SWISH.....SWISH

In the midst of the dark night, several silhouettes moved rapidly in a certain direction, their bodies covered in black dresses, tearing through the wind.

"That mansion belongs to Count Venlig, husband of one of the Orderians," one of the figures informed someone, though it seemed as if he were talking to himself.

"You mean that boy who informed us about Lily, Can be the real holder?"

A voice responded; a translucent humanoid figure moved through the forest, reflecting the moonlight like a water surface.

While the figure moved in the same direction, they pondered the possibility of the golden-eyed boy possessing the Nexus, yet it always seemed unjustifiable.

Associating his golden eyes with the Nexus would be foolish simply because of their color similarity.

However, the problem lay in the fact that the young man in question was their potential candidate for RECTIFICATION.

RECTIFICATION was the term the Order utilized to uphold their image as saviors, yet it wasn’t a straightforward task for them.

It was impossible for just some random individuals to form an organization and have humans accept them as saviors.

Especially after the formation of the Obsidian Order, Many allegations arose against them—being from Demon or Saint Realm trying to exploit the weakened state of the Human Realm, with evil intentions, as tyrants, and so on.

To deal with this, they needed to demonstrate their value to the Human Realm — Why should the Obsidian Order be chosen as the Guardians of the Human Realm?

To Prove their worth, they acted as diplomats in the Demon and Saint Realms to form alliances or, more accurately, to assure the Human Realm, of their role as guardians in the face of its vulnerability.

Convincing the Demon Queen was far more challenging than they had anticipated.

But somehow, it worked with some extravagant demands from Amrantha’s Side.

For the general inhabitants, the demands appeared to be simply providing three vital pieces of information from the Human Realm to them.

However, in reality, Amrantha Tenebri had more extensive demands:

Absolute Transparency of Information: She demanded unrestricted access to any information whenever necessary, without limitations on the number of times it needed to be provided.

Demon Access to the Human Realm: Demons were allowed to enter the Human Realm freely, as long as they didn’t cause chaos or disturbances. No actions were to be taken against them in such instances.

Exemption for Killing an Obsidian Order Member: The killing of a member of the Obsidian Order would not be considered an act that caused havoc or disruption.

End of Alliance with the Obsidian Order: If the Obsidian Order dared to enter the Demonic Realm, it would signify the termination of the alliance between the two parties.

During that period, the Obsidian Order, feeling helpless, reluctantly accepted those demands, oblivious to the impending consequences they were bound to face as a result of their decision.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the Saint Realm was preoccupied with its own matters, leading them to accept the Order’s proposal without significant formalities.

It seemed as if the Saints didn’t allocate much attention to the affairs of the Human Realm.

Upon resolving the issues surrounding their establishment, the Obsidian Order encountered another challenge—maintaining their unstable soul forms.

Though the Seven Fragments were present in this realm, but was in soul forms, they needed a supplement to maintain their bodies in that form.

And to Solve that Problem, they used their world’s knowledge to create seven Thrones inscribed with runes and inscriptions, converting this world’s mana into soul energy to maintain their true form.

This made it difficult for them to engage in battles with the strong figures from another realm.

Thus, they used, the wandering souls of warriors and their bodies to create Shadows—Front Guards of the Obsidian Order.

Referring to them as Undead would not be accurate. As they were far stronger and more loyal than typical undead creatures.

An Undead Creature is a form, created using Demonic Energy, which was inefficient for these Fragment’s Perspective — Demonic Energy caused Undeads to become irrational, lacking their own intelligence, possessing weak bodies, and moving slowly.

These challenges pushed them to refine Demonic Energy into a more conventional form, employing methods that would have been forbidden in their realm but not in this world.

They covered these individual’s bodies with techniques that allowed for the creation of Shadows — beings with faster, indestructible bodies, possessing rationality, and displaying unwavering loyalty.

Despite being a new technique, its foundational essence remained rooted in demonic energy.

To address this, they incorporated a veil to entirely eliminate any trace of demonic energy from the Shadow’s bodies.

The Obsidian Order required these shadows, but the problem was that the soul transforming into a Shadow, needed to be used with its real body, forcing the Order to find people’s corpses.

However, sticking to their strategy, it was impossible for them to randomly select individuals to convert into shadows.

In their pursuit of strong individuals, they intentionally started causing more casualties in battles among the talented and powerful ones, by not interfering even being so-called Protectors — that led them to have more Shadows.

When encountering such talented individuals, they would extend an invitation to join the Obsidian Order and become an Orderian.

Those who declined the invitation faced death, either at the hands of the Order or in subsequent battles.

Indeed, refraining from intervening and safeguarding these talented individuals would have resulted in accusations against the Obsidian Order, tarnishing their reputation and credibility, painting them as corrupted or indifferent.

After all, they needed to maintain their image as protectors.

How would they achieve this?

By creating a Villain.

To achieve that end, the Obsidian Order utilized another iteration of their Shadows.

They removed the veil of demonic energy from the Undead they had created themselves, presenting it as a supposed retaliation from the Demonic Realm.

The End result had every ability of Shadows except, the Concealment of being an Undead.

Those pawns acted as scapegoats whenever the Obsidian Order sought to enhance their image, using the eradication of those undead beings as a means to elevate themselves.

And With this,

Once again, they proved to the world that the guardians of the Human Realm were far stronger than others.

The process of creating these pawns is referred to as...

RECTIFICATION
