Chapter 59: No Secrets To Hide

Felix took half an hour to clean himself thoroughly. He usually only take five minutes to take a shower and changed his clothes, but he had to rub his skin many times to the point they were about to peel off just to get rid of the repulsive stench.

He changed his clothes to a comfortable one, not wearing a uniform since he would not be practicing with his sword techniques throughout the night.

After a while, he hastily headed back to his usual spot, afraid Krisha might have grown impatient.

However, he was filled with relief after seeing her peaceful countenance.

As soon as he arrived, he sat beside her and asked, "How are you doing?"

Krisha wasn’t as haggard as before—her hair was taken care of. It was a huge relief for Felix that Krisha took a breath after exhausting herself from training.

Krisha replied, "I’m doing fine, proceeding at my own pace."

"That’s good to know."

Then, silence ensued. It was quite an awkward one since they were alone during the night.

In the end, Felix took the chance to initiate the conversation.

"Do you want to know why Moon evolved?"

"As long as you’re comfortable with it."

Felix smiled and nodded. "It’s fine. It’s not something I’ll hide, especially from you anyway. The reason why she evolved and her potential reach a higher level simply because after we’ve completed our soul contract.

That’s just it. Ever since then, she was in slumber."

Krisha nodded. She did not need to ask how Felix knew Moon evolved after she simply fell into slumber. The moment Moon established a soul contract with Felix, their connection reached the level of what the beast tamers’ called "soul connection."

It wasn’t difficult for Felix to understand that Moon’s state, falling into slumber, was the result of her evolution.

Felix asked, "What do you wish to know more?"

Krisha fell into silent. She was quiet for a while until she shook her head and replied, "I don’t need to know about your secrets, really. That’s on you. What’s important is that I know how hard working you are."

Felix was stunned. He did not expect the words to hear from Krisha.

He stared at her face for a while, lost in her gorgeous face, until he realized he had been like that for minutes as he quickly distracted himself.

He gently grabbed Moon and Rain from Krisha to place them on his knees.

He tilted his head upward to glance at the moon, permeating moonlight on them and their surroundings.

He beamed a smile and said, "The moon is pretty, isn’t it?"

Krisha tilted her head upward and gazed at the moon.

She suddenly frowned. "I seem to hear that phrase in the old times... I forgot about the actual meaning of that."

Felix was taken aback. He gazed at her with dumbfounded expression.

He replied, "I mean it literally. There’s no actual or hidden meaning from it."

"I see." Krisha nodded, gazing at the Moon, dazed by its beauty.

Felix stared at her for sometime and he had to admit...

That she was more pretty than any other moon.

...

For the next few hours, Felix and Krisha chatted for a while. It was a huge relief for Felix that Krisha wasn’t interested in practicing sword techniques at the moment.

Though, Felix was quite worried after hearing that Krisha was suffering from extreme muscle soreness, causing her to take a rest, instead.

Krisha took the chance to inquire about the problems she faced while learning the sword art provided by Felix and she accepted all Felix’s guidance without slight grievance.

Felix, after having a breakthrough to his meditation, also guided Krisha the proper way of meditating, considering that she wasn’t only meditating for PengPeng, but also her sword art.

Krisha didn’t complain at all and followed Felix’s instructions without problems. After a while of meditation, she even had to leave just to grab PengPeng from his beast quarters and continue the meditation with him.

They remained like that for a while until an hour passed midnight.

Krisha asked, "You aren’t planning to go back to sleep?"

Felix shook his head with a smile. "Moon’s bloodline is related to lunar energy. That’s why I name her Moon. During her evolution, it’s crucial that she must remain bask by the moonlight until dawn. I’m planning to accompany her by then."

Krisha furrowed her eyebrows. "You aren’t doing anything, though. I’m quite surprised, really."

Felix smiled at her quite enigmatically. "I am and have been meditating."

Krisha frowned even more. She was about to ask what did he mean when her eyes widened.

She stuttered. "Y-You... You mean your circulating your energy without manually controlling them."

Felix smiled and nodded. "Yes, but I observed the circulation from time to time, in every ten minutes. But that doesn’t mean I have to shut down my senses to be careful on my surroundings."

Krisha was flabbergasted. She clearly did not expect for Felix to develop an advanced meditation technique.

She asked, "How long does it take for you to reach the Commander rank?"

"Probably two weeks."

Krisha inhaled deeply.

She sighed. "You know, too much potential might be harmful for you. We have to inform father about this, so he can develop some measures to protect you."

Felix gazed at her in silence and suddenly chuckled.

Krisha frowned. She asked, "What?"

Felix shook his head. "Nothing. I just find it funny why you worries about me more than I worry about myself."

Krisha rolled her eyes. "You’re too careless, aren’t you? I just don’t want you to experience what I had."

Felix was quite surprised. His face turned serious.

Krisha rolled her eyes again after seeing him changed his expression abruptly.

Krisha shrugged. "Well, I was like you, rich, my family is complete, and I had everything. However, ever since I lost my mother, I’ve realized that..."

She lowered her head and took her a while to continue, "Just because you had it for a moment doesn’t mean it would last with you forever.

It made me felt like it was just an illusion. That’s why every time I got happy, I couldn’t savor it, knowing that it won’t last long."
