Chapter 206: 206. History will remain history

Kora focused her attention on the vampire after she was sure that Alpha Lazarus was out of sight. Gaia took partial control, both conscious and in control at the same time with one retreating.

The blue stripes on her hair started glowing and her eyes shone confirming her presence. Looking back one last time just to be sure, she returned her haze to Dmitri who now stood in front of her just a few feet away.

They stared at each other with none speaking, making the air heavy. He had a laid back look but Kora was getting frustrated with the silence.

"Why did you call us out here, Dmitri?" she asked, breaking the heavy silence. She didn’t want to be out here for too long. He may not have the intention to hurt her but there was no telling what else the vampire had planned. He was crafty and cunning as far as she could remember.

"I honestly thought that you had forgotten the ancient ways of communication, Gaia, you know, with you dying and being born again," he said with a smile.

"What do you want, Dmitri?" she asked again with much impatience in her tone.

But the vampire just shrugged and ran his eyes over her body which made her turn alert. He raised a brow and chuckled. "I don’t worry, I won’t go anything," he said but she glared at him. "I have a proposition to make," he said, now getting serious.

"If it is about what you and the Civem head are planning, keep.me out of it." she said but he gave no reaction.

"So you know?" he asked without much surprise. "You always have to know everything, don’t you?"

"Is that all?" she asked, folding her arms across her chest. She knew that there was more but the vampire just enjoyed dragging the conversation and she was not in the mood for that. He had already found out something that she didn’t know, staying here longer wouldn’t be beneficial to her.

"I need your blood, Gaia, or should I call you Luna Kora?" he said. He looked sincere which was unlike him. Whenever he spoke, there was that mischievous glint in his eyes no matter how serious his tone was. Or how serious his expression was but right now there was none.

"You have been trying to do that millennia now, Dmitri, only so you could take over the world and rule it yourself, why should I do that?/why should I give you and your witch my blood? So you both can use it for your selfish reasons?" she asked with a big drown on her face.

"You know very well that that is not why I have asked for it this time," he said. He stared at her intently for a moment and then Stared at the trees behind her. "This war will required it." he looked at her again, "You know I am right,"

She was silent. She had a dark future but she wished it would be a bit farther than now, but it was only a wish that would never come true. She could not deny herself the truth that the future that awaits them was a dark and bloody one.

"Or do you see a better future?" he asked. He knew of her visions, though he was surprised at first that she could see into the future in this life, he assumed it to be the doing of the goddess wanting to bring back the Mystic wolves and preserve them. Gaia never had the height of vision in the past, this could only be said to be a gift given to Kora by the Moon goddess.

"Right, now, Luna Supreme, yell.me what you see in the next coming months," he said and took a step closer to her while she took one back. "It is different from what we all know it would be?" he walked closer again but this time she didn’t move but stood in the same place.

Their gazes locked as he towers over her but she didn’t feel small at all. Gaia remembered the last time they had a conversation like this and it ended up with them turning against each other because they had opposing views but this time I was different, the truth stared at them right in the eyes and there is nothing anyone can do about it but to prepare for it.

"When that time comes, I will give it to you and anyone who needs it," she said, without breaking contact with him. ’But for now, I won’t give it to you because you ask for it, it is my blood and a part of me I will giving out to you, after all,"

He stared at her for a while longer knowing what was true. Her blood was important because of what it could be used to do. It could be used to make spells and potions stronger and at the same time, it could also I creas the physical strength of anyone who drinks it. Like him.

It would work better if she gives it willingly and is not forced to do it.

There was a downside to it. She would lose a bit of her powers with each drop of blood that is being lit to use in anyone if these purposes and her life will be shortened too. She would live longer than regular shifters. The lifespan of a lustiv wolf was so long that they could be considered immortal but if they lose their blood, it ahortwns their powers and lifespan as well especially when forced thigh the result wouldn’t be significant as when it is offered and given willingly.

"We don’t have much time, Gaia," he said, being the first to break eye contact. Sooner than later, we will receive the confrontation that was always destined to happen. They did try in the past and we withdrew to the shadows, away from their eyes and their knowledge of us became limited until it was lost to time. But now, we have been found again, their technology and inventions are not to be underestimated, I speak for experience,"

"Your visit to the human facility?" she asked and he looked at her and then nodded, "That was why you went there, to see what they can do," she stated.

"Yes," he replied. His gaze right now was farther than the trees he seemed to be looking at. "We need to unite to fight off the humans, they areore in numbers compared to both of our kinds. Else, history would be repeating itself. Many would die and we would lose to them again and this time, it would be more dier.

"What happened in the past won’t repeat itself," she said with utmost certainty and conviction. She remembered how much pain she felt in the past when she watched the shifters die and she could not save them even when she tried. The scenes from the past nevake very vivid and the pain she felt back then returned to haunt her again but she was quick go push aside. "I won’t repeat itself. History will remain as history."

"What do you plan to do?" he asked. The firmness of her voice and the conviction in it told him she had something planned that no one knows about.
