"That’s all for today~ We will be reviewing all the results so far and we’ll let you know if you meet the criteria for the next test!" Maylene informed all of us cheerfully as the papers were being collected.

Just saying... I thought it would be weird for me to just be sitting there and not giving any answers so I just went ahead to give troll answers for the paper instead.

Like the question that was asking me what I would do if a bunch of Anomalies were going to attack the Mortal God and another bunch was going to attack the civilians.

The answer I put in there was basically ’I wouldn’t be so weak to be overwhelmed like that and I would just summon more arms to save both myself and the civilians’.

Easy.

Well... I was only doing that because I figured that it didn’t really matter since this was talking about myself anyway and my answers wouldn’t be taken seriously.

The other participants then left the place to head towards the harbour where I presume would let them return back to the mainland through a boat or something.

As for me, I was called to remain behind by Ava, which was obviously just an excuse to prevent those people from suspecting my identity as it would not make sense for me to remain while everyone left the island.

Dan did shoot me a knowing look but chose not to say anything and simply left with a wave and a wink.

Ava waited for everyone to leave before she turned to me with a smirk, "Ufufufu~ So what did you think, my Divine?"

"Are you talking about the potential candidates or the test that you guys devised?"

"Ufufufu~ Since you mentioned it, both~"

"I guess if I had to say it... I would say the test is weird but understandable and... There’s a few of the candidates who stood out but most of them did not..."

"Ara? I know who exactly you are talking about, my Divine~ Does it include the one whom you changed the fate of by rescuing them from under that rubble?"

I paused before narrowing my eyes at her, "So you did remember her?"

"Ufufufu~ Of course I did~ I had a vision that ultimately decided the path of your divinity through her after all, my Divine~"

I remembered that she mentioned something about that moment being some kind of crossroads or something but I’m not sure to what extent my fate would change if I decided to leave her there...

"Anyway, yes... She’s one of them, the other one is that pale skinned girl. What power does she even have that made the mech completely immobile like that?"

"Fufufu~ I’m afraid you would have to ask Olivia for that one, my Divine~ She is the one who has all the details~ We are merely here to conduct the tests~"

Maylene then jumped up at that moment, "Qing!! How... How did I do? Miss Olivia said that... If I did well, I might even become a Guardian candidate as well!"

Eh? Wait... She intends to make Maylene a Guardian too? Hmm... I suppose she does have quite that speedster skill that could come in handy and if she wants to be part of the Guardian group... I don’t see a reason to reject her I suppose?

I nodded at her, "You handled that really well, Maylene. I’ll let Olivia know that you did well."

She threw up her hands in celebration and let out a cheer while hopping up and down.

I really wanted to pat her right then and there but I managed to hold myself back.

I turned to Ava, "So... This tower is officially completed, isn’t it?"

"Fufufu~ More or less, my Divine. Although I’m not sure if Olivia would consider it so since she doesn’t think it’s good enough for you yet."

I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean by that?"

"Fufufu~ She still thinks that the tower could be better~ There’s still a few facilities that are still being worked on but if you ask me..." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Maylene interrupted right then, "All the facilities needed for daily needs are already up and running! We even have the air conditioning running too so if Qing wants to move in right now, you would not find anything lacking!"

Well... I already knew that considering the entire lobby did have air conditioning and the lights were also turned on as well.

"Could I explore the place?" I asked before gesturing to the luggage that I brought along as well. "And I’ve already prepared to stay actually so I can drop my things off in my room as well?"

Maylene hopped up and down again excitedly, "Yes, of course! Right this way, Qing!! I’ll show you around the important parts first before we head to your room! I really hope you like the room we made for you!"

The two of them led me out of the classroom and into the corridor, moving past several other doors that I assumed were also classrooms meant for the Bunarfs and, maybe, future other worlders that we might meet in other rifts.

We came to an elevator which brought us back to the ground floor before they moved through the lobby area where Kris and the Bunarfs manning the reception counter were still stationed.

Kris immediately ran over to us with a big smile on his face, "Heyo, Mortal God!! How did your interview go? Did you get the position you want?"

I rolled my eyes at the prankster, "I guess I have to thank you for giving me the chance to see the prospective candidates for myself... Also, were you the one that set up those test questions?"

I had a feeling that some of the questions definitely felt like it could only come from someone like him trying to trip up the people answering the questions.

"Oh that? Ahahaha~ Well... I guess I did have some influence in it... But most of them were set by Miss Olivia!"

"Well, I don’t doubt that. But you’re definitely the one who asked if they would be willing to sleep with the Mortal God, weren’t you?"

"Oh, no no no. That’s Olivia. My questions were things like making you choose if you would rescue civilians or the Mortal God."

Eh? That was from him? Well... That’s a surprise...

And for Olivia to be the one who set that other question... No, I guess it makes sense because she knows that I could also grow stronger through sexual intercourse so she wanted to know if the people here would be willing to do that in order to help me.

"So what are you doing now? Are you heading home too? The boat should be getting ready to leave now so if you run, you might catch it."

I shook my head and gestured to the luggage I brought along, "I’m planning to move in today actually."

"Ah, going to check out your room then? Could I tag along?"

I don’t see why not so I just shrugged and jerked my head to get him to follow us.

He joined Ava and Maylene in leading me towards the back of the lobby where they walked towards a corner that was hidden away from the main space of the lobby before stopping in front of a set of lifts.

She went up to press on the button and one of the lift doors opened, prompting us to step inside the metal box.

I paused when I realised that the lift looked pretty high tech with holographic projections being used to show the current floor and what looked like hardlight projections being used in place of physical buttons as well.

There was a security panel on the side and light beamed out from it to scan the bunny girl standing in front of it, causing a ’ding’ sound to echo from above us which then prompted Maylene to push her finger against one of the hardlight projections.

The lift then began to move on its own and I noted that there wasn’t any sound at all coming from the movement, almost like the entire lift was floating upwards instead of being lifted by cables.

It only took a short moment before the lift came to a stop and the door opened to reveal what I can only describe as a command centre of sorts.

The huge hall was circular in shape and there were console panels all around placed to face a large holographic screen that was floating in the air, showcasing various different things including a map of the world and various stats and graphs which I had no idea the purpose of.

This place looked like those secret bases that you might see in those spy movies where the spy organisations plan their activities which was pretty cool if you asked me.

The consoles were already manned by a few Bunarfs who were tapping away on the consoles and there was just one thing that made me stop and turn to my companions to demand an answer.

"Why are all of them wearing bunny girl outfits?"
