Chapter 43: What Must Be Done

The strength I get from this artifact is what I must use to push back the hunters in this continent.

"What do you think must be done?" I ask with a curious tone.

"First is getting used to the power of your dragon blood, then getting used to the power I bestow upon you. This will be the very foundation to make you stronger," Aziel answers while scratching his chin.

"Will I be unstoppable with this power?" I question.

"One day perhaps. I can’t guarantee anything since I never used everything to such an extent. I’m sure it’ll take some time to reach that point but you should be able to handle some higher ranking hunters," Aziel responds with a serious expression on his face.

Getting used to my dragon blood isn’t hard since I’ve had the opportunity to use it a few times already. It’ll be getting used to the power I get from Aziel that I need the most practice with.

It’ll probably be good to ask him about what to expect from his power since I don’t want to be in a bad position.

"I understand. What should I expect from your power?" I ask with a calm, yet curious tone.

"You’ll experience the important stuff here but your friends will notice a physical difference. My heart will slowly rewrite your body, giving you better regeneration, you won’t be able to hide your eyes period, the dragon traits will emerge without having to rely on blood, and you’ll become less human," Aziel explains.

"What kind of physical differences?" I question.

"Your hair will probably take on a bit of the white from mine and I’d say a style change might even be needed. You can trust Morrigan to handle that," Aziel answers with a laid-back tone now.

"Anything else?" I question while crossing my arms.

"I don’t know the color aura you see usually when using the dragon power but it’ll be red now as well. That’s only what I know off the top of my head since I experienced it myself. Just not the dragon aura," Aziel answers.

It doesn’t really sound that bad so far, especially with the appearance differences. That might cause some problems with hunters but otherwise I don’t think it’ll matter all that much.

Hunters will figure me out regardless of how I try to hide myself. It is probably better to go about it like this anyway, I’ll deal with the hunters as I meet them.

I also have some powerful friends now that will be able to help me too.

Amelia has some ways to go but I think she’ll be quite strong some day. Lia and now Morrigan are great additions with the strength both of them possess.

Lia has speed and her great swordsmanship while Morrigan I’ve only seen what those spears can do. But I believe she is strong as well.

I doubt the spears are all she is capable of using.

"What has happened out there since I disappeared?" Aziel asks with a curious look on his face.

"The hunters killed most of my family at our manor, took out the kingdom of Ariel, and are probably getting ready to take over more kingdoms," I answer to the best of my ability.

"Somebody inside knew of Remi. They wouldn’t just randomly attack a whole kingdom without already knowing something," Aziel says while looking towards the ground.

"Why would they wait so long then?" I ask with a bit of confusion in my voice. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Probably waited for the best day to attack where no one would expect it. Hunters are smart," Aziel responds, a disgusted expression on his face.

"Sigh. Of course, that’s already what I thought. But would it be possible to build up our own kingdom with its own capital?" I ask with a curious tone.

He doesn’t respond for a few moments as I stand there silently.

It must not be something he thought much about since Remi had already accomplished such a goal. But to rebuild from the ground up is definitely quite the task in itself.

I don’t even have a clue on where to start just yet, but again that’ll have to come after I deal with the hunters here. We won’t have a chance to build everything up until Lumiel is handled.

They’ll be keeping a close eye on any potential kingdoms for awhile.

It’ll also take a lot of resources and man power to get that started in the first place as well.

"Remi did it once before so I’m sure it can be done again. You’ll just have to find people capable of building and acquire the funds to do so," Aziel answers with a soft tone.

"It would do well for me to brush up on the currency everyone uses. I guess that is something I didn’t originally think too much about," I say while scratching my head.

I could’ve sworn that I heard the currency get mentioned once before but now I’m drawing a blank. It’ll be fine though, I can ask Amelia or Lia about the currency if needed.

Aziel finally stands up from his throne and makes his way over to me.

"I will warn you that the rewrite part is quite painful at first. You’ll probably also see a lot of stuff that isn’t real until it is complete," Aziel speaks with a casual tone.

"Wait, are we start—

Before I can finish I feel a huge surge of pain go throughout my body and I fall onto the ground. This feeling is even worse than the pain I felt earlier when I first arrived here.

It feels as if my skin is being torn apart and put back onto me over and over again. All while Aziel is standing there watching over me in the process.

"You’ll be okay, I went through this once before too," Aziel says as he crouches down next to me.

He doesn’t look worried in the slightest, which makes sense... He’s gone through it before he said.

Can I handle it?
