Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 665 - 664: No Longer Willing to Be Together
For a moment, The Dowager Kane couldn’t think of a way out.
"Mom, even if Wayne goes to prison, it won’t be for many years. Why don’t we...!"
June Kane suggested. At this point, Wayne Jennings should be sacrificed to preserve The Ford Family.
"Wayne is the root of The Ford Family."
The Dowager Kane raised her voice, lifting her head to scold discontentedly, "It’s because you’re incompetent, unable to secure Simon’s heart, that The Ford Family is in this predicament today!"
"If The Ford Family falls, you won’t escape responsibility!"
"Useless! You’ve been dealing with that bitch for so many years, yet you still allowed her to return to the Imperial Capital!"
Fuming, The Dowager Kane harshly scolded June Kane.
Back then, when June was in trouble, it was her intention to send people abroad, to save The Ford Family from embarrassment.
The old master refused, and after conspiring with June, they released Claire Sullivan, letting Simon support The Ford Family.
"No need to worry so much!" The Dowager Kane relaxed her body, looking down at the agreement on the table, her smile was chilling, "It’s not so hard to reopen old accounts!"
"If Claire Sullivan dares to return to the Imperial Capital, we’ll settle what was done to you back then!"
June Kane fully understood what The Dowager Kane meant.
In the matter of Wayne Jennings, the old lady had compromised.
The compromise meant she was ready to bring up old issues and tear away the cover Simon had created for Claire Sullivan.
The result of tearing it away would also bring up June’s disgraceful past.
"Mom!"
June’s face turned pale, her voice trembled slightly as she called out, wanting to say something, but as she looked into The Dowager Kane’s cold eyes, she knew there was no point.
In The Dowager Kane’s heart, there was only The Ford Family and Wayne Jennings!
Simon Sterling and Wyatt Sterling left the company together. Simon didn’t want to go home and planned to stay temporarily at Wyatt’s place.
Wyatt’s house was a gift from Simon for his twentieth birthday.
"Dad, are you planning not to divorce?"
On the way, Wyatt asked.
Simon, who was resting with his eyes closed, opened them and looked at Wyatt, who was driving, and asked back, "What do you think?"
Wyatt’s opinion wouldn’t affect his decision, but Simon still wanted to hear it.
"I support your decision."
Wyatt said calmly.
When parents divorce, the son should feel upset and object to it.
Oddly enough, Wyatt felt no disapproval; instead, he felt divorce was the right decision.
"You support it?"
Simon asked again.
"Yes!"
"Why?"
"She," Simon didn’t say explicitly, but they both knew he meant June Kane.
"Dad!"
Wyatt suddenly called out and then fell silent for a long time.
The outside sky had already turned dark, and the streetlights illuminated the surroundings. Wyatt gripped the steering wheel, staring at the road ahead.
After passing a traffic light, he spoke, "I don’t like her!"
He didn’t like June Kane.
It was truly strange and indeed rebellious.
"I’m sorry!"
Wyatt said quietly, apologetically, "She doesn’t like me either."
In the past, he didn’t have such a strong feeling.
Mostly, he thought June favored Felicity Sterling more and figured since he was a boy, her education had to be more stringent.
Since moving to Solaria, or maybe since Serena Sullivan came to the Imperial Capital, he felt that June actually disliked him.
"I know this isn’t right of me."
Wyatt said apologetically, realizing there’s no son who dislikes his own mother!
"But..."
It was undeniably true, June didn’t like him, and in her eyes, he was unnecessary!
