Chapter 36: I Have Grown Up

Amid all this happiness, Light had decided to have dinner with the whole family, and with the end of the meal together, Light was finally able to go to his room, there were things he had to do.

After entering his room and sitting on a chair, he took a deep breath and said "System profile." and started to glance at the opened window. It took a very, very short time for the corner of his lip to curl up.

[Light Black(exprience 92.2%/100%)

Agility: 7

Dexterity: 12

Skill Points: 20

System Points: 33.270]

Light realised that he had reached level 21 completely and saw that he would almost pass to the next level. On top of that, he did not neglect to see that the number of ’skill points’ he would look at later had reached 20.

His System Points had dropped a little because of the 4,000 points he had used, and he also noticed that his ’Agility’ status had increased by one point by itself.

Light thought that there could be only one reason for this:

[Tier 3 Mutant Zombie.]

His agility stat had probably increased by one point due to his quick attack on this zombie, the trouble was that Light still didn’t know exactly how to increase these statuses.

In short, everything was getting strange, when in fact everything should have been normal.

"Whatever." Light said and immediately started to distribute all the skill points:

"Let’s give 8 points to Strenght, 3 points to Agility, 3 points to Dexterity, and the remaining 6 points to Luck," he said and started to distribute the points one by one, but as soon as he reached the Luck status, another system window appeared in front of him:

[Luck status cannot be upgraded with Skill Points earned. It can be upgraded naturally or by purchasing abilities/items from the system.]

Light shook his head and learnt another new piece of information. Of course, he knew that he could buy items from the System Shop, but he thought that these items were normal. If there could be items that gave status points, could there be items with special attributes?

Light decided to leave thinking about these for later. The fact that he had 6 more points to distribute made him think about where to place them.

"Should I give them to Agility? My Intelligence is high enough, shouldn’t I distribute them so fast? Maybe I won’t be able to level up so easily in the future...." Light closed his system profile as soon as he got this thought, his brain was swollen from thinking.

At that moment, he logged into the System Shop and finally made the transaction to buy that thing he had seen before but couldn’t buy:

[Thank you for purchasing the Entry-Level Close Combat(Passive).

-15,000 System Points]

However, it was over and he was left with 17,270 points. Even if he wanted to save these points for the glamour of fire magic, he knew that such a thing could cost him his life outside. If he could get stronger now, he had to do it immediately.

That’s why he searched the System Shop for a while and eventually bought two things that might come in handy:

[Thank you for purchasing Entry-Level first aid.

-5,000 System Points]

[Thank you for purchasing the Entry-Level Body Strengthening.

-10,000 System Points]

With only 2,270 points left, Light tore the scrolls of the abilities he had received with great happiness and three windows appeared in front of him. As he closed the windows, he realised that something had been added to his profile and everything instantly made sense.

After finishing his work, Light, yawning incredibly hard, switched on the television in his room.

He remembered, before going back in time, that some of the television stations still managed to operate, and the government even offered them food and drink to make special broadcasts.

That was why he had decided to switch on the television to see what was happening, after all, the news channels even managed to tell him what the weather was like.

"We received news today that the Egyptian government has suffered a great loss. Abasi Ali, one of the richest men in the country, has died. Even in these weather conditions, his family does not neglect to make a huge aid to the country and the military. Unfortunately, due to the danger of the virus, the Egyptian government is heading towards collapse."

"We are also proud to announce that our country’s forward initiatives have begun. Announcing that they have managed to retake London City Airport, government officials are telling people to stay calm and stay indoors. Please lock your doors tightly and don’t let anyone in!"

"Huh! Classic propaganda. Considering that they’ve started lying to calm the people down, the government must have almost fallen, there must be no system left that they can put back together. It’s not enough that they’ve left everyone to die, they’re also lying, I wonder how much food they offered the channel?"

Light had a strange feeling while thinking about all these questions.

Indeed, it seemed strange to all of them that the government that everyone trusted and the governments that the people of the world trusted were all abandoning them.

Of course, this was not entirely true.

It was despicable that they abandoned only a few places and tried to hold on to the rest. Yet that was precisely why Light wanted to have his community.

After all, when the government could not protect them, the rules disappeared from society, and a society without rules would have destruction and brutality.

Light would protect his family with his own life, especially his sister, the most precious person in his life.

This led him to the next question. What should he do? Where could he find people? Should he go door to door like the group with the eagle symbol? Or should he make a radio announcement?

It was not certain what to do, but it was certain that there would be a war in the future, which meant that he had to have a group.

Who would have thought that the future would be so brutal?
