Chapter 75: Antagonising the in-laws

Draco was at a loss to see the figurine he had designed and made himself in Yu Wen’s hands. At the time, he had agreed to do it because Li Jun kept begging him to make it for him. His grandson never asked for anything, so he thought it must be very important for him to make such a fuss.

At the time, he even teased him, saying, "Is it for a girlfriend?" Li Jun had told him no and that it was just for a friend. Since this friend was special to him, he began working on the design, and it took him months to get the right parts and materials. Seeing the smile on his grandson’s face made him so happy. He felt it was worth all the trouble.

But who would have thought that the so-called friend was this brat, Yu Wen? He must have stolen it because there was no way Li Jun would ask him to make something for someone who hated him.

"He wouldn’t give that to you. He said it was for a very special friend, and you aren’t his friend, nor are you special to him," said Draco, sounding a little sour. All this time, he thought his grandson at least liked someone, and who knows, he might bring them home someday, but in the end, it was this idiot.

Yu Wen didn’t take offence at all. He could understand why Draco said that. After all, he hated Li Jun for years, and they fought constantly. "I understand why you would say that, but Little Jun might think differently," he said, deliberately trying to provoke him. He was hoping that if he pissed him off enough, he would make a mistake and reveal something.

To no one’s surprise, it was Damian who exploded first. "What do you mean by that, and who the fuck are you calling little Jun?" he said as he walked towards him with so much aggression that it could scare a sleeping baby.

Yu Wen smiled shyly and said, "Well, we slept together." Should he have said that? No. But if Li Jun was in the house, he hoped he would come out and defend himself. If he were not here, then Damian might slip up and confirm that he was alive.

"Haha, you are lying. He would never," said Damian with a mocking laugh. He knew Li Jun very well. He would never do that. All these years, he had been involved with all those women, but he never crossed the line. He had asked Li Jun about dating since he thought it was his duty as his uncle.

Li Jun had emphasized that he wasn’t interested in dating or casual sex. His life was chaotic as it is, and adding someone to the picture would only make things more complicated. That’s what Li Jun said, but he also saw those hickeys the day he picked him up.

"Why would I lie about that? We even did it three times," he said. Damian exploded on the spot, yelling,

"You son of a bitch. I am going to kill you!" He lunged forward, and Yu Wen, who didn’t feel like being beaten, dodged. Damian didn’t seem to like that. He yelled, "Come here, you fucking coward."

"If you don’t believe me, you can ask him. Who knows, maybe I will be your brother-in-law in the future," Yu Wen said as he dodged the punch flying towards him.

Damian’s eyes widened, his chest heaving in rage. "I wi-," he said, but Draco yelled,

"Haku Zhen!" Damian knew he was in big trouble when his father used his real name. Even if he is stubborn, when his father called him that, he had to stand down. He clenched his jaw, restrained his pent-up rage, and turned to walk away.

He listened to his father, but that didn’t stop him from cursing Yu Wen to death. He was mumbling the entire time, looking like a disgruntled teenager who couldn’t vent his anger because he would get into even bigger trouble.

Draco turned to Yu Wen and said, "We are still mourning as a family. We aren’t accepting visitors. Please show yourself out." In other words, he was saying, "Get lost and don’t show your fucking face here again."

Yu Wen didn’t like to hear that. Mourning what, when the person wasn’t dead? He wanted to tell him to take those words back, but he restrained himself. "I admit I wronged him all those years. I just came here to tell him that I was wrong and I am so sorry," he said.

The old man stood his ground. He refused to admit that Li Jun was alive. Damian hadn’t seen through it with his hot-headed self, but he had. Yu Wen was here to fish for information and possibly get Li Jun to come out if he was here. If he hadn’t stopped Damian on time, he would have exposed the entire scheme.

"Too bad the dead can’t speak. You should have had that realization when he was still alive. I will give you ten minutes to leave this planet, otherwise I will shoot you down," he said with a furious glare. After making his stance clear, he turned to leave.

Yu Wen knew he had gotten everything he could out of this visit. He glanced at the mansion one last time before turning to leave. He was disappointed that he didn’t get to see Li Jun. For weeks, he had been looking forward to this reunion, but all his excitement came crashing down, replaced by unbearable sadness.

That wasn’t the only bad news. It seemed he had failed to infiltrate Damian and Draco’s phones, so now he couldn’t even use them to find out where Li Jun was.

Standing at the ceiling-to-floor windows, Damian watched the spacecraft leave. As soon as it was a barely visible dot in the sky, he tapped his phone and called an unsaved number. The person on the other end picked up their voice hoarse, like they were still asleep.

"Uncle," Li Jun said as he lazily stretched in bed.

Damian gritted his teeth. He wanted to ask, but he felt like he was crossing boundaries. If Li Jun wanted him to know, he would have told him. He was about to come up with something else to ask when his father walked in, heated, and looking for an outlet.

"Is it that brat Li Jun!" he yelled. Li Jun’s brow arched, wondering how he made this old man angry.
