He tried to resist but found the compulsion of Adrian was too strong. Adrian himself was surprised it worked.

He had expected a vampire to have consumed mindvein, but apparently not, ’ I wonder why?’

Dalaway spilled everything he knew about the vampire council and the noble houses, especially those who might want Adrian dead.

Unfortunately he didn’t know too much but Adrian didn’t know that. In his arrogance he believed he now knew a lot about the vampire council.

Adrian was about to kill Dalaway but saw him looking to his left with horrified eyes, there stood a woman carrying a severed head.

Adrian wondered what shook Dalaway so much about this head. Dalaway felt despair even more.

That head belonged to the vampire who was meant to deliver the message back to the council.

Then he remembered there was still the shadow bat, ’ I hope it gets there safely.’ the issue with those bats was that they were weak while containing too much pure esper.

Most airborne Gadra consume them anytime they see them without exception, using them was very risky.

He knew there was nothing he could do to change the situation so he closed his eyes and accepted death.

Adrian granted him a quick death and cut off his head with a single attack. Then he turned back towards the woman with the severed head.

" Athi." He called out in a low calm voice but it made Athi shiver as if the temperature around her had dropped.

All the werewolves found themselves backing off, they could sense a terrifying aura around him.

" Ye..yes boss." Athi answered in a shivering voice, for some strange reason ste felt an overwhelming feeling of fear.

Adrian’s cold eyes stared directly into her, his body blurred and the next moment he was in front of her.

Their faces were only a few centimetres apart, she could feel his breath on her face and saw deep into his eyes.

What she saw was not the boss she was used to but a savage wolf that devoured the land itself.

" I do not take kindly to my orders being ignored, tell me, why are you here when I ordered you to guard her?"

His question hung in the air, Athi shivered and found her body going down on one knee.

’ Strange, he’s strange, this...this is not the boss I know, what happened to him?’ she asked herself that.

She had a feeling if she answered wrongly she would lose her heard right here before she could even blink.

Athi was not a fool, she knew she wouldn’t last a fraction of a second against Adrian even if you doubled her strength.

" I..I thought." The moment she tried to speak she felt a heavy pressure on her shoulders.

She strained to raise her head and saw him looking down on her but his entire body was surrounded by a silver light that danced around him like ribbons.

The group around him cracked and the cracks kept spreading. She felt her body sinking into the ground.

" Your only thoughts she be about her safety, that were your orders, tell me Athi, what should I think when you’ve jeopardised her life?"

’ How the hell do I answer that, the question is unreasonable to begin with, boss is not being fair right now.’

Adrian felt his anger rising because right now, his telepathy was so strong she might as well have been screaming her thoughts.

Something ancient started awakening inside him. The fox tail lost its luster rapidly but Adrian didn’t notice.

Suzie and Sam did, " Hey dude, calm down, think about this clearly." Sam tried to stop him.

" My lord, I think sir Sam is correct perhaps it’s best this discussion proceeds within the safety of the city."

Adrian heard them speak, ’ Why? Why do they think they can tell me what to do? They are my creation.

’ What was I just thinking about?’ he looked down at Athi then what he had just done came back to him.

He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. " You’re right, I was being unreasonable right now.

You can get back to your duty, your share of the hearts will be delivered to you." He told Athi then turned around and walked off.

Hw rushed back to the city, the fox tail only had a few strands that were still glowing and he needed to get back quick.

With his speed he reached the city before long and continued back home. The others arrived much later.

" Dude what was that?" Sam asked as soon as they got there. Not only was he worried, he was also terrified.

John and the others stayed for a bit longer then left to do their own things, mostly to party to celebrate their victory.

The omega Werewolves arrived even later carrying large bags with vampire hearts, he left the job of distribution to Suzie.

He went to his room, what had happened terrified Adrian as well. He felt himself changing as if somebody was taking over him.

He couldn’t explain it, ’ Am I being possessed?’ he wondered. ’ If only Meggie was still here.’

Times like this was when he missed her the most, they didn’t spend long together but like any teenager.

Adrian was very dependent on her like she was his mother, especially emotionally. Her absence didn’t make things easier for him.

He tried to hide it by acting cool and detached sometimes but deep down he was just a kid.

’ I need to deal with this tomorrow.’ he thought and closed his eyes then immediately found himself somewhere else.

’ This dream again.’ he saw the same thing as the first time. A flames ignited and burnt within a glass orb.

The glass shattered and a sea of blood flooded in and drowned a moon devouring its light.

He was about to ignore the dream but saw something else, within those flames, a cloud of darkness rose to combat the sea of blood.
