Chapter 106: A little skin

Yan Jia came over with their drinks and set down a plate of desserts. Li Jun looked at the pretty-looking cakes and asked, "I thought you said you weren’t hungry?" He pulled the plate closer and picked up a tiny yet intricately designed cake.

She smiled and said, "I showed a little skin, your highness. It’s free."

Li Jun, who was taking a bite, spat it out before looking at her, his expression as though asking what the hell? Yan Jia glanced over at an older man with missing teeth, smiling at them.

"Are you kidding me? What is this fucking creep looking at?" he said through gritted teeth. He was about to get up and gouge his eyes out when Yan Jia started laughing. She laughed so hard she almost choked on her coffee.

Li Jun realized she was messing with him. He sat back down and angrily bit into the little cake while saying, "I was going to knock the rest of his teeth out."

She laughed even more, finding it funny. While she was wiping her tears from laughter, he asked, "Why did you think of getting this?"

Yan Jia picked the one that was sour and sweet while saying, "I didn’t buy them. The cute lady at the counter gave them to me, she said they are samples."

Both of them knew it was a lie, but why question free stuff? He glanced over, and the young woman she was talking about had her hand on her chin, staring at Yan Jia. When she was caught staring, she panicked and looked away.

Li Jun, "..."

"You are so greedy, you know that? A greedy bisexual," he said while enjoying the free cakes. They were so delicious.

Yan Jia chuckled and said, "It’s not my fault, I am good-looking."

"Did you give her your contact?" he asked while his finger was doing eeny meeny miny moe to choose his next victim on the dessert plate.

"No, I don’t have time to hook up," she retorted.

Li Jun picked up her coffee cup and walked away. She turned to look at him and called out, "Your-," but when she realized their identities had changed, she called out, "Zi Rui." Li Jun ignored her and went to talk to the brista.

Yan Jia looked away in embarrassment when she smiled at her. Li Jun came back with a berry smoothie. He placed it in front of her and said, "Cute girls like you don’t drink black coffee."

Yan Jia, "..."

"Oh, and she said she will be free tonight if you want to go and have some drinks." He tapped his phone and forwarded the contact to her.

Yan Jia didn’t even add the contact. She aggressively sucked the straw, intending to end this torture, but her pupils widened at the explosion of flavors. It tasted so good. She looked at Li Jun, who had his head lowered, doing something with an evil smirk like he was up to no good.

JunJun: Dad avenged you. Praise me.

He was messaging Yu Xuan. He sent several pictures of Yan Jia in her new face. He even sent one of her aggressively sucking on the straw. She looked like a cutie patootie. Yan Jia asked, "Who are you talking to?"

He chuckled in response before saying, "I sent Xu Xu, your pictures."

Yan Jia’s eyes widened. She disregarded his title and reached across the table to take his phone away, but Li Jun was faster. He said, "Sister Jia, don’t spill the smoothie. It was made with love."

"Love my ass," she said, trying again, but Li Jun whispered,

"Look, you are making a scene. They are all looking at us." Yan Jia, who didn’t like drawing attention, gritted her teeth, restraining herself. On the other hand, the idiot Yu Xuan didn’t look at the first message. He overlooked it and focused on the pictures.

SexyXu: I need to change my username to happily married.

HappilyMarried: Who is my new wife?

Li Jun’s eyes widened before he burst out laughing. Yan Jia took advantage of his inattentiveness and took his phone. When she read what Yu Xuan wrote, she lost it. She furiously scolded him, and Li Jun let it happen.

It took two messages for Yu Xuan to realize that it was not Li Jun but Yan Jia swearing and cursing him out. Li Jun, the cause of all of this drama, continued to eat his little cake happily. He glanced out of the window, and his chewing stopped his finger trembling slightly. They had been waiting for Yu Wen to show up, and now that he had, his muscles tensed, it was like his soul had left his body.

Yu Wen looked as tired as he did in the picture. He was walking alongside Alex into the hotel. Just when his figure was about to disappear, Yu Wen suddenly stopped and looked in his direction.

Li Jun, having been caught staring, almost jolted in fright, but when he remembered he had a new face that looked nothing like him, he didn’t shy away from the scrutinizing gaze. Yu Wen looked away before walking into the hotel.

Li Jun heaved a sigh. He could finally breathe again. Yan Jia noticed something was off after her cursing match ended. She looked where he had been looking, and recognized the unmarked vehicles parked along the street.

"He is back?" she asked, and Li Jun nodded.

He took a sip of his iced tea, the refreshing coolness calming his overheating system. He was feeling a myriad of emotions at this moment. He was nervous, excited, and scared at the same time.

Nervous because he was about to do something sneaky. Excited because he would have his mother’s pendant in his hand soon. Scared because he feared getting caught. At least that’s what he thought.

Seeing him being such a nervous wreck, Yan Jia suggested, "You can let me go and steal it back."

He composed himself and said, "No, I will do it. Just be on standby in case something goes wrong." She nodded, but she wasn’t comfortable at all with this plan.

Li Jun was planning on slipping into Yu Wen’s hotel room and stealing the pendant either while Yu Wen was sleeping or taking a shower. That was his entire strategy, but Yan Jia was sure things were going to go absolutely wrong.
