Warhammer Divine Throne
Chapter 823 - 365: Book of Chaos_2
"Under chaos, no one can survive; when green skins cross borders, all things wither." Laine said solemnly, "My Lady, I understand what you mean. Before the Moment of Destruction, we must preserve the strength of mortals and then weaken the grasp the gods of chaos have on the future."
"Indeed." The Lady of the Lake paused, then said somewhat embarrassedly, "Besides, I need you to do me a favor."
......
Early the next morning, at the Imperial Royal Hotel, Laine and Tygris sat facing each other, with milk, bread, scrambled eggs, and ham laid out on the table. The two were having breakfast together.
"So, we need to steal a Charlemagne-era artifact, the first fragment of Lilith's crown, under the nose of thousands of combat priests, over a hundred demon hunters, and thousands of fanatics in the capital of the Human Empire, from the Justice Church's secret-filled basement?" Tygris maintained a blank expression as he spoke calmly, "Lilith wants a mage and a warrior to pose as a diplomat and a wanderer?"
"A warrior who doesn't want to be a wanderer isn't a good mage, Lord Tygris." Laine used a knife and fork to cut a juicy roast pork chop, all royal special offerings from the Emperor's private kitchen.
"This really shouldn't be our job; neither you nor I are skilled at stealth. Lilith always does things like this." Tygris, after confirming the Lady of the Lake's plan several times, then murmured his complaint, "She should give this task to Shadow King Ares; even handing it to Alaros would be better than us."
"But she can only rely on us." Laine shrugged.
The Lady of the Lake has little influence among the Elves and similarly in the Empire; she can only borrow the strength of Tygris and Laine.
"...Let's first think about what to do." Tygris was silent for a while before speaking, "Avoiding the deities' perception is not difficult; my magic can achieve this. But how do we get past the huge defenses and fanatical day and night patrols?"
"Let's first confirm whether what Lilith wants is indeed underground in the Justice Church, where it is, how to obtain it, what troubles there are, and then consider how to retrieve it," Laine said in a low voice.
"Hmm, let's go to Bright Academy today." Tygris also sensed the thorny problems; he knew that Lilith could only rely on him and Laine.
The two stood up and walked outside.
Today, Tygris would tour Bright Academy, one of the Imperial Royal Wizard Academies, together with Laine, Veronica, and Teresa.
Originally, Emperor Carl Franz should be too busy to partake in this visit, but the emperor was very, very attentive to Tygris's tour of Bright Academy and even took precious time to personally accompany Laine and others on the tour.
Supreme Light Mage Vespasian Kant and Bright Academy's Director Odo were already waiting, and the Light Mages all wore white robes, with skin and hair as pale as snow, their bodies completely enveloped by the power of the Wind of Light.
"Although called the Imperial Royal Wizard Academy, the Royal Wizard Academy is not 'one' large academy but rather eight independent academies." Tygris, leaning on Lilith's Moon Staff, headed towards Bright Academy's location.
Bright Academy has always been known as the "First Academy" because the first Royal Chief Grand Mage was just Supreme Light Mage Wolan.
During the Great Holy War, Tygris managed to convince Savior Ludwig and other casters of the necessity of war, leading Ludwig to order the gathering of all casters within the Empire. Wolan responded and participated in the Great Holy War as Tygris's apprentice; by then, Wolan was several decades old, his magic talent enabled him to naturally master the Wind of Light, and his careful control of the Magic Winds ensured he avoided corruption and degeneration.
After the Great Holy War ended, Tygris appointed Wolan, nearly a century old, as the first Royal Chief Grand Mage and Supreme Light Mage.
Veronica, dressed in a wine-red velvet and charmingly intelligent dress, and Teresa, in a night-black diagonally bound plaid leather suit and leather pants, followed behind Tygris, both witches very attentively listening to Tygris's explanations.
The Royal Wizard Academy is divided into eight wizard academies, representing eight major Magic Winds; Bright Academy is hidden in a "Plane Rift" opened by Tygris's Great Curse Technique. It's a massive pyramid building, with semi-transparent outer walls as pure as diamonds, the entire structure shimmering in candlelight from over a thousand candles, emphasizing Bright Academy's solemnity.
And, at the deepest part of Bright Academy, beyond labyrinthine tunnels and countless traps, lies the "Light Pyramid," which seals the world's most precious treasures and most threatening chaos evil objects and chaos magical artifacts. However, due to the fall and betrayal of the former Supreme Light Mage, the Light Pyramid has suffered a certain degree of damage.
"What an awe-inspiring building; within the academy, I feel a strong affinity." Witch of both Light and Flame elements Veronica smiled as she spoke, "Quite comforting."
Teresa merely shook her head; the female sorcerer felt very uncomfortable in such an environment filled with the Wind of Light.
