Chapter 180: Ethan’s Unlikely Heroism

Lily glanced at Ethan, who was still sitting in his seat. "Why aren’t you going?"

"Why should I go?"

"He’s only five. You’re going to let him go to the bathroom alone?" Lily frowned.

"He’s five already! Why can’t he go by himself?" Ethan responded, confused. At five, a kid should be able to handle going to the bathroom independently, correct?

"You still need to keep an eye on him. If you’re not going, I will." Lily’s tone was cold as she stood up from the table.

Ethan immediately pushed her back into her seat, snapping, "Do you want to enter the men’s bathroom?! Stay here! I’ll be back!"

Damn it.

Why on earth was he stuck taking a five-year-old to KFC?

And now he had to take a five-year-old to the bathroom? What kind of nonsense was this?

"Make sure to oversee him," Lily called out after him, watching as Ethan hurried after Little Prince. One tall and one small figure, walking together... they did look a bit like father and son.

Lily lowered her gaze, looking at the photo in her hand—the "happy family" picture. A smile tugged at the corners of her lips. What kind of father was as moody as Ethan?

Suddenly, a commotion broke out inside the KFC, with people rushing toward the bathroom.

What’s going on?

Feeling uneasy, Lily put the photo away and looked toward the bathroom. She heard someone say, "Go check it out—two kids are fighting by the bathroom."

Kids? The bathroom?

Could something have happened to Little Prince?

As the minutes passed and Ethan and Little Prince didn’t return, Lily felt dread. Anxious, she stood up from the table and hurried toward the bathroom, now surrounded by a crowd.

Lily hesitated to push through the crowd, remembering she was pregnant and needed to be careful.

She glanced around and spotted a nearby step, climbing onto it to get a better view.

From her vantage point, she saw that a small space had cleared in front of the bathroom.

Little Prince stood there, looking about to cry, nervously twisting his hands together.

In front of him, a large, chubby boy, at least twice Little Prince’s size, was standing arrogantly. "Hey, apologize! You pushed me, and you’re not even saying sorry? Idiot! Apologize!"

"Yeah, how rude! A child bumps into someone and doesn’t even apologize. Look at my son—his arm hurts!" A woman, standing beside the chubby boy, scolded, clearly not planning to let the matter go quickly.

Ethan stood behind Little Prince, coldly observing the situation, his eyes growing darker by the second.

"Hurry up and apologize!" The woman pointed her thick finger at Little Prince, her voice sharp. "Where are your manners? Didn’t your parents teach you anything? If you don’t apologize, I’ll call the police!"

"Waaah..." Little Prince, overwhelmed with injustice, burst into tears.

Little Prince pushed someone?

How could such a skinny kid push a boy twice his size?

Lily frowned, her gaze shifting to Ethan, who was still doing nothing. Wasn’t he going to help?

Just as Lily was about to push through the crowd, she heard Ethan shout at Little Prince, "What are you crying for? All you do is cry when something happens. Did you push him or not? Speak up!"

This man... How could he still be so harsh with Little Prince? Couldn’t he see the child was terrified?

"Your son pushed my son!" the woman shouted, assuming Ethan was Little Prince’s father. Seeing that Ethan wasn’t defending him, she felt even more justified. "Tell your son to apologize, or I’ll take him to the police! My son needs a medical exam!"

Ethan ignored the woman, glaring down at Little Prince and speaking harshly. "Answer me! Are you mute? Did you push him or not?"

Lily tried to make her way through the crowd, but then she heard Little Prince wail, "No, no... He pushed me! I-I was washing my hands, and he ran over and shoved me, trying to take my spot... I even fell to the ground."

Ethan had seen the whole thing himself but was frustrated that Little Prince hadn’t spoken up earlier. That’s why he had scolded him.

The moment Little Prince explained what had happened, Ethan’s anger flared.

"Did you hear that? Apologize!" Ethan growled, turning his glare on the chubby boy and his mother.

Lily stopped trying to push forward, stunned by the sudden turn of events. Ethan...

"Why should we apologize?" The chubby boy’s mother was intimidated by Ethan’s imposing presence but still tried to put up a brave front.

"Are you deaf? He said your son pushed him!" Ethan’s voice was cold and menacing as he gritted his teeth. "Apologize!"

"You believe everything your son says? It was your son who—"

"I trust him more than I trust you, you hag!"

"Who are you calling a hag?!" Embarrassed and angry, the woman’s face turned bright red.

"Apologize!" Ethan pulled Little Prince behind him and glared at the mother and son. "Say sorry!"

"Y-you... you’re crazy!" The woman, clearly frightened, took a step back. Seeing the situation wasn’t in her favor, she grabbed her son’s hand and tried to leave.

Ethan’s eyes narrowed, and he stepped forward, grabbing the chubby boy by the arm and pulling him back. "Trying to leave without apologizing? Do I need to teach you what manners are?"

With that, Ethan raised his fist threateningly, his expression fierce.

The chubby boy, terrified, burst into tears, wailing, "I-I’m sorry! Waaah... I’m sorry!"

Only then did Ethan release him, feeling like he had been doing nothing but foolish things all day—he was even scaring a kid with his fists.

The chubby boy’s mother quickly hurried away with her son.

The crowd that had gathered began to disperse.

Ethan turned and locked eyes with Lily, silently watching everything. Their gazes met, and the air seemed to crackle with electricity.

Lily quietly observed Ethan’s somewhat devilish face. Perhaps that same devilish charm gave him such a unique sense of security.

Watching Ethan stand up for Little Prince, Lily felt, for the first time, that a little toughness wasn’t always insufficient—just a little bit...

He was the type of man who could protect those under his wing.

With someone like him, those he cared about would never fear being bullied because he would always be the one charging forward...

"What are you looking at? Falling in love with me?" Ethan sneered, though there was an underlying hint of embarrassment.

Why did he only have to babysit a five-year-old at KFC to deal with this nonsense?

He, Ethan Blackwood, had to threaten another kid with a punch. What was the world coming to?

Falling in love, huh?

Could she stop holding back her feelings for him, even a little?

Lily continued to gaze at him, and suddenly, a soft smile appeared on her lips, her eyes crinkling with warmth. She looked especially radiant, and her smile was heart-stirring.

Ethan, who was used to seeing Lily’s cold expression, was momentarily stunned. He had no idea how to react to her sudden smile.

They stood there in silence, just looking at each other.

"Uncle Ethan, you’re amazing!"

Little Prince’s voice suddenly broke the highly charged atmosphere.

Lily looked down and saw the boy, his face still streaked with tears, giving Ethan two big thumbs up, beaming with admiration. "Uncle Ethan is the best! You scared away the bad guys! You’re awesome, awesome!"

Kids were easy to please.

Just a moment ago, Little Prince had been terrified of Ethan, but now he was treating him like a hero.

Lily couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.

Ethan, however, wasn’t amused. "Get out of my face! And wipe your nose while you’re at it!"

"Oh! Right away!"

Eager to follow orders from his hero, Little Prince quickly ran to the bathroom to wash his face, as obedient as possible.

"He sees you as a hero now."

Lily walked over to Ethan, adjusting his slightly crooked tie as she spoke, her eyes meeting his. Ethan, always the flirt, tilted her chin up with a playful smirk.

He looked deeply into her eyes, a flicker of desire sparking in his husky and seductive voice. "Lily, if you keep looking at me like that, I might just eat you up!"

This man always had a way of ruining the perfect moment.

Lily gazed into his handsome face, her smile still lingering, but her words were cold. "Ethan, can’t you think of anything other than that for once... mmph."

Before she could finish, Ethan’s lips were on hers.

He pulled her into his arms, his hands pressing against her back as he kissed her deeply.

Lily’s heart fluttered in response to the sudden kiss.

Ethan held her tightly, his lips moving gently against hers, his hot tongue softly licking her lips, trying to coax her mouth open.

Lily closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his back, allowing him in. This small gesture was her way of opening her heart to him...

Her willingness to engage made Ethan pause for a moment. Then, a spark of joy lit up his eyes, and he deepened the kiss.

His tongue dove into her mouth, exploring every inch, teasing and swirling around hers... savoring her sweetness with every movement.

He was insatiable, wanting more and more.

Ethan’s kiss was so intense that Lily felt lightheaded, her mind going blank from the dizzying sensation. She gripped his shoulders for support, to keep herself steady.

Ethan, meanwhile, was overjoyed by her rare show of submission. He kissed her fiercely, his hands tightening around her as he backed her up against the wall.

Their kiss grew even more passionate, Ethan’s tongue dominating hers, tasting her deeply, as if trying to consume her entirely.

The heat between them was building, becoming harder and harder to control.

"Heh, heh..."

A strange, childish giggle interrupted them, full of mischief.

It was Little Prince!

Lily’s eyes flew open, and she quickly pushed Ethan away. She turned to see Little Prince standing by the bathroom door, watching them with a cheeky grin, his hands covering his mouth as he giggled.

Uncle Ethan and Sister Lily were kissing.

"What are you laughing at?!" Ethan, having been interrupted, was frustrated. He glared at Little Prince. "Go rewash your face!"

Of all the times to interrupt! He hadn’t even had enough yet!

Ethan cursed his decision to stand up for this brat. The kid didn’t even know when to give them privacy!

"Yes, Uncle Ethan!" Little Prince saluted him playfully, then obediently dashed back into the bathroom.

"Little Prince! You don’t need to go again."

He had already washed his face; it was unnecessary to do it twice. This boy took his hero’s words to heart.

Lily called after him, intending to go over to him, but Ethan grabbed her hand, frowning. His gaze fell on her swollen lips, and he said, "Why are you worrying about him?"
