Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill
Chapter 275: The Mastermind Behind the Scenes
Sean disappeared into the teleportation light.
Li Wei breathed a sigh of relief.
In truth, he had barely used any Mana.
The rain of fire that filled the sky looked terrifying.
But it had only blasted away the patch of skeletons around Sean.
There were still tens of thousands of Skeleton Monsters outside; a mere rain of fire couldn’t have possibly held them all back.
He had mainly relied on the Golden Bone Ring to command the surrounding Undead.
Otherwise, even Li Wei wouldn’t have been able to stop the endless swarm of Undead.
Li Wei looked at the dead Bone Demon with a peculiar expression.
Logically speaking, a Tier Six Bone Demon shouldn’t have appeared in a Red Second Level area.
A Tier Six Bone Demon, of all things.
Nor should groups of Tier Four Death Knights, Tier Four Bronze Skulls, and Tier Four Abominations have appeared.
’What went wrong?’
Li Wei gazed into the distance.
He took out his Teleportation Token, preparing to leave.
Suddenly, the Golden Bone Ring vibrated. A call echoed from the distant Skeleton Sea.
A strange power compelled him, drawing him toward the source of the call.
Li Wei glanced at his left hand. The call was coming from the Golden Bone Ring.
He turned and started to walk away, unwilling to answer the summons.
Just then, a violent Magic Fluctuation erupted from the nearby Skeleton Sea.
With a deafening BOOM, a massive explosion occurred.
Li Wei stopped in his tracks and looked over.
He was puzzled.
’Everyone else went back. Why is someone still here?’
Li Wei felt a powerful wave of Magic Fluctuation wash over him.
Immediately after, he saw two figures shoot up from the Skeleton Sea and race into the distance.
Seeing the two, Li Wei instinctively felt that something was off.
They seemed to be deliberately avoiding him.
At that thought, Li Wei pursued them without a second’s hesitation.
’I have to figure out what’s going on.’
Li Wei didn’t want anyone targeting him from the shadows.
There was no sense in guarding against a thief for a thousand days.
Problems had to be dealt with the moment they arose.
Casting Fire Escape, Li Wei transformed into a streak of flame and shot into the distance, quickly closing in on the two fleeing figures.
As he got closer, Li Wei could see the Magic Robes they were wearing.
They were Mages from the Elemental Tower.
One of them heard the rushing wind from behind and turned to see Li Wei rapidly approaching.
Horrified, he immediately started Casting to attack Li Wei.
He intended to block Li Wei’s pursuit.
Fire Wall Skill!
A wall of fire materialized in mid-air, blocking Li Wei’s path.
Without the slightest hesitation, Li Wei charged straight into the fire wall.
The instant he entered the wall, his entire body underwent Elementalization, allowing him to pass straight through without taking any damage.
After exiting the fire wall, Li Wei quickly returned to his normal form.
The transformation was so fast, and with his body already wreathed in flames...
...the two of them didn’t see a thing.
The man was stunned to see Li Wei pass directly through the fire wall, completely unscathed.
In the blink of an eye, Li Wei caught up to them.
He saw they were both wearing Magic Masks to hide their true identities.
Li Wei’s gaze hardened as he demanded, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
"Mind your own business!"
one of them shot back.
In response, Li Wei simply raised a hand and began Casting.
Tier Two Spell! Fire Resistance Ring!
Instant Casting.
BAM! BAM!
The two figures were blasted by the force of the Fire Resistance Ring and sent plummeting toward the ground.
Under attack, they struggled to stay airborne, unable to resist the force.
They could only allow themselves to plummet toward the ground.
On the ground, countless Skeleton Monsters raised their weapons to greet the falling pair.
"Rock Pillar!"
A Magic Fluctuation emanated from one of them.
The next second, the ground bulged upward.
A thick Rock Pillar shot up, tossing aside more than a dozen Skeleton Monsters as it rose.
THUD! THUD!
The two landed on top of the Rock Pillar.
SCRABBLE, SCRABBLE, SCRABBLE!
Below the Rock Pillar, countless Skeleton Monsters swarmed, clambering over one another to get to the top.
Li Wei hovered in mid-air, looking down at the pair.
One was an Earth Mage, and the other a Fire Element Mage.
’Why were these two here?’
’Their Power was not weak; they were at least Tier Four Mages.’
The Fire Element Mage stared at Li Wei with hostile eyes.
"Why did you help that half-breed? He has filthy blood in his veins and doesn’t deserve to live in this world!"
Li Wei’s brow furrowed at his words.
He looked at the Fire Element Mage and asked, "So you were the ones who lured the Bone Demon here?"
The two didn’t answer his question.
The atmosphere was tense, the two sides locked in a standoff.
All that could be heard was the SCRABBLING of the Skeleton Monsters climbing the Rock Pillar and the clatter of their bones.
Li Wei asked again, "Why are you trying to kill Sean?"
"Kill him? No, we’re doing the world a favor by eliminating a scourge."
"A half-breed like him with such a filthy bloodline shouldn’t be allowed to live."
The Fire Element Mage’s tone was extremely agitated.
Li Wei didn’t understand why he kept harping on Sean’s bloodline.
The Flame Demon bloodline came from Purgatory.
But that didn’t mean a person with Flame Demon blood was automatically evil.
At least in Li Wei’s eyes, Sean was a decent person.
"If you leave now, it’s not too late. I won’t hold it against you for ruining my plan."
"And forget what you saw today,"
the Fire Element Mage said.
Li Wei chuckled. "Heh, what gives you the confidence to say something like that?"
The Fire Element Mage stared at Li Wei. "You’re courting death, so don’t blame me for what happens next!"
The moment his voice fell,
Li Wei felt an intense Magic Fluctuation from above.
He looked up.
A burning meteor was plummeting toward him at high speed.
By the time Li Wei spotted the meteor, it was already upon him.
The meteor was falling incredibly fast—dozens, even a hundred times faster than his own flight speed.
He had no time to dodge.
BAM! BOOM!
The meteor smashed Li Wei into the ground.
The Invisible Armor on Li Wei’s body instantly shattered.
A large crater was blasted into the ground, sending hundreds of skeletons flying and scattering shattered bones in every direction.
The Fire Element Mage gazed at the crater and sneered.
"Hmph! A waste of one of my Magic Scrolls."
"Serves him right!"
The Earth Mage said, "Let’s go. The commotion from this fight was too big. It’ll attract more Undead."
Wind Elf Wings materialized on their backs, and they flew toward the sky.
SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!
A volley of Bone Arrows shot toward the pair.
The two hastily cast spells to block the incoming Bone Arrows.
They quickly flew higher, trying to get out of range of the Skeleton Archers.
CAW! CAW! CAW!
A flock of Skeleton Birds descended upon them like a dark cloud, surrounding and relentlessly attacking them.
PING! PING! PING!
The Skeleton Birds’ talons and beaks made ringing sounds as they struck the pair’s Magic Shields.
Under the assault of so many Skeleton Birds, their Magic Shields rapidly weakened.
They were baffled. Why had so many Skeleton Birds appeared out of nowhere?
"Dammit, there are too many Skeleton Birds! We have to shake them off before we can use the Teleportation Token."
Fire Resistance Ring!
A ball of intense flame exploded amidst the flock, bathing the entire dark cloud of birds in red light.
The pair broke out of the flock with all their might...
...only to find an enormous dragon head appearing before them.
"Fire Dragon Skill!"
The thought flashed through the Fire Element Mage’s mind.
However, a Tier Four Fire Dragon Skill could only create a Fire Dragon Head four or five meters in size.
The Fire Dragon’s head before them was immense, far exceeding the scope of a Tier Four Spell.
The Fire Dragon lunged forward, devouring the two figures in a single bite.
It swallowed hundreds of the surrounding Skeleton Birds along with them.
