Chapter 1163: Chapter 1163: You Didn’t Talk to Me All Day Today

Ignatius Leclair’s handsome, stern face lowered as he glanced at his little daughter with rosy cheeks, and called out in a deep voice, "Benjamin, bring your rabbit home."

Benjamin Leclair lifted her pretty little face, her big black eyes suddenly wide open, and ran over to tug at the man’s pants leg, whining, "Daddy, I want to stay at Great-grandma’s house."

"Not coming home anymore?" The man’s long, deep eyes squinted.

"Daddy can stay at Great-grandma’s house too, anyway, there’s no Mommy at home." Benjamin pouted her rosy lips and said softly.

Attacked simultaneously by his brother and daughter, Mr. Leclair suddenly felt the world wasn’t so wonderful. He snorted coldly and said, "I’ll find you a new mommy tomorrow."

Benjamin’s dark eyes looked at her bad daddy, counted on her fingers, and said, "Daddy, you’ve said that 7, 8, 9, 10 times."

Richard Shaw watched from the side, his brows smiling, and laughed deeply, bending down to touch the little girl’s dark hair, saying to Ignatius Leclair, "When you get married, I’ll cover the drink costs."

"Major General Shaw, your salary for the past decade might not even cover the cost for ten tables of drinks." Ignatius Leclair said disdainfully, holding Benjamin’s hand and heading home.

Richard Shaw didn’t mind, watching the tall, imposing man take the little girl home. Finally, due to Benjamin’s short stature, the man had to bend and pick her up, sitting her on his shoulder.

The little girl let out a bell-like laugh and said sweetly, "Daddy, can I look for Mommy, not a new Mommy?"

The voice faded away into the distance.

The smile on Richard Shaw’s lips lingered for a long time. Having been through so much, when Old Leclair eventually comes to his senses and wants to reunite with Delphine Carter, it’ll be a tough journey. Luckily, he’s realized it early.

As Richard Shaw withdrew his gaze, he saw Hawk Howard standing under the corridor, not knowing when he arrived. The man was as cold and handsome as he was seven years ago, tall and giving off a noble, gentle vibe, like a gentleman from a prestigious background.

Richard Shaw, himself from the Military District, had advanced through gunfire and battle to reach today. He walked a completely different path from this academic maverick. Still, he remained cautious, as many women loved such gentle, refined pretty boys.

Hawk Howard came over, looked at his legs, and said coldly, "I heard Major General Shaw has been in Switzerland treating his legs for years. Still not healed?"

"Almost." Richard Shaw nodded his head and said.

"On the fourth day, I saw Crystal Landon." Hawk Howard’s voice grew colder, looking at Richard Shaw, "Is Major General Shaw going to tell me they’re two unrelated people?"

"Since you’ve seen her, you know she doesn’t know you at all. Leah is about to become my wife. Caspian Howard, you’d better not persist in your stubbornness." Richard Shaw’s face grew sterner, warning grimly.

"When Crystal Landon was investigating you back then, she took me to meet an Uncle Howe, who owned a restaurant in the Imperial City. He went missing mysteriously over the years, was seen near the Golden Triangle." Caspian Howard went straight to the point, "Leah Squire’s brother, Griffith Squire, rose in the Golden Triangle. Why doesn’t Major General Shaw mention that after Crystal Landon’s incident, she didn’t die but was injured and lost her memory, taken by her brother?"

"Clearly the same person, why does your Shaw Family dare not admit it? If not acknowledging it, why does Major General Shaw want to marry her? What’s the unspeakable secret behind this?" Hawk Howard’s gaze was sharp, pressing Richard Shaw step by step, starting from Uncle Howe, investigating the Golden Triangle, and deducing everything.

As a technical man, such meticulousness and invincible logic are rare in the world.

Richard Shaw’s face was somewhat unpleasant, not expecting Hawk Howard to know about Uncle Howe’s existence. Remembering how Crystal Landon was so open with him back then, things even he didn’t know, Hawk Howard actually knew, instantly raised alarm bells. If Crystal Landon regained her memory, would she be with Hawk Howard? They trusted each other so much back then, trusted to the point of making him jealous.

This thought coiled like a venomous snake in the man’s heart. Richard Shaw’s tea-colored eyes slightly reddened, voice hoarse and low: "Caspian Howard, I don’t care where you got your hearsay, Leah is just Leah. We are about to get married, think carefully before you act about the decades of friendship between the Howard and Shaw families."

After speaking, Richard Shaw didn’t linger, turned to leave in his wheelchair, taking Leah to Switzerland was urgent.

Hawk Howard watched him leave, indifferent, gazing coldly at the man’s departing back, only the tightly clenched palm seeping crimson. Did Richard Shaw really think this could be hidden forever? Back then, Crystal Landon had already decided to break with him, this behavior was deceitful marriage, not only that, he was hiding an unknown secret.

This secret made him dare not even admit that Leah was Crystal Landon.

Hawk Howard coldly watched the man’s disappearing back. He would help Crystal Landon retrieve her lost memory and set things right.

Leah packed the last of her luggage at home; luckily, Casimir Shaw was grown and not that clingy, and after being toughened up at the Military District, he was completely obsessed with machinery and various physical exercises.

Leah had mentioned taking him to study in Switzerland. Casimir Shaw, though wanting to live with Mommy, hesitated when thinking of those lovable uncles at the Military District. Especially after seeing Old Shaw’s displeased look, he immediately firmed his stance, deciding to stay and accompany Great-grandma.

When he grows up, when he can beat Old Shaw, hum, he’ll accompany Mommy, leaving Old Shaw with Great-grandma.

Leah thought about leaving Casimir Shaw to accompany the elder; it’s good. When she finds Griffith Squire, she’ll return to settle in the country.

Richard Shaw returned and stayed silent, emotions subtly low. Leah saw him go out and come back with a gloomy face, raised an eyebrow, probably the man has a few days each month where his mood dips.

Leah didn’t bother with him; with separation looming, not only did she have to chat with the elder but also console Casimir Shaw and pack various luggage, who has time to comfort a big old man managing the Military District?

When Richard Shaw sulked alone for most of the day, into the night, seeing Leah finally return to the room, ignoring him, the man’s chest tightened more. He reached out to grab her wrist and said deeply, "You haven’t talked to me all day."

"Why didn’t you come to find me then?" Leah laughed angrily, looking at his resolute face, bent down and kissed him, "Be good, I’ve got to finish packing."

The man was caught off guard by her kiss, his lips unconsciously curled up, arms quickly wrapped around her waist, letting her sit on his lap, huskily saying, "Don’t pack, we’ll buy everything new there."
