Chapter 124: Chapter 124: Slaughter

The moment Adrian stood up, Dalaway felt like his throat has been bitten by a giant maw.

" Get ready." He told his vampires and the barons stood together and used the plebians as cover.

The plebian vampires didn’t like that but they couldn’t complain. Adrian looked past them and directly at the barons.

Then he took a step forward, he disappeared from their eyes. Dalaway reacted and conjured a shield of blood.

The other vampires were too slow and before they could react, a single crescent blade flew from behind.

The blade was nearly 10 metres long, it covered a wide area and cut five barons in half.

A single attack took five of them at once, " Ahhhh." Dalaway roared and fired blood bullets at Adrian.

His heart was pounding with fear, his eyes met two silver orbs. Before he could do anything he watched as two more barons died.

’ Fuck fuck fuck.’ Dalaway had never felt so much fear, he had never felt so helpless before, the difference in their strength was too much.

’ Monster, what kind of monster are we facing." The silver blur moved again, he was so fast his eyes couldn’t track him at all.

In Dalaway’s mind, anything that can treat vampire barons like this on the same level would at minimum have to be equal to a duke.

If that was the case, then even if he brought another 1000 vampires, nothing would change, they would all die nonetheless.

’ Run.’ that was the only thought in his mind, he knew they couldn’t win this fight, it was impossible.

Fortunately he had sent a message back home, at least even if they died, the council would know about this monster.

Dalaway didn’t know that the council was already aware of Adrian’s existence, they just couldn’t act freely.

After all, the supernatural world was governed by rules even the vampire council couldn’t break.

Dalaway stopped attacking Adrian with his abilities and tried something else. As Suzie had suspected.

Dalaway did notice their strange reaction towards the chains. Of course he didn’t think the issue was with silver itself.

He believed the enchantment is what they feared. So he dragged multiple chains and threw them at Adrian.

They spread out like a wild net covering the sky above him. Dalaway saw the monster look up.

Then he snapped his fingers and the chains shattered like glass. Dalaway froze, " That.. that’s impossible!"

He shouted because he had seen a level 3 baron struggling to break those chains, it took them some effort.

Yet this guy did it with a snap of a finger, didn’t that mean he was stronger than a level 3 baron?

The implications of that were more than what the others realised. It was a known fact that the difference between levels was high than rankings.

This becomes especially true the high the rank. At level 1 and 2, one can fight an entire level above them if they’re 2 ranks above their opponent.

But that isn’t true between level 2 and three, you need to at least be 3 ranks above your opponent or have a special ability.

Meaning one would need to be a duke to fight a level 3 baron while at level 2 but to be stronger than one.

" You...you can’t be." He stumbled back, despair gripped his heart like a cold hand of a vengeful maiden.

Dalaway had never in his life seen an archduke but he had heard legend of them and their overwhelming power.

In existence, there were only four known archdukes and each one stood at the peak of the vampire society.

Vampires were one of the oldest and strongest Fayera. More than that, the difference in their ranking were too clear.

Therefore they tended to be used as a benchmark to measure the rankings of others.

However the rest didn’t understand that difference as clear as vampires, they basically worshipped those of higher ranking.

Facing somebody he estimated to be at the same level as an archduke. Dalaway lost all thought of resistance.

The other vampires noticed his state but they didn’t have the time to care about him, their lives were more important.

They forgot about fighting and tried to run, the fastest of them had only taken two steps when his head rolled.

The others paused and looked at Adrian, they thought it was him who attacked but he was standing in front of the kneeling Dalaway looking down on him.

Before they could think any further, a second head rolled, they knew there was something lurking in the darkness.

The fear of the unknown made them act irrational. They screamed and scrambled to run in opposite directions.

The other Werewolves also took action, the vampires stood no chance against the slaughter.

Melissa had the widest smile of them all, her methods were so gruesome the vampires decided to run towards others.

This pissed them off, while their killing methods didn’t involve ripping heads of with their bare hands.

They weren’t straw men either, seeing the vampires choose to run towards them made them feel like they were being underestimated.

The couple were the most restrained most of the time but tonight they revealed their fangs as well.

Louis conjured and there daggers like they were bullets, each one piercing through the head of an enemy.

Since most vampires were plebian, killing them was not very hard for the werewolves and as Dalways had first thought.

By moving around, they prevented themselves from being surrounded and thus only faced two to five vampires at once.

On top of the vampires being unorganized and trying to run for their lives, this was no longer a fight but a slaughter.

The omega Werewolves also took action and took out the plebian vampires who were trying to run.

They were relatively to those vampires in strength but having abilities gave the Werewolves an edge.

The vampires were consumed by nothing but despair. Adrian watched without killing Dalaway.

He had known long ago that this was the leader which is why is he was still alive, he wanted him to see his army get slaughtered.

Eventually the last of the vampires died, the Werewolves looked very excited, so many hearts.

Not only will the Gemma reach level 2, even the Omega were bound to reach level 2 this time.

Unfortunately Adrian needed significantly more esper to reach level 3 and level 2 hearts are unlikely to be enough.

Dalaway accepted his death, he knew he wouldn’t be leaving here alive. He looked up and saw two glowing silver orbs glaring back.
