What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?
Chapter 881: We’re The Dog Patrol
I followed Yuki towards the building that I had just escaped from, the female CEO striding forward confidently.
There were still a few guards at the door and they immediately raised their weapons to point at us.
"Stop right there!! This place is under lockdown right now!! Especially to you!"
Yuki didn’t look too concerned, especially since she had brought her three dogs along and all of them stood protectively in front of us and growled at the guards that were aiming at us.
"ARe you really sure you want to turn us away right now? I know for a fact that you guys are facing a really big problem right now."
"What do you know?!"
She gestured at her dogs, "My dogs have sensed another dog inside your building. And I know for a fact that your boss isn’t a Biotamer nor does he have any Biotamers in his employ. That can only mean one thing if you were to think about it."
The guards all shared a look with each other.
One of them was actually brave enough to continue pointing his rifle at Yuki, "You were the one who set this up, weren’t you?!"
She crossed her arms, "How do you even suppose I might have done that? Did you see me walking through these doors and dropping off a dog inside your building or something?"
All of the guards here knew that they did not see anyone going inside the building so that could not have been what happened.
Although... I suppose there was one guard who saw me and tried to question me... But I had run off and disappeared before he could actually approach me so hopefully he either forgot about it or thought I was just a figment of his imagination.
Well... At least he did not see my face so even if I were to show up here, he wouldn’t be able to recognise me even if he saw me again.
One of the guards stepped forward, his gun lowered, "What do you think is happening then? Since you seem so sure of yourself."
She inspected her nails casually, "I don’t think you are qualified to speak to me, are you? Where’s your boss? I should be talking to him instead."
No one spoke up, since I’m pretty sure they have realised by now that their boss was not answering their calls for some reason so he must be in trouble.
Yuki tapped her foot impatiently, "Well? Where is your boss? Or is he too afraid to face me after what he did to my exhibition?"
"We don’t know what you’re talking about," One of the guards denied a little too quickly for it to be natural.
She scoffed, "Whatever. I’m not here for that and I will have my own way of settling the scores with him later. But if he actually did something stupid like trying to get an untrained dog for himself thinking he can somehow one up me... Then I need to let him know just how out of his depth he is. Now are you going to call him or not?"
The guards looked at each other, unsure of what they should do at this point.
Finally, one of them whom I presumed was the leader of this group stepped forward.
"Unfortunately... We cannot reach our boss right now... We suspect... He might be..."
Yuki frowned, "You’re not telling me he actually went to try and tame the dog himself and got himself killed?"
No one said anything.
Yuki scowled and started marching towards the door, "Get out of my way right now!"
The guards did not move and remained where they were.
"I said get out of the way! Do you want to deal with the dog that your boss unleashed yourself? Should I go tell the owner of this station that you guys have a dog loose in your building that you are unable to control?"
One of the guards pointed at me, "We can let you in but... Not an unrelated party like her."
Yuki rolled her eyes, "The reason why I brought her along is the fact that she’s able to control more creatures than I can. So her presence is necessary."
"Then... Your dogs. You have to leave them here."
"Oh yeah, sure. Let us face the dog that you let loose without at least a few other dogs as protection because fuck us, right? Do you really think I want to face a dog without being, at least, under the protection of a few of my own? If you really insist, I guess you guys will just have to deal with the fact that my dogs would probably be really angry if I showed up dead in front of them."
The guards reluctantly stepped aside and allowed us to enter.
I waited until the door closed behind us before I whispered to her, "You’re a pretty good actor..."
She smoothened her clothes, "I wouldn’t call it acting but more that I understand how they think and what they need to hear to give what I want."
"In other words, you are good at manipulating others, huh?"
"Apparently, I’m not that great at doing it with you."
I raised an eyebrow at her, "Is that supposed to make me feel better?"
She chose not to respond and just walked towards the lift where more guards were gathered.
They saw her approach and tried to block her way, only to realise there were three dogs following her and they immediately parted like the red sea, letting her walk straight up to the elevator.
Yuki waved at them, "Leave this to the professionals and step aside."
No one stopped her as she stepped into the elevator that led towards the higher floors.
We reached the same place as the last time where I first met Kaito before we went to his office.
The lift that led to his personal office was also crowded with guards and there was one person whom I recognised in that crowd.
It was the secretary bodyguard who had been stationed here earlier and I knocked her out with a back hand when she tried to stop me earlier...
I totally forgot about her after I knocked her out... Guess she wasn’t there for the final fight.
Considering how she’s currently wrapped up and limping on a foot, I think I hit her harder than I thought...
She must have woken up some time after I started fighting with her colleagues and she called the other guards for backup since she was unable to move.
But now the lift is jammed because I stuffed the corpses in the lift door to prevent it from moving and they’re all stuck down here now.
She spotted us approaching them and immediately pulled out a gun to point at us.
"You bitch. What are you doing here?!" She demanded, prompting the rest of the guards to raise their weapons as well.
Yuki whistled and the dogs once again arranged themselves in front of her, growling threateningly at the guards in front of them.
Almost all of them took a step back once they saw the dogs, some of them turning to look at the secretary bodyguard with concern.
Yuki waved at them, "Relax. I’m not here to cause trouble. Even though you guys went ahead to try and mess up my exhibition and everything. I’m more concerned about the fact that my dogs had detected another dog present in your building so I came here to make sure your stupid boss isn’t trying anything stupid."
The secretary frowned, "We don’t have any dogs."
"Well, maybe you should ask your boss then. I want to speak to him."
"You don’t have an appointment."
Yuki gestured at the dogs in front of her, "Really? I see three open slots to meet with your boss right now. Are you going to tell me no?"
The secretary looked back at the guards around her for a moment before turning back to us and sighing, "The lift has been stuck for a while... We can’t get up there... There’s no other way to his office."
"That’s a shitty design. How have you not thought about what will happen when the lift gets stuck?"
No one said anything.
Yuki shooed at them, "Move aside."
This time, they obeyed and she pointed at the lift door, prompting one of the goldies to rush forward and give the doors a kick with her hind legs.
The doors got blasted away, revealing the elevator shaft behind it and a way for us to climb up.
We went over to the shaft and looked up, finding a ladder that we could use to climb and the elevator itself sitting on the floor that was above us.
We’ll probably have to cut our way into the bottom of the elevator to get in as well but... I guess we found our way up now.
Ok, now doggies... Who wants a ride?
