Rae grabbed her new apprentice and moved them to an empty store along a side street with a good view of the road.

It had just enough shade that the Rogues would be comfortable, and you could shadow step in at any time of day, while still being easy to find. A perfect balance of location that wasn’t as noisy as the main street.

"Here we are, this is the perfect spot for a clothing shop of our style. Now, let me get you a proper trade skill, and we can get started. How do you feel about uniforms?"

"I have no idea. Like, I have an idea of what they are, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one."

"Right, forgot for a second that we only fixed your eyes a few days ago. Never fear, the Darklight Host shopkeeper uniform is adorable. Or, we can put you in something that the shop sells.

You’re still young, so the options are limited, and we should likely go with the cute uniform.

I would end up killing too many people if we put you in something intended to be sexy."

Meisje nodded. She knew that the world was full of creeps. She had experienced enough of that in her lifetime already. Especially being blind, countless people thought that they could take advantage of her or play pranks on her.

However, the old ladies of the shopping district where she usually went to find work were quick to chase off the perverts.

Now that she thought about it, they likely didn’t look like old ladies, either.

They acted like them, but they were Immortals, and everyone she saw usually looked pretty young and healthy, except some of the men, who had gone for an aged look that seemed to suit their notions of wisdom and superiority by age alone.

That aging process was beyond Meisje.

What she didn’t know was that it was all fake. The ladies’ beauty, the men’s old and wise appearance. It was all done with skills, spells, and potions. None of it was how they would have actually looked if they hadn’t altered their appearance.

The fact that Karl and the rest of the Darklight Host hadn’t done anything to alter their appearance was an oddity in the Immortal Worlds.

Though, with as much as their appearance had changed due to skills and advancements, you could say that they had, just not for the sake of vanity.

Especially Dana.

Karl was much more enthusiastic about her change into a cute fox girl than she was. At least at the start. Now, even though she knew other transformation skills that would give her a different appearance, she rarely hid herself.

The longer she stayed in this form, the more that it became natural to her, and the better she learned to control the fox charm that had given her so many headaches in the past. Plus, the long fox ears were even better than her old cat ears had been.

Rae focused on doing the Karl thing, and combining all her associated knowledge into one skill, then transferred the ability using [Follow Me, Little One].

{Lady Rae Bloodbath generously grants knowledge} Skill [Divine Tailoring] will be transferred to her pet Girl.

"It called me Girl."

"That’s your name, though? The System is very literal that way. At least it didn’t insult you, it likes to make fun of people who have a big ego, or an amusing mistake in their past."

Meisje sighed. Even the System called her Girl.

"Divine Tailoring? That’s ... not what I expected. If you’re that good of a tailor, why did you teach everyone else Leatherworking?"

"Because leather is best for armour. Unlike metal and gems, you don’t have to dig it up. You can just kill things and skin them to get more materials, and the dungeons refill automatically. So, it’s basically free to make leather armour.

They can take care of all the important defensive stats, and we will do the fashion, as well as selling the pieces that didn’t work out quite right.

I only sell the very best in the Guild Shop.

And now, you will sell the rest here, while I train you to be the very best tailor that you can be. I don’t have a skill to teach you to make silk yet, but I will work on finding one. I make all my own, you see."

That made sense. Of course, the spider would make her own silk.

"I can’t run a whole shop on my own." Meisje reminded her.

Not only did she have no skills of that sort, she had no idea what she was doing.

"Oh, don’t worry about it. You just need to lead the customers to the best stuff and convince them to buy it. I will have someone make shop clerks and security. This place needs to be upgraded anyhow.

Ooh, it also needs a name.

Is there some convention to naming shops here? I never really asked about it."

Meisje shrugged. "Most of them are named after the owner or their Clan, and what they sell."

Rae frowned as she focused on finding a proper name for her outlet store.

"I have it. The Darklight Silks Emporium. That is what I shall name the shop. Now, where is that sister of mine? Opal is the one who specializes in making shops, I don’t know how to use that skill.

Sometimes I envy Cara and her ability to use nearly anything that causes chaos." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Is that how it works? Her species can just use whatever is most amusing?"

"I think so? Nobody claims to understand just how a Chaos Badger works. They simply exist and do things."

Meisje laughed. "That sounds like something that Cara would say about herself, for certain. But do you think that we could do something different for the shop here? Like, the whole town is Lycans, and some humans.

But this is your place, right? So, why not make the security staff spider beastkin? Or Dark Elves? I’ve met a few Dark Elves before, and they had your morbid sense of humour."

Rae smiled. "I like the way that you think. Actually, I think that the Karl has stones that are made for that purpose. Oh, no those are all Mythic Ranked. No good for store security, I will have to get him to make new ones."

"Oh? What are you going to get to run the shop?"

"These super helpful Epic Golem and Gargoyle hybrid constructs that have the basic skills of a Dark Elven Priestess, but can’t leave the shop. Not many people will try to mess with them, and they’re really fashionable."
