Chapter 188: 188. Vampires at Coldehade City 3

He walked in with a team of trained and armed soldiers. The one’s he would usually sent to infiltrate and raid packs and vampire bases all around the world. He doesn’t want to let these two vampires walk out of there alive. They have proven to be better than the others he had let and encountered so it was best to deal with them.using the best of men. It was risky because he might end up losing some treasures among them but it was better to maintain face than lose completely to the creatures he had trained them to kill.

They entered and were received with a warm.ile from Dmitri as if he was receiving honored guests into his home. The sight stunned Jarred and then he flared up in anger.

"You are finally here," Dmitri said with a nod of his head and his smile still intact.

"My Lord," Azeaul called and he turned to look at him even with the guns pointed at them ready to rain silver bullets on them and gasses filled with silver. "Would you like me to take care of them for you?" Azrail asked without caring about the snickers they received from the humans.

"I will take care of these myself, a little exercise wouldn’t hurt." Dmutri said with a wave of his hand. Azeiall nodded and just watched on without a single expression on his face.

"You must be the friend we have come to see, Jarred, if I am not wrong." Dmitri spoke in a very friendly tone as if to emphasize the word ’friend’ which he had earlier said.

"Kill them both." Jared ordered and stepped behind as they circled around him. He had had enough of these creatures destroying his hard work and making him lose face.

"Why do you have to make it so difficult? I only came to talk, but see what you made me do." He said and then looked at the people who were dead on the floor. "If they didn’t attack, we would not have killed them."

"I said kill them!" Jarred ordered again when they made no movement even after his order. He frowned because they still didn’t move and then looked at the ever growing smile on the voire’s face and gritted his teeth. He clenched his fists tight realizing that he must have done something to his men. "What did you do to them?" He asked and took the gun from the man closest to him.

"You noticed, that’s commendable," Dmitri said and walked to sit down again. "Tell me a little something, Mr. Cage, why do you hate out kind so much?"

"You don’t even like your own kind. Why shouldn’t I hate it?" Jarred shot back at him and Dmittri chuckled light heartedly.

"That is not entirely wrong, you do have a point there. But you are still wrong," Hus expression shifted from that of the happy vampire to one who was ready to go on a mass slaughter. "I care about my people, and I will kill whoever bets in the way." He snapped his fingers and Azrail brought the girl to him. "You humans are so frail, fragile even, yet you go against our kind." he stood up and walked behind the girl.

He immobilized her and tilted her head to the side, "So weak," he grazed her neck with his claws and blood dripped from it. "So naive." He held her neck and snapped it and she dropped to her knees. Her body falling to one side and her head following closely but separately. "So quick to die."

He stepped away from her body when blood started to pull under her and almost taught his feet. "I just lost my dessert."

"Should I bring another one, My Lord?" Azrail asked, like the ever faithful and ready to help the servant that he had become. Dmitri smiled.

"Please do."

Jarred was so angry he almost turned red. He fired but they easily dodged and the bullet hit the wall. They then looked at him like he was some idiot who had refused to learn. "Stop right there." He commanded but none listened to him.

"You talk a lot." Azrail said and as he picked a man among the team Jarrwd had brought and walked back to Dmitri Who wasted no time and sank his fangs into his neck. Jared watched on not knowing how to retort, he had barely spoken since he entered but he was being accused of talking too much. He also did not know what to do now because it was clear that day that he was alone. His men were of no use standing like statues around him.

"What did you do to my men?"

Dmitri removed his fangs and stared at Jared as he lived his lips as if savoring the taste of the blood he just forcefully taken. "They are just resting." he said and retracted his fangs.

Jared fired at that exact moment catching them off guard. They did not expect him to fire seeing as he had been standing there looking angry the whole time. The bullet grazed Dmitri’s cheek because he was quick to move. There was a burnt mark on the spot it touched.

But the vampire looked at him without a single expression. He did just even hiss like others normally do whenever they came in contact with silver. But his eyes became crimson as he stared at the human. The scar on his cheek was quick to heal and cover up but that did not quench the anger he felt at the sneak attack.

The attack was able to divert his attention and his power over the human soldiers broke and they regained control over their limbs again.

From the side, Azrail looked like a ripper ready to tear to shreds the puny humans. He let his claws and fangs out and his eyes flickered becoming and split into slits looking akin to that of a serpent.

Feeling the murderous aura and killing intent directed at them from the other vampire, they quickly adjusted their stance and readied themselves for any assult from both of them.

"What should I do with them, My Lord?" Azrail asked. To him, it was beyond felony to hurt the Lord, especially one who was the last of the old vampires alive. He had lived so long caring on the legacy of their race and passing it on to the younger generations. There were very few vampires now who could turn humans but he could at will. And whoever he turns too, will possess the same ability. They could rarely reproduce due to the fact that they do not have a beating heart to supply blood and need to feed on blood from other creatures which shifters were out of the equation, but he could at will and therefore he was a treasure that they should guard and protect very jealousy.

"Kill them all." Dmitri said in a cold and sound chilling tone that reverberated through the room that had turned silent.

"Yes, Lord Dmiri." Azrail said, taking his eyes of Dmitri and focusing them.on the humans.

Hearing the name Lord Dmitri clearly and so close up now, no longer behind the screen, Jarred finally realized who he was dealing with. This is as the Lord of Vampire whom Crysta had mentioned to him before. He looked at the vampire, he did not look like the one who was described to be the lord’s right hand, Leroy, meaning that the other vampire was away or he was yet to come.

He didn’t need to be told that they were in danger to realize this now. It was no wonder they could just walk into enemy territory without gear or a single care in the world about their safety. Taking out a gas mask, even though it won’t affect him, he threw a gas bomb mixed with silver in the room and then stepped away. The soldiers retreated with him but not all could make it as Azrail attacked them, killing them off swiftly.

He was about to go after them when he felt the itch on his skin and realize what they thrown at them. They heard the doors locks snap and they knew they have been locked in. He turned to look at Dmirti who still stood where he was staring at the door with his red eyes looking as if the silver in the air did not affect him. "Take down the wall." Dmitry ordered.

Attacking the door would be fruitless and a waste of time. They were sure the door must have been re-enforced or booby trapped. They wouldn’t lock them in if that was not the case. Azrail nodded and ran into the wall using his vampire strength. It was much harder because the silver had started to work in his system making him slower and reducing his strength. After another hit, the wall fell creating an opening enough for a full grown man to walk through.

"It is done my lord," He said and Famitri walked out and he followed behind him.

Stepping outside, they were received with an army waiting and ready to attack. They stopped moving and just looked at them expressionlessly.

"I have heard of you, Lord Dmitri, I just never thought we will meet like this." Jared said. He has the upper hand now. He had the number advantage though it has proven useless before, he was sure if it this time. The voire had been weakene by the gas. "It’s a shame this would be our goodbye too."
