"

After saying this, Liu Banxia wandered off to the side.

"Nuonuo, what does Teacher Liu mean?" Liu Yiqing asked curiously.

Xu Yino gave her a helpless look. "No wonder Teacher Liu always says you're a bit silly. Why would he want us to eat more? So we'll have energy to work, of course."

"And be careful, I think tonight might be our big show. Teacher Liu will definitely test us all together, and if there's an emergency patient, don't mess up."

"That's why some people are now afraid to do night shifts with Teacher Liu. The pressure is really high. You never know what the demon king might ask you to do; he'll really have us do anything, and we don't even have confidence in ourselves."

Interns got to know another side of Liu Banxia, whose bravery was considerable. Not only was he daring himself, but he expected others to be brave too.

The interns now felt a bit intimidated, worried that there might indeed be an emergency patient, and they'd be asked to do intubations or thoracic drainage or something.

Watching others do it is one thing, practicing is another, but actual operations are something else entirely.

Qi Wentai and Wei Yuan accepted Liu Banxia's good intentions without objection.

With Liu Banxia leading the interns here, everything was covered, and they could peacefully enjoy a dinner without worry.

"Director Liu, we have a patient, unconscious at home, no awareness, hit her head,"

About ten minutes later, the dispatch nurse called out.

"Got it, Xu Yino will take the case," Liu Banxia said.

Xu Yino nodded, this was the start of what promised to be a difficult night. She had a strong feeling about it.

"Female, 34 years old, blood pressure 80/110, heart rate 110, unconscious, contusion on the right side of the forehead, heavy sweating," the EMT reported while pushing the patient down.

"She caught a cold these past days, was about to eat when she suddenly collapsed, hitting her head on the chair," the patient's husband, who was holding a child, said.

"Push her to Resuscitation Room 1 first. Does she have a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, or heart disease?" Xu Yino asked.

"No, she's always been healthy," the patient's husband said.

"Please wait outside, register her, and we'll inform you if there's any update," Xu Yino said.

The patient's husband opened his mouth but ended up nodding silently.

"Ready, one, two, three, transfer!" Xu Yino said upon reaching Resuscitation Room 1.

"Cui Jia, connect the ECG; Tian Yuan, draw blood for routine tests and biochemical analysis. I'll do the auscultation; Zhang Pengfei, check the head and airway, let's move!"

As soon as Xu Yino finished speaking, the interns went into action.

Liu Banxia was quite satisfied. Although Xu Yino could be playful at times, she was proactive and efficient when working. This was excellent, as emergency doctors need this attitude.

"Vital signs are stable, body temperature 37.9 degrees Celsius, sinus rhythm normal, oxygen levels normal," Cui Jia reported after connecting the ECG monitor.

"Airway clear, no abnormalities on the head contusion," Zhang Pengfei quickly reported after his examination.

"Heart and lung auscultation are normal, no abnormal breathing or heart sounds, abdomen is soft. Let's start IV fluids, blood tests to be expedited," Xu Yino said with a frown after putting away her stethoscope.

"Teacher Liu, considering the patient needs to take care of a child, manage household chores, and has a cold history, I suspect the coma is due to overexertion and the cold before we receive the blood test results."

"Very good, I'd arrange it this way too in this situation," Liu Banxia nodded.

After witnessing Xu Yino handle two emergency admissions today, he was sure she had a firm grasp on this aspect.
