Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System
Chapter 242: The Talents
From Basic to Superior, the changes of the packs weren’t just the quality of the content, it was also the quantity.
[ Food Gift Pack (Basic)
Contents: canned goods, instant noodles, granola bars, tea bags, and mayonnaise. ]
[ Food Gift Pack (Enhanced)
Contents: vacuum‑sealed rations, canned goods, dried fruits and nuts, instant soup packs, coffee sachets, and portable cooking stove with fuel canisters. ]
[ Food Gift Pack (Superior)
Contents: dehydrated meal packs, protein concentrate packs, hydroponic starter kit, fruit juice packs, portable cooking stove with extra fuel canisters. ]
While the Basic ones could feed a person for about two weeks, the Enhanced packs could feed you for a month.
However, for the Superior Gift Pack, the meal packs alone could feed someone for a month. With the hydroponic kit and the juice packs, it would increase even more.
Kai stood in the storage room, and after feeling satisfied, he looked behind him.
The survivors marvel at the piles of food and water packs.
Steven, Vera, and Juno lingered close, clearly waiting for his next words.
At this time, Kai spoke...
"You’ve given me Survivor Medals and Soul Booster Potions. That’s a good start. But I don’t want this to be a one‑time deal. I want consistency. If you can keep producing potions, I’ll make sure you never worry about food or water again."
Vera’s eyes widened. "You mean... a steady exchange? So... we brew potions, and you’ll keep supplying us?"
Kai nodded firmly. "Exactly. But if possible, I want to have something more than trade. I want loyalty... I want you in my Guild."
As soon as he said this, the three froze for a moment, then exchanged glances.
They had already introduced themselves and knew that he was Kai, the Rank 1 Survivor in the leaderboard.
Juno spoke first. "Guild... You mean... the Codebreakers? We’ve seen the name in the leaderboard. You’re the leader, right?"
Kai chuckled and nodded. "Yes. Codebreakers. If you join, you’ll have protection, resources, and a future. So... How many of you here are Foreign Survivors?"
With this question, they immediately recalled that only the Foreign Survivors could actually join a guild.
Steven counted in his mind before he answered. "Only six of us are left... The rest are locals who were already here before the machines rose."
Kai nodded slowly. "Six, huh... Alright... If you join, you’ll be compensated properly for the potions you’re making. I just want a steady supply of Soul Boosters, or if you can make something even better, then that’s perfect."
Vera clutched her pouch nervously. "We can manage... maybe fifteen potions a week, if the blue soul grass keeps growing. It takes time to refine them."
Kai considered this, then spoke decisively. "I can have ten per week... You can save the rest for yourself. Still, I’ll keep supplying food in exchange. If you can increase production later, even better."
Steven’s eyes lit up. "That’s... manageable. And if we’re in your Guild, we won’t have to worry about starving anymore."
Juno added quickly, "We’ll do it. We’ll make as many potions as we can. Just promise us the children won’t go hungry again."
Kai’s expression softened slightly. "As long as you keep your end of the deal, I’ll keep mine. Food will never be a problem for you again."
The three bowed immediately... "We’ll join Codebreakers," Steven declared. "From now on, we’ll brew potions for you. Every week, without fail."
Kai extended his hand, and Steven clasped it firmly. Vera and Juno followed suit...
As their hands met, Kai’s eyes lingered briefly on Vera.
Her short red hair framed her face, and even if she still looked really weak, her features carried a striking beauty.
Anyway, she was the only woman among the Foreign Survivors here, so Kai noted that her presence.
’She’ll stand out in the Guild,’ Kai thought as he had a hard time turning his attention away.
’Not just for her skills, but for her presence.’
In any case, Juno looked young... too young. He seemed to be a teenager, someone who had just graduated from high school.
Nonetheless, the rest of the Foreign Survivors were men.
They lacked Vera’s striking appearance or Juno’s youthful spark, but their willingness to pledge themselves spoke volumes.
Kai finally asked, "How many survivors are here in total?"
Steven answered quickly. "Thirty‑two. That includes the six of us who are Foreign Survivors."
Kai nodded. "Then only the six of you can join Codebreakers..."
At that moment, the system notifications appeared before Kai’s eyes:
[ Invitation Sent: Steven ]
[ Invitation Sent: Vera ]
[ Invitation Sent: Juno ]
[ Invitation Sent... ]
...
Soon, the confirmations followed:
[ Steven has joined Codebreakers Guild. ]
[ Vera has joined Codebreakers Guild. ]
[ Juno has joined Codebreakers Guild. ]
[ ... has joined Codebreakers Guild. ]
[ Guild Mission Progress Updated: Survivor Integration II ]
[ Current Members: 21 / 30 ]
As soon as the confirmation was made and they saw the new guild feature, they finally celebrated!
"Codebreakers... Awesome!"
"We did it! We’re going to work hard, Sir Kai!"
Soon, the cheers slowly faded as Kai raised his hand, signaling for silence. His eyes swept over the new members...
"Now that you’re part of Codebreakers," Kai said firmly, "there’s no need for secrets. I need to know your talents. If you’re going to contribute to the Guild, I want to understand what each of you can do."
Steven straightened...
"I’ll start. My talent is Iron Will Combatant. It’s a Superior Grade combat talent. When I fight, my endurance and resistance to pain increase drastically. Even if I’m wounded, I can keep going. It doesn’t make me stronger in terms of raw power, but it lets me fight longer than most."
Kai nodded as he turned his gaze to Vera.
She hesitated for a moment, clutching her pouch, before speaking softly. "My talent is Alchemist. Unfortunately, it’s only a Rare Grade alchemy talent. It’s the reason we’ve been able to make Soul Booster Potions. I can refine herbs and plants into usable tonics. The blue soul grass here responds especially well to my ability. Without me, those potions wouldn’t exist."
’An alchemist... that’s rare among survivors...’ Kai mused as he gave a faint smile. "Even if it’s Rare, it’s still amazing."
As he thought that it was the most amazing Talent among the group, Juno finally spoke.
"I have Master-Grade Telekinetic Talent."
