The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend
Chapter 755 - Sacrificing for the Greater Good
Han Wu frowned. This was his first time seeing such a unique effect. It basically increased the damage threshold a million times, effectively making General Liu invincible.
The trio was at a loss when General Liu attacked. The massive Armament Spirit splashed sticky blood everywhere as it moved. Blood rained down and hit the ground with a bizarre sizzle.
Han Wu continued to attack it with his 30 million Small Locust Blades, but each strike was split across the 1 million souls.
It was the equivalent of each victim being bitten by a mosquito 30 million times. The attacks were annoying and constant, but didn’t hurt at all. Moreover, contact with the blood corroded the Small Locust Blades, which caused their durability to fall sharply.
Master Ou struck with his energy-filled hammer as well, but it was useless. The energy discharged was similar to the explosion from an atomic bomb, but even that was easily mitigated when divided into a million units.
Worse still, the Armament Spirit needed to be destroyed in a single blow. If not, it would simply recover from the split damage, ready to absorb more blows.
This was practically a form of invincibility in itself. Even Qin Shuang’s Annihilating Lightning, channeled with the power of her true body, only managed to provoke General Liu and failed to deal any meaningful damage to the Armament Spirit.
“I already told you, it’s time to be sacrificed to my monster blade!” General Liu bellowed.
The Armament Spirit had forced them into a corner, and the wretched blood was on the brink of drowning them.
“I’m sorry, this is all on me,” Master Ou said regretfully. “If I didn’t ask you guys to help me exact revenge, this wouldn’t have happened.”
Han Wu, however, had yet to give up hope.
Noticing the resolve on his face, Qin Shuang asked, “Han Wu, do you have a final trump card?”
“I do.” Han Wu nodded. “But it's a little too weak to destroy that Armament Spirit in one blow.”
Master Ou immediately handed Han Wu his hammer. “You’re an outsider! You can use your Divine Weapon to absorb my hammer. That’ll increase the rank of your Divine Weapon tremendously!”
Han Wu hesitated. The hammer was as important to Master Ou as his own life.
Still, Master Ou endured the pain in his heart and shouted, “Stop dilly-dallying. I can always reforge it. We, on the other hand, only have one life!”
The forging hammer was a product of years of hard work—a gift from his late master, and also a part of his body. In truth, he was reluctant to have Han Wu use it as nourishment for his Divine Weapon, but there was no other choice. This sacrifice was for the greater good.
Han Wu nodded, grabbing the hammer before summoning his ninth Divine Weapon, the Giant Locust Blade.
The forging hammer had inherited the love and care of two entire generations. Its true power had long surpassed a regular 9-Star God-grade Divine Weapon.
The Giant Locust Blade’s rank increased significantly after absorbing the hammer, boosting it instantly to become a 9-Star God-grade Divine Weapon. It also received a powerful effect called Thousandfold.
Han Wu immediately activated the new effect, and his Giant Locust Blade grew to 2000 meters long. As it grew, Superheavy also activated, increasing its mass a thousandfold as well.
The massive blade swung down with such might that it broke through the damage threshold of the monster blade.
The Giant Locust Blade almost cleaved through the Armament Spirit of the monster blade, dealing a severe blow. Once again, the damage was split into a million units, allowing the Armament Spirit to gradually recover.
The Armament Spirit had endured the blow!
General Liu wiped a thin sheen of sweat off his forehead. The 2000-meter-long blade had nearly destroyed his monster blade. Fortunately, the damage hadn’t managed to surpass the absolute limit of his Armament Spirit, allowing it to recover and attack Han Wu with its sticky blood.
It was going to eradicate the man who had almost succeeded in killing it.
Han Wu narrowly avoided the blood. “This isn’t over yet!”
With that, he activated his newly learned skill, Heaven-Earth Severance.
The surrounding energy surged into the 2000-meter-long Giant Locust Blade. A massive energy blade, larger than the actual blade itself, appeared.
Fear welled up within General Liu. The Giant Locust Blade alone had almost killed his Armament Spirit. This energy blade was larger and more powerful. He couldn’t help but doubt whether his Armament Spirit could endure it.
Ordering his Armament Spirit to escape with him, they fled, attempting to place as much distance between them and the descending energy blade as possible. As long as they could avoid the blow, both he and his Armament Spirit could live another day.
Han Wu wasn’t going to let that happen. Aiming at the fleeing pair, figures already a thousand meters away, he shouted, “Sever!”
The skill swung down with such force that the world itself was split in half. The surrounding air blasted outward, as if cleaved into two.
The Armament Spirit hastily tried to evade it, but to no avail.
Even splitting the damage into a million units wasn’t enough to mitigate the mighty blow. The Armament Spirit exploded into a million blood parts, painting the ground a bright red.
General Liu was frozen in shock. His strongest Divine Weapon had lost to Han Wu’s Giant Locust Blade. The terrifying results had completely sapped his strength, and he didn’t even have the will to summon the rest of his Divine Weapons to fight back.
Master Ou rushed forward, seizing the opportunity to stab General Liu with a 1-Star God-grade short sword that he had forged with Ashsilver.
General Liu’s heart was pierced through, and he collapsed to the ground, face frozen in an expression of wide-eyed dismay. The leader of the bandits responsible for trafficking and kidnapping innocents was dead.
“Master, I’ve exacted revenge on the second person for you!” Master Ou cried out. His revenge was two-thirds to completion.
