Kora blinked, not expecting that question at all. What exactly was going on in her mate’s head now? Why would he think of something like that? She wondered.

["No, but they won’t be able to survive if you don’t stop, You promised you wouldn’t kill them,"] she reminded him but he growled instead and his aura became even stronger that it even made Kora angry. ["Stop it,"] she said, but he didn’t listen. She sighed and breathed deeply.

His beast was on the surface and he was even more jealous than anything that Kora could imagine. Just because she asked him not to kill a person he thought she cared about another man other than him. She knew something like this would happen when she saw how angry Darren was at the mention of the pack, that was why she didn’t want to leave him alone with them.

["I only love you, you know that,"] she said, cupping his face in her palms and letting the mate bond do its work. ["I want Darren back, could you let him out?"] she asked. She felt the pressure in the air reduce and more life coming into the pitiful shifters and knew that he had withdrawn.

"I am sorry," he said to her but she did not react to it. Neither accepting nor rejecting his apology. She was upset with him. ["It won’t happen again, I promise," ] he said again.

So much for a good day! He thought.

"Get up, all of you," he said and concealed his aura completely. It was after this that he noticed the two other features in the room that were of a different species. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Thank you alpha," They all said and stood up but not daring to look him in the eyes. They could no longer feel his aura at all but what happened earlier had taught them not to think otherwise.

Ramiel gritted his teeth at the happening but he resigned his emotions and stood tall like before. He needed to get his pack out of danger and this man seated in front of him right now had the power and ability to do that.

Kora looked at Ramiell and those with him and saw that she was not happy and she let out an inaudible before she asked them to sit. No matter, they had come a long way searching for them, and from the looks of it, they needed help so treating them this way would rather make enemies out of them and she didn’t want any more enemies, they already had a lot of those.

"I would like to know what happened to your father and your pack," Damina said after they were seated.

"Two years ago, a human spotted a pup who had gone out for a run and took him to a wild and hunted him down, after much running but he was still unable to shake him off, he did the only thing that he could do to make sure he was killed, he shifted. But when the human saw this, instead of letting him go, he informed the other humans about it and they attacked our packs, raiding it and burning everything to the ground, killing many of us, even our neighbors. My father did what he could to save the pack but he was caught in the process. We thought about teaching out the union, through the council but it was a matter of urgency,"

There was no time to call for help and we would have all been dead if we had waited for help to arrive seeing the distance between us and the rest of the packs, especially yours, Alpha, having no other option, we took matters into our own hands and faced the humans directly, trying safe as many we could but the humans that later came to join the group of hunters whom we had encountered were different, they appeared more informed, well equipped and trained at hunting our kind and we were unprepared for this

Many died while those who survived had to go into hiding because those human hunters never stopped searching for us."

"I took over as Alpha of Desert Pack a while later and had been leading my people. We have tried many times to get help from the closest pack to be Noticed that thru had moved leaving us alone in that area. A few months after becoming Alpha of my pack, I found these two shifters here," he pointed at the teenagers he had brought with him. "They are not werewolves, but they are shifters and they were found near death, His Pride was attacked too and so was her Streak, she is a white tiger, and him a lion. They have been with me and my pack since then."

Darren and Kora were both surprised when they learned of the identity of the two. Though they knew it was possible to have other creatures and shifters out there, they didn’t expect to meet them and learn about them in this way.

But they wondered if they would be able to fit into a pack properly. They were already grown and in their teens, they were not cubs anymore so they could not be groomed in the ways of the wolves. How would they fare in a wolf pack? They were all shifters with a human side, but they don’t let go of their animal side either even when they are in their human skins, so how have these two shifters been coexisting with the pack?

["I told you they might have a valid reason,"] Kora’s voice invaded his mind, making his head snap in her direction. She was right, they did have a good reason to stay out of reach and hidden for so long. They would have all died had they waited for help from outside the pack. He apologized to her before looking back at the guests.

"What do you want me to do, for you and them?" Darren asked. They must do something that he wanted for coming this far and so suddenly too l, he even brought these two rare creatures with him.

"I would like to ask Alpha and Luna Supreme to help relocate my pack to another territory because we are constantly under siege and we are living in fear of being killed by hunters at any moment," he said and Darren nodded. Seeing that, he proceeded to state his next request. "They need a place to stay. It has not been easy for me to cater to them and my pack at the same time and I would like it if Alpha could get them a place to stay. I don’t want them roaming around with the risk of being killed."
