Lucy and Lucinda looked at the chest wound of Lazarus and then at Kora who was still in Dana’s arms with shocked gazes. It was not a thing of surprise to get hurt in a battle but the thing was that she was able to tell exactly where he was hurt even in her absence. It was not difficult to know that the little girl was a special kind of shifter.

It seems that there were two special people in the Blood moon pack.

"Lazarus, Are you okay?" Dana asked moving closer and stopping in front of Lazarus. She stretched one hand and touched the wound on his chest. "Let’s get this taken care of."

Lazarus nodded his head. ’Take him away and lock him up’. He said to Ezra through the mind link. He and Dana turned to leave when Darren spoke, "What’ ’s her name?" He asked. Lazarus stopped and glared at him with a warning gaze.

"I am Kora," Kora said and smiled at him. She liked him, especially his scent. "And thank you for saving me earlier."

Darren gave a rare but genuine smile, "You are welcome, Kora." He said loving the way her name sounded in his mouth.

Everyone turned to look at him and thought the interaction between the two was weird. Darren rarely smiled so genuinely. He has smiled many times but it was far from genuine. And as for those who knew Kora, they knew that the girl had never said ’thank you’ to anyone before. Not even to Lazarus when he saved her that night.

"Can I stay?" Kora asked Dana, blinking her doll-like eyes. Dana raised a brow and Lazarus squinted his eyes at her. "I want to find Emily, she was with me before the people came I asked her to hide somewhere, so I want to go and find her there." She explained.

Dana nodded but Lazarus didn’t seem to buy it. "Raven will find your friend. It’s not safe for you to be here."

"That is the reason why I should make sure she is alright, as her friend and besides, I don’t trust Raven not even with anything important to me," Kora said and glared at Raven who smirked." "See, he is not even trying to prove me wrong."

"Fine, but he stays with you." Lazarus relented. And Dana placed her down. He took Dana’s hand and left the scene while Ezra dragged the rogue with him following his alpha and Luna.

After Dana and Lazarus had left, Darren asked his people to return to the pack house and wait for him which they did except for his beta and gamma and the two sisters.

Darren walked over to Kora, he stopped right in front of her but did not know why to say, if only she was older...

"Where is your friend hiding?" Raven asked looking bored. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"You can go if you don’t want to be here," Kora said and turned to face Darren. "Will you help me find her?" Raven crowned but Darren smiled and missed his head.

"Let’s go find your friend," Darren said taking her in his. "Which way?"

"Follow me," Kora said.

"Do you two know each other?" Raven asked.

"If you do, then alpha Darren, take her with you."

"I won’t leave even if you throw me out," Kora said as she walked ahead. "Lazarus will kill you." Raven frowned and growled at her but she paid no heed to it. "And Dana will fry you." Darren chuckled at her sense of humour.

’I also want to know, alpha, do you know her?’ Darren heard Mateo’s voice in his head.

’I think she is my mate’. Darren replied. ’I am not so sure yet, my bond to prove it’. He looked at Kora intently and watched her as she led the way.

’If she is then shouldn’t we take her with us?’ Mateo asked.

’Why should we take who with us?’ Levi joined the conversation.

’She is too young and Lazarus seems very protective of her,’ Darren answered and cut the link.

’Dude, what was that about?’ Let’s ask still not satisfied with what he had heard. ’ I didn’t understand what you two were talking about.’

’It’s the girl, Darren thinks she is his mate,’ Mateo answered. Levi’s eyes widened and he looked at Kora a little too intently that making Mateo knock his head lightly.

’If she is his mate, then we should take her,’ Levi said and frowned when he remembered what Darren had said when Mateo said that. ’It’s not like he would make out with her and mark when she is still underaged, ’ he said with a shrug of the shoulder.

’No. It’s not right and I don’t think Lazarus will let us take her without a fight.’ Mateo said.

’So? She is his mate and belongs with him,’ Levi argued.

’The bond isn’t there to prove that, how do you intend to explain? That he thinks she is his mate? Is that all?’ Mateo asked sarcastically.

’Fine, you don’t have to be sarcastic about it. ’ Levi gave up trying to win over what they should not be bothered about when the person who should be not even bothered about it.

"I like your scent!" Kora said out of the blue drawing everyone’s attention to herself. Darren was pulled out of his train of thought and smiled when he heard her. "You smell like chocolate."

"You like chocolate?" Levi butted in earning a glare from Darren and he smirked.

"Yes, I like chocolates," Kora answered innocently. While she was talking, Raven pretended to not have heard a thing she said and just followed her lead.

"Where is your fed hiding?" Raven asked in an annoyed manner.

"It’s not far from here we will be there soon," Kora replied. "And stop being so cranky. Can’t you be nice?"

They walked a little more distance from who they were and she stopped and pointed to a hole in the ground not so far away, "There, she is hiding there." She said turning to look at Raven and pursing her lips. "Will you help me get her out?" She asked now looming at Darren.
