The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend
Chapter 753 - Maxed Out Dark Curse Nail
The Celestial Shackles were Lady Huang’s strongest Divine Weapon. It had powerful effects and could automatically recover its high durability. In other words, Lady Huang had never had to worry about it shattering before.
So, when she saw its durability decreasing rapidly, she panicked. If things continued, her Celestial Shackles would actually break. That was a reality she refused to accept.
She summoned several other Divine Weapons to stop Han Wu’s barrage from hitting her Celestial Shackles while attempting to close the distance. As long as she could get them within her fifty-meter radius, she could bind all three of them. If that happened, their connections with their Divine Weapons would be broken, granting her the final victory.
Unfortunately for her, she had underestimated their strength. Han Wu had yet to go all out. Qin Shuang and Master Ou were also still charging up their attacks.
Borrowing the power of her true body, Qin Shuang channeled the power of Annihilating Lightning into the coin, gradually turning it black. Master Ou channeled his energy into his forging hammer and waited for the opportune moment to strike.
As Lady Huang pushed through Han Wu’s attack and was about to enter the fifty-meter radius she needed, Qin Shuang unleashed her Annihilation Railgun.
The black coin morphed into a ray of black light that shot straight toward Lady Huang before exploding with a thunderous boom. All 560 Celestial Shackles became conductors for the lightning.
Lady Huang was left heavily injured, with countless small wounds marring her skin, each oozing blood. The attack had also left her paralyzed, which gave Master Ou the opening he needed to strike.
“Master, your disciple is going to avenge you!” Master Ou cried, hurling the forging hammer at Lady Huang.
The energy-filled hammer hit her squarely and unleashed all its built-up energy in a single instant, blasting Lady Huang to the ground with such force that it left a crater in the earth. Her Celestial Shackles and her other Divine Weapons all shattered into pieces, durability exhausted from the explosion.
She lay in the crater, on the verge of death, breaths coming out in faint, strained puffs. Master Ou flew down and retrieved his hammer before approaching her.
The severity of her injuries all but ensured her death in the near future. Even so, she couldn’t help but beg for mercy, “Please, spare me. I’ll give you everything I have in exchange for my life.”
Her pleas sparked fury within Master Ou. Raising his hammer, he roared, “You can say those words to my master in the afterlife. You probably still remember this hammer!”
Lady Huang’s eyes widened in disbelief as she finally recognized Master Ou’s forging hammer. At that moment, the last vestiges of life drained away from her, and she died with her eyes open in shock.
Master Ou let out a sigh, his shoulders slightly lighter with the knowledge that one of his three revenge targets had been dealt with. Then, following up on his promise, he gathered all of Lady Huang’s Divine Weapons and gave them to Han Wu and Qin Shuang.
Of these, the most valuable was Lady Huang’s shattered Celestial Shackles. She had refined it thousands of times, and its power exceeded that of a regular 9-Star God-grade Divine Weapon. Though shattered, the materials remained, and some of its effects still lingered.
Seeing this, Han Wu summoned his Dark Curse Nail. The main use for Dark Curse Nail was to immobilize his enemies. It was only a 6-Star God-grade Divine Weapon, so he allowed it to absorb the fragments of the Celestial Shackles.
As expected, their compatible affinities as support-based Divine Weapons allowed the Dark Curse Nail to rapidly rank up. It jumped several grades to become his fourth 9-Star God-grade Divine Weapon.
Its quality had improved, and it also gained a new effect called Seal. Enemies whose shadows got hit by the Dark Curse Nail had a high chance of having their energy sealed away.
This complemented its original effect of Shadow Stun. The two effects together would make it so enemies not only couldn’t move but also couldn’t channel energy. This was no different from being sentenced to an execution.
Satisfied with the results, he gleefully kept it, already looking forward to the next time he could use it. Qin Shuang didn’t receive anything as precious as the Celestial Shackles, but she did claim all the other dropped Divine Weapons from Lady Huang. Absorbing them brought all her Divine Weapons to 7 Stars.
This was naturally a great improvement from before, when she only had one 7-Star God-grade Divine Weapon. Equipping all her Divine Weapons would effectively allow Qin Shuang to temporarily fight against those with 9-Star God-grade Divine Weapons. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Afterward, Han Wu summoned his Glutton Locusts to devour Lady Huang’s body. They also collected the special metal that Lady Huang had collected—three kilograms worth. If used sparingly, Master Ou could forge a dagger.
However, a dagger was still weaker than Han Wu’s Small Locust Blade, making it essentially useless. So, instead, Master Ou melted the special metals down and coated them onto Han Wu’s Small Locust Blades, bringing him up to 300 coated blades.
The only downside was that Triplicate and Seven Killings couldn’t replicate the metal coating onto the copies, or he would’ve had 40 to 50,000 of them. Still, 300 was already plenty.
Han Wu directed these coated blades to kill more mummies and gather more metal.
Master Ou, meanwhile, was too busy searching for a library in this ruined kingdom to help with the collection efforts. After some time, he managed to find one, and he entered it, hoping to find some books or scrolls that recorded the history of this place within.
The ancient books nearly crumbled under his touch, so he had to handle them with immense care. There was a chance that they would simply turn to dust if he misjudged his strength.
After half a day of searching, he finally found some records.
