I Regressed With a 10,000x God-Tier Multiplier
Chapter 152: Forging the Heaven-Piercer, Emperor’s Vanguard**
The Aether-Forge was a chaotic disaster of contrasting magic.
Sparks rained down from the massive robotic assembly arms. The heavy rhythmic pounding of hammers competed with the screech of pressurized magical steam.
The air smelled strongly of hot iron, ozone, and old blood.
Dwarf King Thrain and Princess Vexia were currently screaming at each other!
"You cannot run liquid blood magic directly through the Star-Metal coolant valves, you oversized bat!" Thrain roared.
The dwarf slammed a massive wrench onto the metal console. His beard was singed and his soot-covered face was purple with rage. "It coagulates! You’ll clog the intake manifolds and blow the entire reactor to the Abyss!"
"It only coagulates because your archaic prehistoric plumbing doesn’t maintain proper thermal pressure, you stunted mole!" Vexia shrieked back.
The Sanguine Princess was hovering three feet off the metal catwalk. Her usually immaculate red silk dress was stained with grease and soot. She pointed a pale furious finger at the dwarf.
"My Sanguine Grid is flawless! If you just adjusted the manifold aperture by two micrometers, the blood would cycle the engine perfectly!"
Lucifer walked down the metal stairs with his heavy iron boots clanking loudly against the grating.
"I didn’t come down here to mediate a plumbing dispute," Lucifer stated coldly.
Thrain and Vexia instantly stopped yelling. They snapped to attention and remembered exactly who owned the forge they were arguing in.
"Grand Marshal," Thrain coughed. He hastily tossed the wrench aside and wiped his greasy hands on his leather apron. "Apologies. The Sanguine magic is just... temperamental."
"I am a delicate artist working with a brute," Vexia huffed and crossed her arms defensively. But she quickly dropped to the ground and folded her red wings. "We have the prototype you asked for, Warlord."
Lucifer stepped up to the main workstation.
Sitting on the heavy iron table was a massive terrifying piece of machinery. It was roughly the size of a carriage, composed of jagged pitch-black Star-Metal layered over thick pulsing veins of hardened blood-glass. It hummed with a violent unstable frequency.
[System: Item Inspected.]
[Name: Aether-Nova Engine (Prototype)]
[Tier: Legendary Modular Upgrade]
[Description: A dimensional thruster designed to bypass cosmic barriers. Creates a localized Void-shield to protect against zero-gravity decompression.]
"It’s a bolt-on upgrade for the Void-Core Reactor," Thrain explained proudly and patted the dark metal casing.
"Vexia wove the blood-glass to act as a magical shock absorber. When we trigger this engine, it won’t just push the city up. It will wrap Zephyria in an aerodynamic Void-shield designed to punch through dimensional friction like a spearhead."
"But the output is capped," Vexia warned and pointed to a glowing red gauge on the side of the engine. "We don’t have enough pure materials to scale it up for a five-mile-wide city.
The prototype works, but if we hook it to the main grid right now, it will only shield the central keep. The outer courtyards will be exposed to the vacuum."
Lucifer looked at the bulky monstrosity of blood and metal.
"It doesn’t need to scale," Lucifer said smoothly.
He did not ask them to rebuild it. He raised his right hand. The Gauntlet of the Void King crackled with fierce pitch-black lightning.
Lucifer placed his armored palm flat against the jagged Star-Metal casing of the prototype engine.
"System," Lucifer commanded. The void in his eyes spun wildly. "Target: Aether-Nova Engine. Apply the Apex Multiplier. Ten thousand times."
[Divine Talent: Apex Multiplier Activated!]
[Applying 10,000x multiplier to Engine Output and Shield Radius...]
[Warning: Structural Metamorphosis Imminent.]
Lucifer channeled a massive surge of his Archmage-level mana directly into the machine!
The prototype did not explode. It evolved!
The jagged Star-Metal smoothed out instantly and transformed into sleek flawless iridescent dark matter.
The brittle blood-glass thickened and turned into brilliant glowing crimson power conduits that locked perfectly into the metal frame.
The entire engine expanded, fused itself directly into the bedrock floor of the forge, and violently hooked its own massive cables into the primary Void-Core Reactor.
BOOM!
The entire floating city of Zephyria shuddered violently.
Outside, above the grand courtyards, the standard iridescent pearl-like planetary shield suddenly vanished.
The thirteen million mortal soldiers screamed in panic, thinking the barrier had failed. But a fraction of a second later, a new shield snapped into place.
It was not a soft glowing dome. It was a vicious streamlined pitch-black energy field shaped like the tip of a spear.
It pulsed with faint crimson veins and reflected the starlight with terrifying predatory intensity.
It did not look like a defensive wall. It looked like a battering ram aimed at the heavens.
[System: Fortress Upgrade Complete.]
[Status: Aether-Nova Engine Online. Dimensional Void-Shield Active.]
Down in the forge, Thrain stared at the perfectly integrated massive dark-matter engine. He slowly took off his thick leather goggles.
"You just broke the laws of engineering," the dwarf whispered in pure awe.
"I optimized them," Lucifer corrected smoothly.
He turned away from the engine. The city was ready.
"Vexia, Thrain," Lucifer ordered. "Man the consoles. When I give the signal, you push that engine to absolute maximum thrust. We are breaking the atmosphere."
Lucifer activated Void Step.
He materialized instantly on the high balcony of the central keep, overlooking the massive sprawling main courtyard of Zephyria.
The new pitch-black Void-shield cast a sleek terrifying shadow over the army.
The courtyard was fully mobilized.
The thousand golden Paladin-Mechs stood in perfect rigid formation with their twenty-foot broadswords resting on their shoulders.
The five thousand newly evolved Void-Breaker Dragoons were lined up at the front. The Mythic mechanical centaurs stood firmly on their dark-matter hooves and their massive Star-Metal wings flared open.
Their purple visors burned brightly in the gloom.
Above them, clinging to the battlements and hovering in the airspace beneath the new shield, were the fifty thousand Glacial Wyrms.
The massive white dragons hissed and growled and were eager for violence.
Lucifer walked to the edge of the balcony.
He did not use a magical projection this time. He just spoke and let his Warlord aura carry the absolute weight of his voice to every single soldier in the city.
"Look at your armor," Lucifer commanded.
The thirteen million mortals, the Rangers, the Elves, and the mercenaries looked down at their gear. It was no longer battered leather or rusted iron. It was pristine. It glowed with the ambient buffs of the Emperor.
"You came here as refugees," Lucifer’s voice thundered over the courtyard. "You ran from the ash. You ran from the demons. You ran because the Gods you prayed to left you to die in the dirt."
He drew his ruby-red Blade of Ruin. The sentient sword pulsed violently and was hungry for divine blood!
"We are not running anymore," Lucifer roared. "We are not refugees hiding in a flying rock. We are the Emperor’s Vanguard."
He pointed his glowing red blade straight up at the pitch-black sky.
"The Gods think they can lock their golden gates and ignore us," Lucifer declared and a cold terrifying smile broke across his face.
"We are going to kick the gates down. We are going to take the Silver Citadel. And we are going to show the Heavens exactly what happens when you leave humanity to burn."
The response was not a cheer. It was a unified apocalyptic war cry.
Thirteen million swords struck thirteen million shields. The Paladin-Mechs fired their aether-cannons harmlessly into the air in a blinding salute. Fifty thousand dragons roared and shook the foundations of the city.
Lucifer tapped his comms rune.
"Engage engines," Lucifer ordered softly.
Deep below, the Aether-Nova Engine screamed to life! Zephyria surged upward and rocketed toward the stars.
The invasion of Heaven had begun.
