In the novel, “What comes after death?” introduces us to Val, who, after dying on modern-day Earth, wakes up in a strange world called Eldrich. In this unique realm, humans turn into zombies upon death, and negativity can give birth to devils. Val gains a new chance at life by acquiring the Devil System, which allows him to choose the type of devil he wants to become. The narrative unfolds as Val encounters challenges in Eldrich, such as dungeons and powerful adversaries like the Anthrolisk. In a confrontation, Val reveals his ability to summon an undead horde, showcasing his versatile and formidable nature. Val’s character is portrayed as morally ambiguous, capable of being both a saint and a devil depending on the situation. The story explores themes of reincarnation, supernatural powers, and the consequences of one’s choices in this mysterious and perilous world.

Qin Yuan finds himself in a new world after reincarnating, but the catch is that he starts inside a coffin. Despite having great strength, he’s at the end of his lifespan and has to seal his physical body. To navigate this limitation, he relies on a Spiritual Body with limited strength. The interesting twist is the introduction of a system that grants him Karma Points. These points offer various benefits, such as buying anything and even extending his life. Essentially, the story revolves around Qin Yuan’s unique situation and the opportunities presented by the Karma Points system.
For instance, Qin Yuan’s dilemma of being in a new world with a sealed body but still having access to a Spiritual Body creates a dynamic plot. The introduction of the Karma Points system adds a layer of intrigue, as it provides a mechanism for overcoming challenges and enhancing his experience in this unfamiliar realm.
