Chapter 221: 221. No way

Lucy looked at Kora looking offended. Kora nearly laughed because this was the first time that she saw such a look on the face of Lucy. She was always placid but now, she has shown way more than anyone would have thought in one day.

"I would also like to know," Kora said and Lucinda acted like she was about to cry. She looked and stumped her foot on the ground like a child.

"You want to join her to bully me now, Luna, this is not fair at all," she said, picking another fruit from the basket.

"If it is no one, then you won’t mind telling who it is, after all, he is a nobody," Lucy said and Kora nodded.

"Fine, it’s that annoying vampire, what’s his name again? Hmm... right, Azrail, he just won’t leave me alone. He is like a stubborn little mosquito that just won’t stop following me no matter how much I shoo it away, maybe I should crush it, that way I would know it would never bother me again," she said, talking mostly to herself rather than to anyone else.

"Azrail?" Lucy asked. She had been keeping an eye on the campuses and knew that Azrail was no ordinary vampire. He was old and powerful and hated being around women unless they were his meal

"Yes, he is so annoying," Lucubda replied, taking a bite out of the apple in her hand.

Lucy just stared at her sister as she wondered what she must have done to garner the attention of that very vampire. Being someone who does not like the company of the opposite sex, his sudden interest in her sister worries her. What if he had ulterior motives?

"I don’t think he meant any harm to Lucinda," Kora said and the two women looked at her. "He may not like women, but at the end of the day, he is still a man who would settle down with a woman, maybe he was waiting for the right woman who I believe he has found in Lucinda,"

Lucinda’s hand that was taking the apple to her mouth paused and she began coughing, choking on her saliva. "Didn’t say things like that again in the future, Luna, see, I almost cried to death,"

"If he does not have an ulterior motive for chasing you, will you give him a chance?" Lucy asked. As my h as she would advise they don’t have anything going with the vampires, they were not getting younger though they don’t look like it, they still look so young and could easily be seen as women who are in their late teens or early twenties, they knew the truth, they were as old in their thirties and approaching forty. Pushing such matters away won’t be beneficial for them.

"No way," Lucinda said almost immediately. "Why would I be with a vampire when there are other options out there?" She turned to look at Kora who had zoned out from the conversation and gently rubbed on the baby bump, the look in her eyes distant and deep in thought. "You won’t permit that too, right, Luna?" she asked, bringing Kora’s attention back to her.

"That is all in you, Lucinda, I have no right to meddle," She replied. "He may be a vampire but he is still someone who could be a potential man," she said and Lucinda frowned.

"Alright, I have heard you, Luna," she said and picked an apple before standing up. "I should get going now, who knows what that Cillia would be up to while I am gone, I don’t trust her one bit," getting a nod of approval, she left the pack, disappearing from there.

"She nearly emptied the basket," Lucy complained but still proceeded to pick a fruit.

"You seemed to be shipping Lucinda off," Kora said and Lucy smiled.

"She is not getting any younger, so she needs to find someone else who can always be by her side, I know I don’t stand a chance but she does and before anything happens, I want her to be happy with someone who cares for her."

"You are planning to do something that you will regret aren’t you?" Kira asked But she remained silent. "Have you told her what you plan to do?" she asked, her silence was more than enough to answer the question.

"I don’t want her to know about it," Lucy replied. She picked a knife from the table and an apple to peel. "I don’t want her to try to stop me, or have the slightest idea of what I want to do, it would hurt her more if she knew before the time came. The knowledge that she could not stop would make the hurt and pain more severe, I don’t want that. We may be twins, but she will always be my little sister whom I grew up taking care of," she said.

She remembered when they were little, Lucibfa was not always the vibrant woman she is today, her health had many complications that normal treatment could not help and since there was no one to help them out, they had to fight all on their own. Fight to survive, just to see another day. It was one of the reasons why she listed her smile, her reason for being happy was never happy, the one person who she could call family was in constant pain and tears were never far from her.

She had to train and learn many spells that could help her sister because she was still so young, no matter how she did, it always failed to work, it needed the hands of an adult but there was no one whom they could ask for help from. It continued until one day, due to the constant spells performed in the past, it started taking effect and she began healing and regaining herself. Since then, they have fought to keep growing stronger no matter what. Even nature was biased towards the strong ai staying at the top was a must

"I know what you mean," Kora said with a nod. She should know, it was why she hadn’t said anything about her plans to Darren. And now, making sure that Lucy did not die had become something that she had added to her list. She was important and her staying alive would be more beneficial than her death.

"You plan to do something that Alpha does not know don’t you?" Lucy asked, catching on immediately.

Kora was silent before she nodded, "Don’t tell him it anyone else, please," she pleaded and Lucy nodded.
