100X Return System: My Talent Awakening Becomes a God-Level Cheat
Chapter 73: Land of the Undefeated [6]
’Unbelievable. How could she have stopped that? I put enough force in it."
Aegon was staring, puzzled at Cancer, who seemed unfazed by their last exchange. Normally, if it was a regular monster that blow of his would have dealt a lot of damage.
However, in the case of Cancer, it felt like a breeze, only a small steam that was produced.
Aegon did not dwell on it for so long as he knew this was only the beginning.
He knew that if she had withstood that blow, all he needed to do was put in more strength.
"Here she comes."
Cancer leaned forward in a low, crouched high-intensity stance putting her weight on her legs, and bending them forward with pure strength as if she was going to fall.
Her hands held the sword at her side with perfect precision.
Then, she charged forward with pure strength and a speed that was almost instantaneous, cracking the ground beneath her feet as she launched.
Seeing her sudden approach at high speed, giving me little time to think, Aegon raised both his hands and was now the one in a high guard block for the protection of what was coming.
Although he had the absolute deflection field around him, he still didn’t want to take any chances.
She has proven to be a strong opponent from the start of the battle so it was wrong of him to underestimate her.
In that moment, her sword collided with both of his hands, and there was a spark of white light from the force.
Aegon’s hands were able to take the full force of her swing but she didn’t back down.
Cancer added all her strength to her grip trying as much as she could to send me flying, however, it was futile.
Seeing that this was her goal, Aegon’s lips curled up.
At that moment, at a very insane speed he used his left hand to grab the blade, so fast that Caner was unable to react on time.
Now that his left hand held the blade, his right hand was free. At that exact moment, he engulfed his right hand in more mana than the last time.
He raised his now engulfed-right arm which was clenched tightly, making Cancer’s neck move as her eyes saw his raised hand.
Currently, she was still trying to cut through his left hand that was holding her, but with this distraction of his right hand and the purple aura of the mana surrounding it, she knew she had to change her current plan.
"No, you don’t"
Cancer tried to pull back, and Aegon saw this. But not letting him go, he used his left hand which was holding the blade to pull her back, closer to him.
Her void eyes met his, as it locked empty and out of this world. But deep down, it showed an expression of struggle.
Aegon, seeing this, twinkled at her, then using his right hand engulfed in mana, he punched her face, instantly sending her flying and crashing into buildings. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"Hm."
For over five seconds, Cancer was still crashing into the buildings since it was very difficult for her to reduce her momentum.
However, she took her sword and slammed the tip of the blade on the ground of one of the inner buildings which she used to stop her movement.
This worked and she was able to gain her balance back. But she was already a far distance away from Aegon and would probably take her a while before getting to him.
And during that time he would have already made his way to the castle.
"Hmph."
Aegon was looking to his left, in a distance where he had sent Cancer flying, and seeing that the movement had stopped he noticed.
But after a long while and not seeing her appear yet, he thought that blow of his had done it.
"Hm, I guess she was nothing more>"
He had said this and turned away, facing the castle as that was where his next stop was. But, even as he thought of this he didn’t let his guard down.
Just then, as he took his first step, a voice spoke out like a loud speaker.
"Oh Cancer, I feel your pain. He is cheating, is he not?"
’Hm?’ Aegon recognized the voice, ’old man?’
Hearing him speak, Aegon was able to recognize that the voice was the administrator’s.
"Of course," the administrator’s voice continued. "I can not let you loose when you are my perfect work. Therefore, I will bestow you a gift."
Aegon raised his head trying to pick up where the voice was coming from, but he wouldn’t. He was unable to pick an exact location as the voice was sounding from everywhere.
Then, in the distance where he had sent Cancer, his eyes were fixed at it, as he felt something of some kind making a sound.
In that exact moment, Cancer burst out from a building flying directly to Aegon, her sword stretched forward at him.
Aegon saw this and noticed that her form had somewhat changed, but that wasn’t his current priority.
At first, he wanted to evade her attack, but he simply stayed, standing still as if he was embracing her attack.
Cancer, seeing the way he stood suddenly stopped her movement only a few meters away from him.
"Hm?" Upon seeing this, Aegon was left perplexed.
Cancer stopped for a reason. She wasn’t a brainless monster or being. She had reason, and therefore applied it to her fighting strategy.
Although she had said no word since she appeared, she was thinking in her head.
"You thought you were the only one that was wise?" the administrator’s voice echoed again. "Hmph, I have bestowed on her a gift and with this all your schemes will be exposed and bypassed..."
Aegon was surprised to hear his voice again as he looked up.
But at the last word of the administrator, his voice faded away as though he had left the scene.
"Where is that old man?" Aegon muttered under his breath.
He had noticed as the administrator’s voice faded away, then he brought his head down, looking at Cancer.
’Gift? What gift?
Cancer was standing a couple meters from Aegon with a reasonable distance. Not so far, but not so close.
Aegon seemed to notice her gaze, staring at him directly and he felt that same feeling he had earlier when she was charging at him.
"Did she?... Hold on, did he give her?"
Aegon could feel it, the gift which Cancer was given and he was certain of what it was.
It was something she did not have before when they started fighting, since she only relied on her physical strength, but now she wouldn’t be needing that any longer.
While Cancer was standing, her void glowed from deep black and white to green.
Her focus was on Aegon as she was analyzing him and trying to figure out why he had wanted her to strike him.
What confidence did he have to pull such a risky move,
Aegon was still wondering what was going on with her even after he had realized the gift she was given, when he heard the sound of the system and a window appeared before him.
[Ding! Alien Invasion Detected!]
[Content: A sudden stare of the void is concentrating on you and trying to break through your barrier!]
[Detection possible, because of similar alignment with the Void of Nothingness!]
[Ding! Threat Identified!]
[Threat: Cancer, War Maiden - Knight of the sixth and seventh region!]
[Threat is able to bypass the nature of the barrier ability!]
’Threat? Bypassing the barrier ability? What does that mean?’
Aegon raised his gaze up at Cancer.
’Is it talking about her. Is she the threat?"
It was at this moment that Aegon realized what was actually going on.
"Is she trying to counter by ability?"
The gift in which Cancer had been given was the ability to perceive and manipulate mana. And now she was using the power gained to scan Aegon.
While doing this, she could see traces of the mana circulating his body like a bubble, which was the absolute deflection field.
Seeing this, Cancer knew this was the reason why he had stood when she was about to attack.
Because he had something that could keep him safe, therefore he was unfazed. This was also the reason he was able to stop her sword with his bare hands and feel unaffected.
Cancer’s expression suddenly changed in a cold expression and her mana began to surge out of her.
Aegon was unable to see her sudden change of expression because of the hood over her head, but with the way her mana began rising, he could feel the sudden shift of the air.
In that moment, Cancer’s eyes changed back to black and white and then, holding her sword up with both hands, she poured mana into it.
The dark and ominous feeling of the void of nothingness engulfing her entire body as she reused the stance as before.
Cancer dropped low with her legs bent like a spring, hands locked on her sword engulfed with mana, and in a sudden burst of dark energy, she launched forward like a force that was almost instant.
