Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 34. mystic wolf
Stella took a deep breath before she began telling the story of the pack’s past. She seems relaxed and at home. They couldn’t rush her sight just stayed and silently waited. The library was of no use and they had run out of options until she showed up and they found new hope.
"The pack was known as the ’Silver Mystery pack’ in the past. It was home to a special group of wolves, these wolves were known as the ’Mystic wolves’." Stella said and paused again letting them grasp what she had just said.
"What do you mean ’Mystic wolves’?" Lazarus asked. The name sounded weird yet so right at the same time in his ears. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"The mystic wolves are of three kinds and each can control an element, most dominant in one at least. There are the red mystic wolves, dominant with the element of fire, the green mystic wolves with the elements of nature, and the baby blue mystic wolves with water as their element of dominance. Each one of them has an elemental triangle on the forehead in their beast form. The elemental marking follows the same other, blue at the top, green to the right and red to the left."
"They are late shifters so don’t be surprised if she does not show any sign of shifting soon. It has always been that way and the cave at the back has always been their home." Stella said and stopped. She waited to hear any questions that they had.
"What happened that they are no longer in existence?" Lazarus asked. "If they had always been here and had all the power you spoke of then they should still be many of them around."
Stella had a sad expression when she heard the question. "They were ambushed by witches." She said as the sadness in her eyes became more vivid. Her answer shocked everyone in the room as they did not expect that answer to come. "Do you know why you hate the witches so much, alpha?" Stella asked. Lazarus didn’t answer but that was enough to tell her what his answer was. "It is your instinct as the alpha of this pack," Stella stated.
"All the alphas before you had the same hatred towards them because of what their ancestors did to the mystic wolf species as it was their duty to protect them." She said and everyone turned to Lazarus with complicated looks in their eyes. "The Mystic wolf was the symbol of this pack the source of the name of the pack so when they no longer existed, the name was changed."
"After the death of the mystic wolves, the alpha of the era was so mad that he led the pack against the spell casters who had invaded the pack and slaughtered all of them letting go of none. It was a holocaust that killed almost every single member of the pack as the witches fought back. In the end, both parties were destroyed as the whole pack was engulfed in flames. There were a few other packs that joined the fight assisting the alpha and his warriors but the witches were many and came prepared."
"Knowing that the werewolves were going to lose, they made sure that witches did not get a chance to leave either and they all died together in flames."
When Stella stopped talking there was silence in the lounge with only the sound of their heartbeat and breathing that could be heard. Stella looked at her alpha and Luna with a smile. She knew that what she had told them would cause some changes to their lives as the pack’s leaders.
"The fight... Was it what brought about the name, Blood moon pack?" Dana asked and Stella nodded.
"Yes, Luna, it is," she said. "The fight took place at night under the full moon."
"Did anyone survive?" Dana asked again.
"Yes," Stella answered. "The children who were escorted by a group of warriors to the neighbouring packs."
"Is that how you know about this?" Raven asked.
"Yes, one of those children at that time was my grandmother," Stella replied and picked up the glass of water on the table and took a sip. "They were the ones who rebuilt the pack and gave it a different name, they destroyed all that will remind them of that ill-fated night. The only thing that they could not destroy was the cave which still stands today."
"So the history we know about the pack fabricated by them?" Ezra asked and popped lazily on the couch.
"Yes, gamma, it was," Stella answered. He sighed and closed his eyes.
"Why did the witches want them, the mystic wolves?" Lazarus asked bringing up the most important thing that they should know.
"Because they needed them." Stella said, "The mystic wolf has spiritual potency beside their elemental ones. That was what they wanted."
"I was right," Dana said garnering everyone’s attention to herself. "I was right that it was Kora whom they were after." She said and Stella nodded.
"It most probably is, Luna."
"The attack a few days ago was predicted by Kora," Lazarus said and took Dana’s hand in his lacing their fingers. "She has foresight unlike others, so tell me, why didn’t the wolves of that time see it coming? Why did they not inform the pack and prepared for the ambush?"
"Only those with dominance in more than one element have that ability, alpha, and back then, they were none," Stella answered.
"You are saying that Kora is most likely to dominate more than one element?" Raven asked with a frown.
"Yes, if not all," Stella said Raven raised a brow and she smiled. "She is only five, and her abilities are already showing themselves, now imagine how she will be when she is older."
"The packs that helped in the past, which were there? Lazarus asked what was on his mind.
"There was the Black storm pack, the Nightwalker pack and the Black Fur pack," Stella said and Lazarus nodded his head. " Can I see her? The girl? "
"I will call her," Dana said and left the four of them to call Kora. Dana returned shortly with Kora which surprise the others. She would not come out so easily if she did not want to at least not without asking tons of questions.
"Are you Emily’s grandma?" Kora asked as soon she came in and saw the old woman sitting opposite Lazarus. She only came down because Dana told her that Emily’s grandma was here and was ted to see Emily’s friend because Emily has told her a lot about her
"Yes, I am. How are you?" Stella said smiling as she looked at the girl be her.
"I am fine," Kora said and went to sit next to Stella. "Did Emily come with you?"
"No, child, she did not come with me," Stella answered and caressed Kora’s cheek tenderly.
"Oh," Kora said with a sad expression. "You are beautiful, you look like Emily," Kora said and Stella smiled at her. Raven frowned because this was probably the first time Kora had complimented someone...
"She looks like me because I am her grandmother," Stella said. "I will leave now, she said looking at the people in the room and then looking at Kora, "I will tell Emily that you asked about her, she will return to the park house tomorrow with her mother, okay?"
Kora nodded and stood up to lead the woman to the door. ’Alpha...’ Stella’s voice echoed in Lazarus’ head. ’Don’t tell her about what she is, let her grow into it’. She said while she walked away led by Kora. Lazarus nodded without asking any further questions.
