"Give up and accept your fate, wench! You do not have a prayer against me, so just die!" Came the Demon’s voice from inside the floating ship, as I zipped around through the air, evading the relentless cannon fire and countering with lightning blasts.

But my attacks weren’t having much of an effect on it...that ship, with the Demon safely inside it, is a real pain to deal with, it’s way too durable. Attacking it is futile, and any little damage that I do inflict to the ship doesn’t last, it quickly repairs itself.

And in all likelihood, damaging it doesn’t affect the Demon at all...tch, guess I’ve gotta play the long game here, talk about a nuisance. This is gonna take some time to pull off, but I don’t really have any other options, I have to bide my time.

Meanwhile, the other Demons have scattered and are running amok throughout the city. Plumes of smoke were rising up all over the place, screams and crashes echoing out in every direction around me.

But I can’t help any of the people who are under attack right now...this Demon, Blackbeard, he’s really powerful. If I take my focus off of him, I’ll be putting myself at risk of being killed.

The power he used to create this ship, I’m seriously not a fan of it...not only is it an extremely durable defense, it’s got a powerful offense too, those cannons seem to be able to fire non-stop, and the blasts are really powerful.

If just one of them hits me directly, that’ll probably be it for me, I’ll be as good as dead. On the plus side, since he has me on the defensive, none of the other Demons are coming this way to help him take me down.

Which makes sense, they probably can’t do that without getting caught up in the blasts of his cannons. I have to bide my time and wait for the right opening, while making sure I evade his attacks.

Hm, but he’s only attacking with those cannons. They may be powerful, but the blasts come in straight lines, so they’re easy to dodge. If he added, like, Negative Blasts and other Skill attacks to the mix, I’d be struggling a lot more.

Could this mean that when he manifests that ship, he can’t use any attacks? Considering how high both its offense and defense are, it’s only fair that it has a weakness like that.

"Slippery little thing, aren’t you? No matter, you cannot keep evading forever!" His voice echoed out from the ship, laughing in amusement.

"Yeah, well, let’s see if you can keep attacking forever! Why don’t you come out of there and face me yourself, or are you too afraid!?" I called out in response, as I flew up to evade a couple of cannon blasts, and then zipping away to the left as another came shooting towards me.

"Such a pitiful attempt at provocation will not work on me, simpleton!" He scoffed condescendingly.

Ohh, I’m gonna enjoy tearing this bastard apart! My preparations are almost complete, just a little bit longer and I’ll be ready to make my counterattack. I learnt a lot about how to use my Electro Skill after training with the Thunderbird, and it wasn’t limited to flying.

And he’s about to find that out the hard way...well, assuming he survives, that is. I then fly up higher into the air, the ship chasing after me as it continued to fire its cannons in my direction, which I continued to evade.

He was right about one thing, if this had continued for much longer, it would only have been a matter of time until he landed a hit. After all, I’m on the defensive, with seemingly no attacks strong enough to seriously damage that ship. At least, that’s how he’s seeing me right now.

"Okay, this should be high enough," I remarked, as I came to an abrupt stop.

The ship stopped too, briefly halting its cannons. Ohh, that’s a big mistake on his part, he’s making this so much easier than it otherwise would have been...I’m grateful that he’s underestimating me so much...

"Have you finally accepted your fate, wench?" Inquired Blackbeard in amusement, though I could hear a hint of confusion in his tone.

"No, but you should accept yours. Good luck, because there’s no dodging this," I remarked icily, as I raised my hand, crackling with lightning as a narrow streak shot straight up into the clouds, before I rapidly swung my arm down.

In the blink of an eye, a blinding flash burst out as a deafening crash rang out from the clouds, as a massive pillar of lightning blasted down from the sky straight towards the ship, engulfing it in an instant.

The entire area was blanketed in a bright, electric glow, sparks of lightning crackling across the air as the pillar of lightning began to fade, the air around where it had shot down shimmering and crackling, no trace of the ship left intact.

But there was something, plummeting down towards the ground. The Demon’s body...it was badly charred, all four limbs scorched off and a chunk of the top of his head missing.

When a Demon loses their brain, they’re pretty much unconscious until it heals...I then zipped towards his body while charging my right fist with lightning, grabbing his throat as I closed in on him and drawing back my right fist.

Right as his brain healed and his eyes began to flutter open, I slammed my fist through the middle of his torso, a vicious spark and crackle bursting out as my fist burst through him, unleashing the charged up lightning into his body.

A shattering sound echoed out from inside his body as he let out a sharp gasp, his body starting to disintegrate as a horrified look appeared on his face.

"Im...impossible...," He uttered weakly, right before his head turned to ash.

"Glad you got the chance to realize that I killed you, wouldn’t have been as satisfying if that blast had killed you before you even knew what was happening," I remarked dryly, before glancing around with a sigh as several Demons began flying this way, "Just great...is a little respite too much to ask for?"

"Come on, any of you feel like talking? If you guys didn’t disintegrate when you die, I’d be standing on a mountain of your corpses at this point," I remarked with a sigh, cracking my knuckles.

"G-go to Heaven, human bitch!" Snapped the Demon I’d cornered, glaring at me hatefully.

Does he realize that that’s not really an insult? Well, I suppose it wouldn’t make sense to say ’go to Hell’, since I literally am in Hell right now.

I lost count of how many Demons and Devils I’d killed since Satan trapped me here, but it’s got to have been a few hundred at least. I’ve died just once so far, using up the third of my nine lives. To be fair, I was badly injured, so I couldn’t fight at my beat.

Case in point, after my latest resurrection, I haven’t received so much as a single injury. But there was something different about this resurrection...it felt like my power surged a lot more than during my previous resurrections.

"I wonder...? Maybe it’s because the air here is so rich with dark energy? Huh...guess there’s a silver lining to this crappy situation," I mused thoughtfully, before turning back to the Demon, "Well? You gonna talk or not? Because if not, I’ll just kill you and find someone else to tell me what I want to know. Your call."

"Damn, you...!"

My senses have finally adjusted to the environment here in Hell, so I’m doing better at avoiding large groups of Demons than I did when I first got here. And it’s also helped me find smaller groups of Demons to attack in my efforts to find one willing to give me the information I’m looking for.

"Alright, then, death it is. Ugh, I’m getting tired of this," I grumbled, as I began to extend a shadowy streak towards him.

"W-wait, stop! I...I’ll tell you where it is, okay? Just...just please spare my life!" He exclaimed in desperation, scrambling back in terror.

"Oh? Now, that’s more like it! You’re gonna lead me right to the bridge between Hell and the living world, got it? Do that, and I’ll let you go without any further damage. Deal?" I remarked with a raised eyebrow.

"Y-yes, very well...we have a deal."

"Great! Well, no time to waste...lead the way."
